We're so glad we gave it a try! Buns on the Run ATX is among 3-4 other food trucks at its location--it might not be preferable to eat outside with this heat, but know that this spot does have a covered seating area with a good amount of benches to sit in and enjoy your meal. We were greeted by a very nice woman inside who took our order. I went basic this time around and ordered a Cheeseburger with a side of fries. The seasoning on both was perfect and the patty was SOOOO soft and juicy. The buns used were airy and soft as well. Ugh. It was just delicious, I regretted not getting the double patty. Not sure what their sauce includes and I don't want to guess and be super wrong, but it did contribute to the overall taste of the burger. The fries had a seasoning that also gave them great flavor, they were right in the perfect middle between crisp and soft, which I personally like! Skip the fast food and make your way here and enjoy something local and fresh!! Definitely will be back!!

The crinkle fries were the perfect companion, and the whole meal was tied together with their homemade sweet tea. Service was friendly and quick, but I was confused by the pricing because it's not listed at the truck. I have no idea how much I paid for each item, but I did think it was a little pricey. We've been twice for lunch, but yesterday we spontaneously decided to break routine and go out for breakfast. We're still off of our diets after vacation in Paris, and we both secretly wanted to extend vacation (and indulgent food) one more day before facing work and healthy habits on Monday. Normally we get eggs for breakfast at other diners, but this time we were thinking alike, and decided to get the thing most unlike what we regularly eat - waffles topped with bananas, chocolate chips, and peanut butter, with chicken on the side. Sugar free syrup was an option, thankfully, because I have to reign it in somewhere. The waffle wasn't quite as crispy as I like, but with all those toppings it would be hard for it to be bad! However, the chicken tenders were the surprise hit of the meal! They were moist and the breading was light and crispy. There were quite a few people there on a Sunday morning, and some seemed to be regulars. I'd like to find something on the menu that wows me so that we become regulars too, but so far it's coming in at just satisfactory. Since we don't allow ourselves many treat meals, the calories really have to be worth it to keep coming back. We'll give it a few more tries. Our servers were extremely friendly. I want to love this place! We'll try a few more times and see what the verdict is!

Now it's been many years since I've been home but it's a craving that is always there and hard to fill. Cafe 290 does just that! Great home cooked meals, typical Diner sized portions (very large) and breakfast at any time of the day! Let's be honest, it's never the wrong time for breakfast! It feels like you are sitting in your home kitchen, the staff are very nice, and the atmosphere is typical Texas Diner, and there is nothing wrong with that! Few pictures, and good ole classic cheeseburger! 1lb of meat... good luck, taste great but sheesh, it's hefty, the quesadilla is 10/10 with chicken, idk why it just bangs every time! And the very classic egg omelette! Get the diced potatoes, it's all divine! LASTLY and probably most important! THEY HAVE HOMEMADE CAKE AND PIE by the slice. It's expensive, listen to me here, it's worth the price, massive slices and fresh every day and THEY ARE INCREDIBLE!

My thoughts of this place for the first time...authentic style great, but sorry not sorry, I've had bigger quesadillas from a food truck than that. Meat was bare minimum inside. Shredded chicken small amount with cheese small amount. I'm use to thicker quesadillas than that for a 20.00 dollars or more price, hmmmm. Some food trucks have this place beat for a lower price, like 10.00 dollars less on quesadillas. And the vegetables are inside fully ready to eat. The space where the food truck is located is pretty open, plenty of parking spots. There's currently only one other food truck there and they have a pretty big outdoor seating area, good for big and small groups. I ordered the "Beef Shawarma Rice Bowl" -- contained beef, rice, banana peppers, pickles, cucumbers, onions and was topped with 3 different sauces. The beef was so tender, soft and flavorful and the veggies provided the freshness and acidity that made everything taste so balanced, all on a big bed of rice. There was definitely more rice than meat, but when mixing everything together you don't notice and again, the beef was delicious. To drink I had fresh lemonade with lavender in it, per the owner's suggestion--it's GOOD. Overall a great experience and loved the food and service. I only regret not finding or checking out this truck sooner. I will definitely be back!
