If a kiddie size is one scoop, those kids are in for a sugar rush and brain freeze haha. Talk about value! Serving up Hewitt's ice cream (my favourite commercial brand!) with classic flavours like mint chip and chocolate, as well as unique flavours like salty dawg and blueberry cheesecake. Ice cream is kept nice and cold, so it was a bit of a workout to eat it with a spoon (but on those humid hot days, I definitely appreciate extra cold, firm ice cream). My only constructive feedback is that I wish they had some outdoor seating/tables because the shop is quite small, and we ended up having to eat standing outside.

The ice cream used is bubble gum! If you're not interested in their options listed, you can always creat your own! For the piece, you do get a large serving as well. Their paninis are also delicious! AMBIANCE: (4/5) The restaurant has expanded since I've been there last. There is much more seating in the back and they added a picture wall that you can use to take IG-worthy photos with your dessert. The lighting is soft but bright which also makes it a great place to hang out The front of the store is getting a little haggard. FOOD: (3/5) The sizes of the icecream scoops here are crazy. I absolutely love how much they give you - matching the price point in terms of quantity. 1. Oreo Icecream Sundae: This sundae was gi-normous and looked soo good - with whip cream, chocolate drizzle, and oreo cookies lining the cup. However, it was a little unsatisfactory. The 'oreo' icecream they used had basically no oreo in the mix. The icecream itself was bland (???). 2. Pralines & Cream: I LOVE pralines & cream. The kiddy scoop I got was so worth it. The icecream was creamy and thick. Exactly like the ones at Purdy's (my absolute favorite) but at a better price. SERVICE: (3/5) The service wasn't SPECTACULAR but was not lacking. The counter stretches around to the convenience store as well, so they service both. The icecream came out 8'ish minutes after we ordered (only 2 people in front of us) - which may be an issue in the summer time as it gets busier. OVERALL: (3.5/5) This is a store you come back at least once a year just because their pics look so good on Instagram & if you don't want to trek uptown to Biggies Icecream.

The place is well lit and clean. The service was quick. The place does seem to have some regulars that come in and out. My boyfriend and I got a Nutella waffle and original milk tea with tapioca. A little sad that the Nutella waffle didn't come with strawberries but does come with whip cream and your choice of (extensive) icecream. The waffle wasn't the fluffy kind but the more dense version. The Nutella was generous!!! The milk tea was average but still good. Next time I'll try their oolong milk tea for sure :) I'll definitely be back to try their crepes and different assorted desserts they have ! Stepping into A&J Sugar Bowl, one instantly feels the overwhelming warmth brought in by colorful syrups on the shelf behind the counter and the wash of delight that waffle cones dotted with candies on display give you when you know you're about to take part in a guilty pleasure. The smell of toasted sugar brushes against your nose as you feel spoiled for choice. I first spotted A&J Sugar Bowl in the Winter and passed it many times on my way home from various destinations. I hadn't stepped foot in there until recently, Spring 2015. What I found delighted me to the core. Tables along one wall with a central table covered in board games, cartoons playing on the large flat screen of the parlor and an honest to goodness sweets counter displaying candies, ice cream flavors and a crepe stand. The little woman behind the counter with the soft voice and big smile, Nancy, added to the atmosphere. She was a little difficult to understand, being so soft spoken, but she understood exactly what I wanted when I ordered. The parlor has always been empty when I passed it, and it worried me, but considering that it was midnight and I only found it in the off season, It didn't bother me. I just wanted something chocolate related. I ordered a Nutella and banana crepe. It took about five minutes to make and was still toasty when it was served to me. I took a single bite and instantly asked, why is this place empty ever? From the taste to the atmosphere, A&J Sugar Bowl should be packed all the time. Then it dawned on me. It's in a part of downtown that isn't known for its good eats or entertainment. It's hidden away and it has no online presence. I urge all local Yelpers to hunt down Sugar Bowl and enjoy your favorite sweet here. Let's all make this place Hamilton's worst kept secret!

For Real Dough is an "Instgram-worthy" shop with cute, colourful edible cookie doughs and the interior of the shop is super cute and pink! I tried a few of their cookie doughs from various visits, and overall the cookie dough is okay... Definitely not a treat I am craving, but it was an experience to try. I tried their "Luck Charms" cookie dough, and it was too sweet in my opinion and the flavour gets pretty overwhelming (I would recommend a small size, as I could not finish the whole thing). The iced coffee is a MUST TRY! As a coffee lover, I recommend their coffee creations - "Cinnamon Toast Crunch and "Frosted Flakes" iced coffees!! Seriously amazing! They use cereal milk in the coffee, which gives it a sweet flavour, so it's surprisingly very good and unique. There is street parking, but very few spots, so I would recommend going early or taking public transportation if possible. I did park at the close-by A&W parking lot (but that is not recommended).
