What's the Scoop is a little kiosk that offers a huge selection of ice cream flavours-- 75 flavours to be exact. Their ice creams are supplied by Central Smith and Shaw's Ice Cream which are both local creameries to Ontario. They also sell soft serve, shakes, sundaes, floats, banana splits, and ice cream cakes (with advanced order).
For $5, you can get two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone. We opted for two scoops in a cup ($4). With 75 flavours, it was overwhelming to choose just two flavours, but I settled on blackberry cheesecake and pistachio almond ice creams. The black raspberry cheesecake was just okay; fruity, sweet, in a vanilla base. The pistachio almond was good, with a lot of pistachio and almond pieces in it, and a pronounced almond flavour. The ice cream wasn't the creamiest I've ever had, but it hit the spot when the ice cream cravings hit.
Staff were friendly. Cash or debit only. What's the Scoop is a great place to get ice cream at a reasonable price. While there isn't seating, I suggest that you enjoy your frozen treats at the nearby Paris War Memorial Park or enjoy them as you stroll around the town. read more
