This little popcorn spot has been operating since 1982! That's a long time for delicious popcorn to be popping right around the corner from me without my knowledge. I've been to Lincoln Square countless times but I'd never made it here. Finally I said, "enough! I must stop in." And I did and I was happy and I left with three bags of popcorn. The store is very little and very simply filled with popcorn. They have over 40 flavors, both sweet and savory. The best part is they'll let you sample anything and the staff is so sweet. Jon and I left with three 8oz bags (about $7 each): Cheesy Caramel, Sopapilla, and Alpine Almond Brittle. All soooo so good. I was in the area and figured I'd check out this popcorn shop nearby. Cute little store with plenty inside, but the savory flavor list wasn't that extensive and the popcorn itself was not that good. It tasted bland and with not much flavor to it. I love popcorn and normally gobble it up, but I ordered two flavors I typically like and did not finish either. I came for the first time during the corona outbreak. They were out of a few flavors that I wanted to try. I ended up getting jalapeño ranch, jalapeño cheddar, and dill pickle. They were all yummy and tasted fresh! I have been to a few other local popcorn places and the popcorn is usually soft. The Popcorn Store actually had crunchy popcorn! In my opinion, that's how it's supposed to be!! The jalapeño ranch was my favorite! It had so much good flavor! It was light, crunchy, slightly buttery, and the jalapeño flavor was perfect. The jalapeño cheddar was good but not my favorite. It was more cheddar flavor, I guess I was hoping for a stronger jalapeño flavor. The dill of course was tasty too! They were out of cheddar bacon, but I know that one will be delicious! They also sell other treats and gift items. This is a great place to grab a gift or a yummy snack for yourself. I absolutely love popcorn, so I came here today to fulfill my popcorn craving. I must say, this place has the best popcorn selection that I know of. The staff was extremely friendly here; a warm greeting as my boyfriend and I entered through the door, and offering such delicious flavors to try if we were visiting the store for the first time. If you check in here, you get a free small bag of popcorn with a purchase of any medium sized sweet flavor. I failed to read the fine print about buying a sweet flavor, so I requested for a bag of pickle popcorn and getting a small bag free. Since the employees were so kind, they made an exception and allowed me to utilize the yelp check in coupon as long as I chose a flavor that was salty like the pickle. I wasn't expecting any of the employees to grant my coupon since it was my fault that I didn't read the fine print, so this was an extremely kind gesture that made me want to give them a 5 star review on yelp. Personally, I'm a huge fan of their pickled flavored popcorn. My boyfriend loves the hot cheese flavor. My small bag of popcorn (I got the jalapeño cheddar) didn't last long because I couldn't stop eating it! You can sample all the flavors and pick your fave, they've got 20 plus, a lot of both sweet and salty. The customer service was also friendly. You can get popcorn in bags or in tins. I think the tins are a great gift for holidays. This store is the best example of why I am proud to support small businesses. The customer service is outstanding. My elderly mother, who no longer drives, loves popcorn but is on a low sodium diet. We have tried popping corn without adding salt at home but it just isn't the same. I explained this to the owner one day while I was purchasing my favorites and she told me about their canola popcorn with no salt added and we love it. Now we are back on a regular basis as soon as her tin is empty. The popcorn is always fresh and I love all the flavors that I have tried but my favorite is the chocolate cheesecake.
