This is one of the cheapest ways to get from the Spokane Airport to Pullman if you don't have a car. They are very helpful. When my plane was half an hour late they waited for me. Their drivers are polite and professional. Their mini buses are comfortable. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because they only run this shuttle once a day in each direction, except on Fridays when they run it twice. It is a bit annoying to have to plan your flight around a once a day shuttle. They also run a shuttle between WSU and UI that is free for students, and that service is pretty good. Make sure you know where the bus stop is though, particularly in Moscow. The stops can be difficult to find and the signage is sometimes confusing. They also run special buses to Seattle for holidays. I have not used those services because the times never seem to be convenient, particularly for the return bus to Pullman. Also they only sell those tickets as a round trip. read more

I took the Wheatland Express Van from Pullman to Seattle last Friday during a heat wave and the air conditioning was broken. The interior of the van got up to 105 degrees on a 5 and a half hour trip. I had to make the driver stop so I could buy an ice bucket, two bags of ice and a gallon of water to keep from having a serious medical reaction. They offered to extend our trip by another 1.5 hours and exchange the bus, but I was not able to make that decision as the other passenger was eager to arrive in Seattle. They HAD to have been aware of the broken air conditioner as the heat wave had been going for at least a week. read more

The Wheatland Express staff was courteous and careful bringing our college student back from Pullman over the pass during difficult winter conditions this past weekend. Getting out to put on chains and later having to remove them was difficult and tedious for the driver but he was friendly and communicative to the passengers, according to our student. We use their service frequently and have been very happy with their service and staff. read more

They use a van similar to a rental car shuttle. There advertising shows a huge luxury bus. When I asked about the bus I was glibly told by the rude driver. "It's stupid to use a bus if there aren't enough people." I'll be giving my stupid to Greyhound. read more

Today the wonderful staff of Wheatland Express made sure my daughter made it safely to WSU. Her flight from the LA area was scheduled to land in Spokane, but the pilot informed the passengers that they may need to divert due to weather. The WE staff tracked my daughter's plane and made sure that she got on a bus. This isn't the first time they have given us excellent customer service. My brother-in-law and I ended up purchasing two round trip tickets within hours of each other for my niece to come home for Thanksgiving, each of us not knowing what the other was doing. When I called to ask for a refund, all I was offered was an exchange for the ticket to be used within one calendar year and the advice to go to the WSU parent's page and try to hock it to somebody else on there. Then she literally said, "We only offer refunds in the event of student deaths... which has happened before." Why she would proffer that single, morbid circumstance as a gesture of Wheatland's contrition is beyond gross and, at the very least, is something a business ought to be doing anyway. After trying to explain the situation to the "Director of Operations" that this was simply a mistake of duplication, she was completely unmoved. She had me on speakerphone and she even laughed at me. Then a man in the background began to pile it on by saying loudly, "There are no refunds! It even says so on the website! Here! I'll read it to you!" When I informed him that I am, in fact, literate and his sarcasm is not appreciated, she snapped at me and said that there is more than one person answering phones in the office; this is either incredibly coincidental that another customer would be calling to request a refund at the very same time as me or incredibly unlikely because I had to call five times to even get one person the answer the damn phone. So, in closing, if I could give zero stars, I would. If I could take stars away, that'd be even better. Wheatland has lousy purchasing policies, exceedingly poor customer service, and utterly boorish and uncaring employees. read more

Purchased a ticket for my daughter to get from her orientation at WSU back to Spokane airport for her flight home. The bus NEVER Showed up and she is currently stranded and sobbing at the French admin building at WSU. This was the last bus of the day and they never came to her stop. She tried calling them and it went to voicemail and no one called her back. Now she will miss her flight, we are out $38 for he ticket for he bus that never showed up and we can't afford a whole new last minute flight home. Thanks for ruining my daughters entire orientation experience and leaving her crying and stranded 1,000 miles from home. read more

I used Wheatland to travel between Spokane International Airport and Moscow, Idaho for a conference. The trip from Spokane to Moscow was fine enough, but the trip back to Spokane was anything but. My traveling companion and I were at the shuttle pick-up point on time, but the shuttle wasn't. It became clear, after about thirty minutes of waiting, that the shuttle had left early, leaving us stranded. When I called the company to inquire about why we was stranded at a bus stop that we'd arrived at on time, armed with tickets we'd paid for, I was told by a very apologetic woman that she had no way to contact the driver or figure out where the bus was. I hold her blameless in this, but I can't imagine what kind of service had no way to contact its drivers. However, I did follow up with Wheatland Express later. I talked to a manager, who was impressively rude in tone, claiming that it was our fault for not being earlier to the pickup location. She told me that she would not issue a refund, and so I won't be traveling with Wheatland again. If you do choose to travel with Wheatland, be prepared to travel in a large van that is on the verge of breaking down, not the majestic vessel in the picture--at least, that was the case on the way from Spokane to Moscow for me. read more

I work at the International Center here at Washington State University and we often go with WE as our main method of transportation. This past Saturday, I took a group of international students ice skating and for all of them, it would be their first time going. Upon arriving at the Ice Rink in Moscow, Idaho, we realized that there were hockey games scheduled all day and that they wouldn't have the opportunity to actually ice skate. Initially we were going to return to the campus to drive ourselves to the Lewsiton ice rink (the next closest ice skating rink), but when the bus driver picked us up, he offered to drive our group to Lewiston so that "we could make the best out of our trip". We originally had reserved the bus from 12:15 - 3 p.m. , but because Lewiston was 35 minutes away, we weren't sure if we could keep the bus for extra time. He, however, made sure we weren't charged extra even though we ended up using the bus two hours longer than originally stated. Thanks to him (Todd Bloomfield), we were able to take the international students and their children ice skating and even though it was an inconvenience, they had the time of their lives and were so appreciative! read more

My fraternity and I scheduled two buses for us to use for an event multiple weeks ahead of time and the day before the event they inform us of having to cancel. They gave us no reason as to why and were useless when we tried to get a reason out of them. One of their employees even hung up on us when we were trying to get information. read more

I've used Wheatland Express a few times but not recently as I had been out of the area for the past few years. Today was the first time I needed their services and highly disappointed. In this day and age, there is no reason why a person should not be able to book a reservation online or be able to call and book a last minute reservation directly if space is available. A person should be able to pay by phone for the passenger and the passenger catch the bus without having to pay the driver directly or give them a ticket in circumstances that may not allow them to get one. I have given them two stars because I think there are other options available that provide better service, better schedule, and have 21st century technology making it easier for their customers travel needs. I was completely turned off today as I spoke directly with the Wheatland Express manager, Kim, who was very condescending and snide in her failed attempt to deal with my complaint. Due to no fault of anyone, the flight into PUW was diverted back to SEA because of lack of visibility. Luckily the traveler was able to quickly jump on a flight from SEA to Spokane but I needed to get him down here. I was hoping that I could ease the headache for him and just have his reservation paid for and all he had to do was jump on the shuttle. Well, I learned that Wheatland Express doesn't have the technology and capabilities to accommodate their customers in this fashion. I was told, "we can't communicate with the bus driver, nor can we get a paper ticket to the rider so he is just going to have to pay the driver directly with a credit card or exact cash". Isn't that a nice way to do business? The manager, Kim, suggested their service might not be the right one and I could use a taxi or I could use Northwest Trailways. I was appalled at her lack of customer service and that as a local business in today's economy, that she would encourage me to use someone else. As a local resident, born and raised in this community, I would like to support the local businesses but if they are no more accommodating, can't provide a level of service to their clients, and don't care then I'll definitely take my business elsewhere. So, if you are looking for options...check out Northwest Trailways. I have used them before and they have large coach buses that are very comfortable, fast, less expensive, and have a better schedule that accommodate more flight times.
