Went to this location after choosing it over Burger King since I was craving a burger. The wait time was very slow with only one car in front of me. I was asked to wait to place my order, so I assume the server was busy with other things. Placing my order and at the window, the server had 0 customer service skills or really even cared. Truthfully I understand bad days however, eventually you learn how to separate bad days from individuals. The burger was fine for the most part, I imagined it to be a thicker patty than it was. The fries tasted very old. I only ate a couple and just threw them away. Maybe one day I'll give them another chance, but next time I'll just choose Burger King.

    02.22.20 Mushroom Swiss Burger

Huge burgers! Surprisingly yummy burgers... and they're big likening to Nation's Giant Hamburgers. I've been wanting to try them but their main stronghold is in the South. We don't have this in Cali, do we? Maybe in SoCal like where most of the restaurants and food places venture first? We have In-N-Out where it has gained a cult-like following. Anyway, I digress... I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger. It came with two beef patties, two slices of melted cheese and two layers of grilled mushrooms topped with the yummy creamy au jus sauce on a lightly toasted soft warm bun. Drooling as I write... We didn't eat in. Had the burgers to go. We also ordered the Triple Meat Whataburger and Grilled Chicken Sandwich and all enjoyed their meals. Glad I had a chance to taste a Whataburger burger [Gulfport MS]... dare I compare to our In-N-Out? Well, I can say for sure that my Mushroom Swiss Burger was delightfully yummy (and In-N-Out doesn't serve Mushroom Swiss). Review #1715

Sweet and Spicy Bacon Burger with onion rings and chicken bites
    Deidra D.

This was my first time being close to a Whataburger and I had to give it a shot. I decided to order a Strawberry Shake, Sweet & Spicy burger, 9 pc chicken bites, and onion rings. Everything was nice and hot. The onion rings were crispy as well. The chicken bites were big pieces. I had the honey butter sauce to dip which was good. The burger was more sweet than spicy but it was good. Strawberry shake was thick and just right. If you've never tried this place or you're in the area to get some filling fast food, definitely check them out. I could see the hype from the Texans for sure.

Food is ok, but waited 40 minutes in the drive through, not even during an unusually busy time. Going late at night is even worse!

It was originally named Marina Cantina but is under new ownership. Parking is a bit sparse here, and you used to be able to park under the bridge but that was blocked off last time I went. You may have to park in the overflow gravel lot just west of the building, which also serves as parking for the excellent Blue Dog Bistro next door. We started with the Tres Amigos appetizer, which included a pile of fresh chips combined with salsa, cheese sauce, and black bean sauce. It was great and really meant for more than two people. They don't skimp on this one. I've been here several times and always get the Shrimp A Go Go poboy, which is pictured here. Although I feel like it could have used a few more shrimp for the price point, it was really good and comes with this creamy sort of salsa that pairs well with the fried shrimp. My wife got the grilled chicken sandwich, and honestly it was bigger and looked better than my poboy. I am definitely trying that next time. I hope this place is doing well because it never seems very busy when we go. It's like something is missing on the inside to liven it up. Our tables were covered in epoxy that was cracked and we saw buckling on the wood floors, most likely from humidity. Service has always been pretty quick and I have never had any complaints. I know the City caused a lot of drama for the previous owners, which is unfortunate. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a place to hang out and have a few drinks and great food.

Had a beachy vibe. Had to have some Duck and andouille gumbo. So good ! Get a bowl. It was pretty darn tasty. We also had some Epic deviled eggs. These were just ok. Nothing really 'epic' about them but good. Finally we had some Flamingo chicken bombs. Deep fried tenders and jalapeños. Pretty tasty and hot! Bailey our server was awesome and offered great suggestions. I bet this place is rocking during the summer with boats coming in and live music outside. Would love to come back for that.

While in town for our yearly vacation, we decided on Woody's Roadside for a quick and easy dinner…read morebased on the reviews and pictures, as well as recommendations from a few locals. Unfortunately we were left pretty underwhelmed with the experience. It's not that Woody's is bad, per se, it just isn't...good. The service was great. Our server, Jaclyn, was very attentive and helpful. She didn't hover but she made sure we had what we needed and was nearby if we had questions or requests. Jaclyn recommended the margarita, which is where things started going downhill. My dad ordered a classic lime margarita and didn't take more than a couple drinks of it. We all tried it and agreed it just had a nasty flavor. Sort of like bad white grape juice? It was weird, and of course there's a little asterisk on the menu that notes all alcohol sales as final. We were unimpressed with that but didn't even try to argue the point. Our food came next. It was actually incredibly fast service, especially considering the 30-top that was seated when we arrived, with their orders given to the kitchen right before ours. Everything was hot and fresh, though not all delicious. Here's a run down of my family's reviews of their food: Build-A-Burger w/ Amer. cheese - A bit too thick and tough like the meat had been slightly overworked, but it had a great flavor and was seasoned well. The edges were burnt and it was well done, not medium well. Good beer-battered fries. Spicy Hawaiian chicken sandwich - Very flavorful and tropical but the toppings made the bun soggy and the ratio of filling to bun was way off, even with ham and lettuce removed. Crab cake tower - The fried green tomatoes and sauce were great, as was the corn bean salsa that came with it. The crab cakes were good too, though nothing special. The shrimp on top were juicy and well-seasoned. Wouldn't go back for it though. Korean pork tacos w/ mac & cheese - They were okay. The slaw included was a bit too sour but the pork was juicy and flavorful. The mac & cheese was too bland. Chicken strips & fries - The chicken tenders were cut wrong so they were hard to eat. I had to cut them up with a fork and knife to get bite-sized pieces that I could chew. They had a good flavor but the technique needs some work. The beer-battered fries have a strange seasoning on them that got more unpleasant the more I ate, but everyone else liked them, so that's probably just me. This is one of my least favorite restaurants we've been to on the Gulf Coast, which is unfortunate because I honestly thought I was going to like it a lot! For the price, I don't think this is a great place, especially because it's pretty out of the way from the main drag(s).

We were craving small but savory things to eat. This place fit our needs. Especially an excuse to get out of the rain at time we went. We are so glad to try it out. I will be honest, we were a bit overwhelmed by the choices they had available. Bre was taking our order at the time. Asked if we have any questions. We told her it was our first time here. She calmed our fears and kindly walked us through the menu. We did not know what to get. So she made a few suggestions. We started out with the trio combo. That way we could sample a little bit of what we could. One order we did the trio combo (savvy classic, fried chicken, steak house) with fries and sweet tea. Other was also with a trio combo ( steak house, English Cod, fried chicken) onion rings and fresh lemonade. Bre said she loved the steakhouse slider. So we had to try it. The food came out very fast and fresh. We still saw the steam coming out from it. Few other tables said it was a little bit of a wait. But honestly, well worth the wait. You know it has to be freshly made. Ours came quickly, but honestly, it depends if they are busy with other orders. Ours came pretty quickly due it was not as busy at the time. They all made fresh at every order to my knowledge. The seating is limited. Seating is just several tables with hard metal chairs and no padding. However, if you have a large group of people. They have a drive thru and of course, you can get your order to go. I also overheard few people order in advance from the website and call and just come in and pick up their order? One thing that surprised me. One of the owners happened to be in the store and stop by our table. Sean was amazing! He made sure we had a great experience. We mentioned that the onions rings are great but a little overcooked. He made sure to make it right. He originally offered to make a fresh batch of them. We kindly declined. He made a fresh batch of fries for us instead. He did not have to do that. I know that it may sound silly but that makes a good impression on the restaurant and us! We are so thankful! The food was delicious and staff excellent! WiFi available. It maybe out of the area for most. In the north Gulfport area, off highway 49. I definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area and looking for something savory and delicious. I especially love that they have a variety of options other than just sliders. Sliders, chicken tenders, cheese curds, onion rings, custard shakes, and etc. stop by and try it for yourself and see. You will not be disappointed. In my opinion.
