Cons: this is our least favorite Whataburger in town. The lines are always so long. And truthfully, nobody talks to you when they are handing you your order. My wife and I visited this Whataburger location while out shopping. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. Originally we attempted to place an online order for pick up and the restaurant was offline. We were looking forward to trying the BOGO Chili Cheeseburger. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we inquired about redeeming the deal from the mobile app. The employee informed us their internet was down and they were not able to honor the offer. We ordered anyways and enjoyed a good meal. The bacon Whataburger and jalapeño Whataburger were cooked well with all fresh toppings. I gave 4 stars due to the inability to receive the BOGO Chili Cheeseburger deal. read more

I decided to give this place another chance today for lunch. A few months ago, they completely messed up my order and I was aggravated. I decided then not to give them a bad rating until I gave them another chance to turn things around. Once again today, they completely messed up my order (it was clearly somebody else's order.) They gave me food that I can't eat because of certain allergies I have, so I spent $12 for nothing. I am busy just like everybody else, so I didn't have time to go out of my way to return to the restaurant and complain or get my money back. I don't know if the employees are not properly trained, they just don't care, or the management is ineffective. Either way, they have lost my business. I will never go back. You can look at my profile and see that I almost always give high ratings to the restaurants or companies that I do business with, but this is ridiculous. Avoid this place. When it comes to Whataburger, I've said it before, the quality and service varies by location. Since we were in the area, we decided to pop into their 71st St restaurant. It was our first visit here....The food was decent, the employee who took our order was friendly...enough, but the service was super slow - approx. 20 min. to get our food. We had planned to try their "Limited Time" Chili Cheese Burger as we had a (BOGO) coupon, but it could only be ordered online & they were experiencing internet issues. So, we ordered the Bacon & Jalapeño Burger Meals instead. We sat by the drive thru side window and I could see cars pulling forward & stopping to also wait on their food. I'm unsure of the reason for the delay as there were only 2 other customers inside and it was not a rush hour. I ordered drive thru at 3:33 PM. Waiting in line until 3:45 PM to pay, I notice the ticket says 3:45PM, I find that strange since I already ordered nearly 15 minutes prior. After waiting another five minutes an employee brings a bag but it's someone else's order. At this point I'm sure they gave my order to someone else. I park and go inside to ask if they're really cooking my order. They assure me it's being put together as we're talking. I wait another five minutes. The give six other people their orders. This doesn't seem right, I only ordered two burgers and I've been waiting 30 minutes now. She assures me that my food will be up next. Two more drive thru customers get their food. If you love being gaslighted and the slowest service in America, this is the place for you. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Went through the drive-thru today and it took 30 minutes for our order to come out AND it was wrong and missing a sandwich, We went inside to address why it was taking so long at 25 mins and they did not even address us or come to the counter to see if we needed to place an order. EVERYONE was standing around. We called after we were home and missing a sandwich and were ridiculed by the manager that we should not complain. This is one of the slowest whataburgers i've ever been to. They took 30 minutes to get us out food and most of it was wrong. When i preferred a large fry they gave me a medium. My burger was missing ingredients i had paid extra for and everything seemed to lazy. A few employees were sitting a table and laughing and talking loudly the entire time and it was very disruptive to the environment. This location is terrible. Tonight, my wife got the saddest excuse for a burger I've ever seen. It's literally half a patty. Why would they think it's okay to serve someone this? We sat in the drive thru for 30 minutes, and got all the way home to find this. I also asked for a half and half tea - half Unsweet half sweet tea and they gave me half tea half Powerade. Worst whataburger location EVER. They are incredibly slow and unorganized. One time I was there for over half an hour waiting to order in the drive thru and had to call to let them know they had a line wrapped around the building. They blamed not having anyone at the drive thru ( at 5:30 pm) on shift change. Their food is usually cold or mildly warm at best. I am a huge fan of whataburger but man.. this location is not that great what so ever. I work overnights at a close by hospital so I made my small order online. Then waited tell the last second to leave to go pick up my food since I do not have that much time on my lunch break. I come in and go straight to the designated area for online pick up orders. After being ignored by many staff members someone finally asked if I had been helped. I told the staff member I made an online order and apparently they didn't notice they had an online order so I'm now waiting an extra almost 15 minutes for them to make a bacon Swiss burger with no bun and a medium fry. Right when I walked in the restaurant reeked of urine for some odd reason. The floors are VERY sticky and slippery at the same time. I've visited this Whataburger multiple times and dined inside as well as gone thru the drive thru. My experience dining inside at lunch time was excellent in every way - order taker was engaged & knew what customer service was; my order as received was correct & was made exactly as a Whataburger should be all the way down to the correct proportions of condiments. Furthermore the place was clean including the bathrooms. My experience in the evening going thru the drive thru on two separate occasions wasn't near as good. The order taker / drive thru tenant was fine but whoever was tending the grill / making the burgers seemingly was overwhelmed on my first visit (it was busy; the meat was raw & the burger was just slapped together) and the second time the burger was cooked all the way but thrown together haphazardly. I'd visit this restaurant for lunch anytime but won't be going back in the evening. read more

The best thing about what a burger is that they're open 24 hours, every other location I've been to has great service regardless of what time it is. Unfortunately this location being the closest to my house doesn't. The service is usually terrible, probably because ordering food interrupts the employee card game going on in the lobby. There are very few cashiers here who know how to redeem rewards from the Whataburger app. Invariably, every time I try to use the app at this location, I end up waiting an extra three minutes while the cashier gets a manager. And no matter how clear I make my order, I usually have to correct the cashier before paying for it. I try to be patient because I understand that it's a high volume location, but the incompetence and apathy are frustrating. read more
