Finally a place where we can say "yes, choose what you want " to my daughter!…read more We found Caring Kitchen about 6 months ago, and have now been a weekly or biweekly frequent of the Rancho store, and occasionally stop by the Orangevale location. My daughter is allergic to everything, soy, dairy, egg, fish & shellfish. She can safely eat out at 4 places, and Caring Kitchen is one of them. We stop by every time there is a birthday party to pick up a cupcake so she can be included with her peers. We stop by for fun, we stop by because everyone deserves to be able to go to a store and say pick what you want. Now, for those of you who are like us and are worried about some cross contamination, Rancho does have nuts and soy. We have never had an issue with cross contamination with soy, everything is clearly labeled, and the team does a great job confirming any allergy's. I would double check depending on your nut severity, but many things seem to be pre-wrapped for this reason. The other location is even more allergy free (nut and soy free). I cannot reccomendation this company more, you will pay for the quality, but also for the safety, amazing taste and everything else that comes with a great bakery.

I picked up the raspberry mango mousse, key lime pie, and madeleines to go, and everything was delicious. The raspberry mango mousse was light and fruity, the key lime pie had that perfect sweet and tangy balance, and the madeleines were a great little treat to take home. Their desserts are beautifully presented, and everything I've tried here has delivered on flavor too. There's something fun about browsing the case and picking out a few different pastries and desserts. It feels like a little taste of a Parisian café with a little Fair Oaks personality mixed in. Rex Tip: Explore beyond your usual order and try something new from the dessert case/ menu they never disappoint. And if you sit outside, don't be surprised if a few chickens wander by your table! They're part of the Fair Oaks culture and charm, and honestly, they're pretty cute. I've been here twice now and the food is really good. It's a very, homey, comfort home cooking type…read moreof food vibe. They are located off of Folsom Blvd near Bradshaw in a small strip shop. The first time we went, we were greeted by a young gentleman, and he knew English (in teens or early 20s). When I went Sunday, I was helped by a young, middle aged woman. I got here at 5 pm, 1 hour before closing so there wasn't a lot of options, but still good enough to eat. I wanted savory options since I was famished from going to the gym down the street and haven't eaten all day. I looked around and got the Chebureiki, which is like a hot pocket / calzone, but with ground meat only. I will explain how I ended up getting 2 ($6.50 each) of these in a bit. I also got the Lahmajo ($2.50 each), and it's one of the most popular items. It's like a flatbread with ground meat "glued" to the flatbread and you can fold it and eat it like a taco or taquito. This is my favorite. I also got the Zhingyalov hat, which is basically a veggie hot pocket. It was the last one so I thought why not ($8). The last item I got was a Ekler ($3.50), which is like a big cream puff, very light and airy. The lady assisting me was nice. There was a bit of a language barrier, but I was able to get my orders through. She did charge me for 2 of the Chebureiki, which I luckily caught. So instead of having her give me a refund of ($6.50), I just asked her to put another one in my box. This was due to me asking for price and her putting it in the order register to check, but forgot to take it off. Honest mistake. All the food I had was great and flavorful. The Lahmajo is still my favorite and I might just order this moving forward. Overall, great place for on the go foods and great flavor. I would just double check your receipt and items before leaving since there is a slight language barrier. I'll make time to come back.

AsI rushed over here, my time went up due to traffic and I let her know that and she said that 'as long as I get in before 6:20 it's gonna be ok' thankfully I got here at 6:18 and as soon as I got in, she handed me my drink, and as I paid for it, she offered me a custard on the house, and I happily took the custard. I told her that I was going to see a movie and that I needed something to drink before I saw the movie and she understood and listen to me as I was talking. Definitely would recommend going here! People are very accommodating to a situation, and like I said, they never disappointed with their drinks and I can't wait to try custard pastry!
