There is a good guarantee, and the people who work there actually know about the plants they are taking care of. They are super helpful! We could tell they were making way for Christmas Trees. Thinking we couldn't accomplish this, and getting ready to leave, all of a sudden, their employee Stephanie appeared. Without a hitch, she asked us what we needed. We then received extensive information on what was available. Not only was she educating us on varieties of lilac bushes, but she was also going to go into was already put away into storage for the spring to bring us what we asked for. Wow! Talk about going above and beyond. She actually brought out 4 bushes so we could choose wisely. We chose our two, and with Stephanie's advice purchased the fertilizer to go with it in planting. I checked out the hot house, and Platt Hill employees were all over the place preparing for Christmas. Everyone employee greeted me and kept working at the same time. I would say the store will be ready for Christmas in a couple of days. I believe they are having an open house this weekend. Thank you, Stephanie for such an uplift on an ordinary buying experience. Next step is buying the Christmas tree. Can't wait to feel the true spirit.

I had a very disappointing experience at Wannamaker's and will not be returning. After spending…read moreover $400 on an olive tree, soil, and planter, I discovered an infestation that began shortly after purchase. When I went back to the store for help, they were completely unhelpful and unwilling to offer a refund or even store credit. Instead, they tried to sell me a $10 bottle of soap that they admitted may or may not work. Beyond that, there was no real guidance, advice, or effort to help resolve the issue. For a specialty nursery with premium pricing, I expected far more expertise and customer care. I strongly believe in supporting small businesses over big box stores, but this place was a complete disappointment. Between the high prices and lack of support, the value just isn't there. I will be finding a new nursery in the spring and highly recommend others look elsewhere as well. If you're looking for quality plants, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, and customer care, Wannamaker's is not it.

My Bride and I have been to Wannamaker's over 100 times since moving to Lisle in 2015... so I have…read morea bit of a track record with them. At every interaction, we've *never* had a bad or unpleasant experience there. I read with dismay the several posts here that recount other's experiences. Not having been there with those other Commentors, I certainly can't / won't comment on what they experienced. But I do note a common denominator, folks: many of these tales include, in some way, aspects of "Caveat Emptor". Wannamaker's is a large-ish store, and from shopping there a lot, I note that many Shoppers go there as almost a "field trip" - e.g. not often, and they probably are caught-up in the joy of a store that has literally *Everything* you might want, garden-related. Thus, I posit, they overbuy, and let their Spidey senses down. Perhaps by not counting the number of shoots in a flat, or expecting (and perhaps not documenting) their plantings against a possible future Health claim. As a Disinterested Observer, the store is consistently pretty busy, with complex sales, and have NEVER been staffed to support an Investigative Staff to assist their Customers. These are, really, basic Customer Skills you need to possess (or groom!), ESPECIALLY when living under the fat greasy thumb of His Puissant Orangeness and his Clown Show administration. Trust but Verify. Consider the flip-side here, though: Wannamaker's is a Specialty Store. Sure, they command higher pricing than Wal Mart, because everyone in there is a Professional in their field. They've seen it and done it and planted it. And, regarding Product, if you want it, they probably have it, or can order it for you. I cannot recall in the past decade ever being at Wannamaker's and leaving without what I came for. To me, that justifies the pricing delta. I convey my displeasure by withholding one Star. An Educated Consumer is their Target Customer. After the Sale, it's your Documentation that counts, and - quite possibly - your attitude when seeking whatever restitution your situation demands. Again, I'm not throwing-down at the several posters here who have had negative experiences. I wasn't with you, and I don't know. I'm sorry for your poor experience. But I've never had a bad experience at Wannamaker's, and I always try to support my local brick and mortar businesses!

When I called The Mulch Center, I told them I would need the ten yards of premium mulch dropped after a specific time (to avoid my tenants), and on the exact day I specified, in order for me to put it to use. The Much Center managed everything very smoothly. They noted on my invoice for the driver to not call me on the day of delivery (because I would be on a flight), and the driver dropped the mulch in the exact place requested. There was no dumping near the street or other nonsense. Most importantly - the mulch was excellent, competitively priced, and easy to order. I called The Mulch Center office - and was able to speak with someone who managed my order and everything I required as far as the delivery in a single call. Get your mulch from The Mulch Center

I lost over $3500 from the person that picked up the product. Receipts were originally not provided to me, the purchaser. Since then, the owner has contacted me to resolve this and the company is willing to provide receipts and the name of the company who picked up and scammed me. They have agreed to amend their policy to require a copied photo ID of the pickup person. Originally they were to continue to support and protect the middle man, but given this unfortunate circumstance, they are agreeing to work with the purchaser to catch any potential fraud and theft from homeowners. Jimmy is the owner who called me to resolve the issue, provide the name, and provide the receipts to me. I am happy that they are going to take photocopies of the ID cards so that this doesn't happen with them/through them with landscape scammers.
