I know this is going to feel like a dagger to some, but i just cannot get all the way on board with everyone else. I have tried to many times before writing this review. I will begin by acknowledging that the hours of the franchise is very much loved! I come from a city where restaurants stayed open past 10 pm and where many were 24/7 or 2am closing. The size of the burgers are fantastic as I can eat a hardy meal. The offerings of different combinations of flavors/toppings is something you don't see at many fast food establishments. I would enjoy those combinations much more if they found a way to keep moisture in the patty. I'm not saying I want to but into the patty and see a sea of grease just dripping down my wrist. HOWEVER, there's nothing more unpleasant than chewing on dry slighting stiff burger patties. It's as if they think the slightly sauced top patty will create a layer of flavorful lubricant. I end up having to order extra sauce on the side to dip the otherwise tasty burger into to enjoy the $7 entree. That's right! $7 will get you a featured burger and $10 for the meal. They are not shying away from casual dine in prices. Some dine in restaurants offer a chef prepared meal for less. The fries should be kept at a hotter temperature under the lamp. Another positive is their beverages are great! Keep ordering those selections! Two weeks ago, I did fall in love with the pico de Gallo burger that's here for a limited time and hopefully it stays for a while. It was so good that I dreamt of it. Then I made dinner and then decided to forgo that for the pico! Haha the sweet and spicy bacon burger will always be the calling that has be cheat on my eating (but only after My taste buds are fulfilled with the pico... I'm sorry buddy). Their app is good. WORST WHATABURGER IN TEXAS HISTORY!!!!!! After we ordered we sat dow and the flor was extremely sticky and when we got our food the order was incorrect when we told the the order was wrong she gave us 4 more wrong orders until we finally got our food right. A little over a year ago my wife and I went to this Whataburger and got the worst burger I had ever had in 50 plus years of eating Whataburger and I gave a 1 star rating only because they wouldn't allow a zero or negative star rating tonight we drove back to orange from Sulphur La to get my Whataburger fix and I am happy to say I had one of the best I have had in 50 plus years of eating Whataburger even though I ordered on they didn't start cooking until about 5 minutes before I was supposed to be there so the meat was hot and juicy not dried out under a heat lamp perfect the bun was perfectly toasted l ordered light mustard and that was what I got fry's were hot and fresh my wife said her double meat patty melt was just as good We noticed it was a whole new crew Whataburger needs to keep them together as much as possible read more

I'm here from out of town (Los Angeles to be exact) testifying in a lawsuit of all things at the local court house. This lawsuit is unrelated to food... Treat this entire review as that of an outsider, as my views may be a bit different than the locals. Orange is more of a blue collar town on the eastern most part of Texas. There don't seem to be a ton of options available for lunch restaurants, so I picked Whataburger. As a business traveler, you avoid the locally owned places because (1) you can't always tell if they want you there, (2) you don't want to inadvertently offend someone local, and (3) it's just easier to go to a name brand place. This was my first time at a Whataburger - and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. My first impression was the sign, that said it was Family owned, suggesting there was someone in the back who genuinely fought to get my hard earned dollars into this place. The menu has a lot of burgers and sandwiches to choose from. I opted for the most simplest one, a #1 burger with fries. It was delicious. The bun was sweet and tasty, the lettuce had just been cut fresh, and burger was hot. Just a good burger to wet the pallet. What really surprised me about this place was the fact that an employee came up to me with a tray of prepackaged sauces (ketchup, bbq, spicy ketchup, etc) and asked what I would like with my fries. He handed me my two sauces, a salt packet and some napkins. Yea, it's fast food, but I really felt the love here. I also noticed that a lot of workers have their lunch here. There was one guy who came in with his own lunch pail while everyone ordered from the menu. I felt bad for this guy because that was me when I first started out working. I asked him what he wanted, ordered it for him, and stuffed $500 in his shirt pocket. I told him to stick with it - his time will come, but do two things for me: (1) go do something nice with your girlfriend/wife at my expense and (2) when you make your own keep/can afford it, pass it along to the next deserving person. To the guy who took our order tonight, what is wrong with you?? He kept giving us our total after every item we said, and kept cutting us off trying to end the transaction. After the last one, we were trying to make it a large combo, and he cut us off again. We asked if we could get a drink with our combo, and he's like oh uh... . Whataburger, are you serious?? "Sorry sir, we are all out of our spicy ketchup" What?! That's like In N Out burger being out of their "spread" How can a place like Whataburger be out of its very own special sauce? Plus they served me almost raw, uncooked fries. When I returned them the dude gets very defensive. I said well than cook your food properly so people don't return it. I absolutely love this place. I visit their drive thru almost every morning because my 2 year old daughter loves the pancakes and i myself, love the coffee. The service is great, There's one particular worker, i think the name is David or Davis, What a cool Kid, great smile and personality, David always remember how i like my order and make sure its hot and fresh every single time. Cant believe I just paid $20.00 for two meals that were cold. So cold that the cheese wasn't even melted on the meat! Very discouraging, and when I called to talk to the manager the girl that answered the phone was rude (as if she hates her job) and the manager got on the phone, the only thing she could do is apologize she did offer to remake the meals but like I told her its the principle that I paid $20 and i wasn't expecting a free meal but for her to know that her staff is slacking! The most horrible service I had ever received in my life. The order taker did not even try to care to understand what I was ordering, I had thought that the food I ordered came in the big bag I received, plus since I had a few cents left over I thought it would be okay to drive off, plus who has someone place two orderes but come on different tickets? the lady yells sir, your money! I tell her as i drive off that I already paid and I reverse to go back to the window, telling her my apologies and she gets pissed off at me. Ordered 2 burgers meals and 9 pieces nuggets meal and sugars cookies, our order came back completely wrong and the fries tasted like they were fried in old grease none went back to get refund no one apologized not even the manager , we explained the how the fries tasted one of the workers whispered to other "they do need to change that grease" they refused to give us a receipt stating the order was refunded the workers were talking back to us I would not recommend anyone to eat from this place at all the service and food is horrible read more

They always apologize for the wait, but if I wanted pre-cooked burger speed there's plenty of subpar restaurants to go to. Tragic, tragic, tragic. Traveling, I stopped by this Whataburger for breakfast for my family of 7. Every single thing we got was disgusting and inedible. You'd think at 7:00AM when they just opened the food would be fresh. WRONG. Hard, crusty sausage biscuits, burnt hard pancakes, hard tortillas and burnt bacon is not something people tend to like.
