Apparently "What's Poppin Texas" has been around since 2015. Just around the corner from my parents for the past 7 years. Now that I've been in once I'll definitely be in again. I love popcorn, they have an insane variety of flavors, and the prices are hard to beat. They have a ton of cheese flavors, kettle, caramel, buttery, savory, with nuts, chocolate drizzled, blends... so many. I left with spicy caramel, smoked chipotle, dill, panda (white and chocolate drizzle), and some halloween blend that has pretzels and chex and m&ms. Yum. There's also a great selection of housemade fudge, a million kinds of candies from vintage to modern, and a lots of treats like chocolate covered pretzels and cookies and clusters and such. It's a colorful popcorn and candy wonderland. A really wonderful place for gifts... they even have a few sugar free options. The staff is so sweet. The popcorn lasts longer in a tin, but I still recommend not waiting TOO long to eat it. This stuff is made fresh so it doesn't last forever. It's so good! read more

What's poppin....hehe I remeber when I use to say that back in the good ol days. Well, What's popping has definitely made a new for themselves. Their reputation, customer service, and products are by far the best I've bought at a popcorn store. The fudged here are so decadent, rich, and perfect. The popcorn flavors are infinite...there are so many flavors here, that I don't even think they have enough room on the flyer to list them all. If you're wanting something spicy, sweet, savory, or the good ol traditional popcorn, you're sure to find what you need at What's Poppin. Not only do they house homemade fudge and delicious popcorn here, they also have homemade chocolate candies, pretzels, and your favorite sugary candies too. The canyon here weigh by the pound, and the bags have varying prices. The sodas are delicious, and don't forget your custom gift sets. We had a movie night and created a complete gift basket in the store. We picked out our base box, the candies, sodas, and popcorns that we wanted in each party favor bag for our movie night. I decided to stop in after trying some of their popcorn that a rep brought to our office. What a cute little shop! As I walked in I saw colorful shelves containing glass jars filled with various sweet treats. The different colors and how neatly they were displayed sung to my OCD heart! I was greeted by Clare(?) and Carlos. I informed her that it was my first time and she happily gave me the rundown. They have gummy candies, sour belts, jelly beans, gum balls, taffies along with chocolates treats made in-house all sold by the pound. They also have various popcorn tins and little gift boxes for different occasions. I noticed some unique bottled soda flavors and boxed candies too. But I was there for the popcorn and while I usually almost always get my fave, Chicago mix (they call that the "Texas" blend here which I respectfully don't agree with), I decided on the "HEB" blend which is caramel, cheddar, and butter in the medium sized bag (26 cups). I also got a junior bag (6 cups) of the confetti mix which is a blend of all their fruity flavors for my family to try. Aside from caramel, I think of popcorn as a savory treat but that's just a personal opinion ;) The fam enjoyed it. I liked the playful vibe of this shop and the enthusiasm of the staff. You can buy various size bags of popcorn in bulk ... as well as individual sizes. They have an xl of regular butter if you plan on having a movie sleepover birthday for your tweens birthday or hang out. They also do some cool things for birthday parties from getting personalized stickers, as well as these cup thing that if I remember correctly comes with candy and popcorn. I don't know how I went this long without writing my review. This place has every flavor of popcorn that you can think of. I usually stick with butter or carmel/cheddar popcorn but I decided to try a few new flavors and they were delicious. The jalapeno ranch and jalapeno cheddar are very good. They offer samples and several sizes to choose from. I have been a few times and I also picked up the butter and carmel/cheddar and cinnamon on other visits. I want to try the honey sriracha popcorn on my next visit. If you plan ahead, you can order online and pick up using the curbside option. They also cater. Whats poplin got a hold on me. Finally there's a popcorn place that delivers because honestly all the rest of them suck and I mean that. These folks got it all popcorn of course amazing tins because they have Saints and LSU ooohh yaaa!!! They also have fudge what popcorn place is making fudge this one is. There's vintage sodas in the bottles old school candy like pop rocks and lots and lots of in house made chocolate like Twix who makes Twix that taste better then Twix. You have to try it if there's any left because if I get there before you do they will be gone. We will be hosting an event in the future and the popcorn place will be supplying our popcorn they just don't know it yet. It's absolutely worth the drive. read more

I've gotten popcorn from here a few times - a couple of times in the store, which is do clean and very interesting. They have fresh fudge in all varieties, candies you can't find elsewhere, I.e. Necci Wafers just to name one. I've also called and gotten a pick up order. It was there waiting for me just inside the door. They have so many varieties of popcorn! I love the regular buttered, kettle corn, pecan caramel (I'm not sure that's what they call it, but that's what I call it). It's all so good. Excellent popcorn and candy shop. The employees are very helpful and will help you figure out the best flavors based on your taste buds. The offer free samples if you are unsure of a flavor so you know you will like what you bring home. If you get popcorn frequently the tins are a good deal, you buy the time once then you just pay for refills. The refills are priced based on what you order, the sweet popcorn and the cheese popcorn are more expensive than just butter do if you do only sweet and cheesy it will be slightly more but not enough not to do it. read more

What can I say? I have passed by this place so many times, even live right around the corner from them, but always ignored them because I didn't care much for popcorn. I find it boring and a choking hazard for me ( I have a small trachea and must be careful eating certain things) But someone recommended a peculiar flqvor of popcorn that piqued my interest. So I paid a visit I was astounded. This was the equivalent of that corner street candy shop you see in television. They make their own products and have everything from popcorn to candy and chocolate covered snacks like Graham crackers. But the true treat actually is the popcorn. They have a wide assortment of flavors they've invented and will give you all the samples you might like. They are super friendly and confident in what they have. Absolutely amazing! My step mom reccomended this place to me and we stopped in together and it was like paradise. This business advertised in our church's bulletin. It took me a while to get over here. I really missed out. Thus far, my favorite mix is the Bedford, a mix of kettle and cheese. I'm even planning to give popcorn out as a Christmas gift because I'm so in love with the fresh flavor of their popcorn. Sometimes it takes a while to get the order, mostly because they have so many walk in customers so I browse. They have a great mix of handmade chocolates, jellybeans, old-fashioned candies, and sodas. I even like the music they play. I've noticed, too, that they give to the community. They had a Salvation Army kettle out the last time I was there. They were also raising money for hurricane victims last month. This place is an asset to the community. My boyfriend and love this place. He is more of a savory guy and his favorite is pizza. I'm all about sweetness with birthday cake and snickerdoodle being my top picks. The ladies are so sweet, and let you sample as much as you want. Next time we are going to get the watermelon and salt and vinegar. I absolutely love this place! They have the BEST popcorn around. I've been going here since they opened. The owners are super nice ladies that really care about quality. The fist time I went there, they took my daughter and I on a tour through the back to see how they did everything. It was very cool. I personally like to stick with the classics: Extra butter, Cheese and Lite Caramel. Of course, I also like their Kettle Corn, Snickerdoodle, Butterfinger. I could go on. They let you try any flavor before you buy it and I haven't tried anything I didn't like. I heard someone ordering dill pickle mixed with ranch and swore that it tasted like they were eating fried pickles! You can buy a mini bag that fits in your purse or a giant bag that you will have to put in the trunk of your car and all sizes in between. My wife just gifted me with a bag of caramel popcorn and a bag of jalapeño popcorn for my birthday. I was disappointed with each. Both were hard and seemed stale. I am sure our popcorn bucks won't be spent there again. They need to sample their bulk products on a daily basis and dump their stale stock before making it available to their customers. Living in Azle, it's not worth the gas and time to drive back to Bedford to return it. So, from a customer viewpoint, that's about $25 wasted.
