Both projects were delivered ahead of schedule and without any issues. Simon supervised the work from start to finish. The company, based in Brea, was originally recommended to me by a friend who used them for a project in Los Angeles. I was so impressed with the quality of their work and designs that I've recommended them to many others. For both projects, I interviewed several contractors, but Simon's quotes were the most reasonable in terms of scope, time and cost. Their ability to consistently deliver faster than promised made the entire experience even more satisfying. Pics are before and after.

The construction crew was highly competent, efficient, and skilled. All the work was completed precisely and professionally by Simon and his hard-working team. Simon was on site every day, assisting, monitoring and involved with the planning and installation. He consistently and knowledgeably answered all our questions each day. We trusted his responses, construction materials, and color suggestions. Today, the exterior of our home looks amazing with new garage beams, outside facia, Hardie boards, and paint colors. We look forward to working with Simon in the future.

The business owner Erica gave me detailed and competitive quotes at the beginning. Saved me time and effort from bargaining. During the whole project, she was quick responding, followed every steps and organized the whole team well. I tend to keep adding or deleting terms in the middle of the projects and she was patient and understandable. The painter Daniel is an reliable expert. He made sure the working areas were well sealed before painting so after it was done my house was still clean. He touched up all the very minor parts I feel imperfect without complaining. His partner "Menu" is also a good guy and did me favors like moving my furnitures. My hardwood floors were installed by Mr. Wu and Yao. They have decades of experience in this field. Since we speak the same first language, we get along with each other well and I really learned a lot from watching and talking to them. They worked methodically and pretty fast. My second floor is uneven and I insisted nailing down my 7.5 inches planks rather than gluing down. They did their best prepare the subfloors and the final performance is super. When you step heavily on it, the rattling sound spots are little, way beyond my expectations. Btw, I didn't experience any 'bullying' or hidden costs. Everything is straight forward and they make you understand BEFORE it starts. So glad my project was done by these good hands. Many thanks to the whole group. 这家真的很不错，诚信，沟通顺畅，工人技术也好比我以前在北加装修的经历好太多了。

We hired Derick to remodel our rental home. Quotes, negotiations, and initial walkthroughs all went…read moregreat. He is extremely responsive and easy to work out details with. We appreciate that Derick is reliable and stands by his work. Working with D&E could have easily been 5 stars - pricing and communication are excellent. However, the on site manager for a few main phases of construction marred our experience. Mr. Miao led the external and internal painting of the house and did not do a good job. In addition, he was verbally aggressive (tried to bully us into doing more work), ethically questionable (wanted us to go around Derick for some materials), dismissive (or just fails to listen), and a chain smoker (but he didn't smoke inside the house). Externally, we needed the walls washed, patched, and painted. This was covered multiple times during our conversations with Derick. On the day of external painting, they washed and painted. It wasn't until we complained about the lack of patching that they went back to patch and paint again. Internally, we had three paint issues. In large areas, like the ceiling, the paint layers are uneven and in certain light, you can clearly see the uneven paint. Second, despite Derick reminding Mr. Miao that we wanted the same color walls in the kitchen as the rest of the house, he still painted it the original color. Lastly, he painted the water-based paint directly over the old oil-based paint in the bathrooms, doors, and kitchen. This resulted in peeling before the job was even over. To top it off, we added canned lights to the kitchen. The electrician had reminded Mr. Miao of this, but when Mr. Miao framed the kitchen ceiling, he placed the 2x4's where the electrician wanted the lights. The electrician didn't find out until after he opened the ceiling and then had to open up additional holes in the new ceiling to add his lights. The holes were patched up, but it's aggravating to put unnecessary holes in your new ceiling and have new the lights asymmetrically aligned. On the positive note, the job finished just a few days after the original schedule date. The delay was due to the Lunar New Year holiday weekend (and the workers took NYE off, too) and window installation was a few days late. Once they arrived, though, the doors and windows were installed quickly and cleanly. If you choose to work with D&E, make sure you don't work with Mr. Miao. Other than that, you're in good hands. For all the issues we've encountered, Derick had them fixed and has promised to correct any issues that arise.

Dan Wesley and his team are the best!…read more My husband and I purchased a Craftsman in the Claremont Village, knowing it would be a fixer upper. Originally, there was a 3 bedroom 1 bath home (built in 1924) and a really horrible 1970s mother-in-law unit on the lot. We ended up tearing down the mother-in-law unit and building a substantial addition to the original Craftsman. Dan made the whole process seamless. We gave him a vague idea of what we wanted and he designed a beautiful addition that was 100 times better than anything we could have come up with ourselves. The architecture in the addition exactly matches the existing Craftsman...many people have remarked that they can't even tell that it is an addition. Dan knows exactly what the city will and will not approve. We did not have any trouble getting the necessary permits or acquiring approval from the planning commission. Dan and his team were clean and courteous. Our neighbors had zero complaints, which was very important to us. Dan uses very few subcontractors and those he does use are trusted colleagues he has worked with for years. We were extremely happy with Sean Simington (Simington Paint Company) and Jay and Paul Mace (Mace Tile). All subcontractors were easy to work with and very professional. Dan's estimate for the building cost was spot on. We went over budget, but that was our fault because we ended up picking more expensive fixtures than we had originally anticipated. Throughout the entire process, Dan remained readily available. He was easy to contact and always had a smile on his face. You can trust that he will make good on his promises. He was overall a joy to work with and we will definitely use him again.

If you do not read this entire review, here is everything in a nutshell: We could not be happier…read morewith Javier, Maxine, and the crew over at Custom Tile Stone & Décor. Do not hesitate to call Javier about your next project, whether it be kitchen, bath, flooring, or any home improvement project, you will not be disappointed with the results. We came to CTS&D to inquire about laminate flooring in 4 rooms, stairs, and a new kitchen backsplash. Javier came to my house, took the necessary measurements, showed us many different samples, and gave us a quote. This piece is important, because even after all was said and done, he did not deviate from the original quote. His crew not only finished the jobs in the timeframe that they had promised, but cleaned up spotlessly after each days work. It was raining very hard throughout the construction period, but the crew were very cautious to leave the house clean. In the middle of the project, we had a leak from the master bathroom down to the kitchen due to some faulty work from a previous contractor. Our kitchen cabinets needed to be removed in order to stop the leak. Without skipping a beat, Javier and his crew tackled that problem as well, took out the cabinets, patched up the hole in the wall and re-caulked everything to perfection. Because of their expert knowledge of all things home improvement, they saved us a bunch of headache for an issue that arose unexpectedly at no fault of their own. The laminate floors in 4 rooms, and the stairs came out BEAUTIFULLY. The laminate on the stairs came out a masterpiece, as it required very technical measuring to achieve the look we wanted. They even touched up some paint and patched up some places that were there before! Our kitchen backsplash turned out better than we could have imagined. CTS&D took the extra step, and put Calcutta Marble trimmings on the edges that really gave it that extra something special. We were so pleased with their work, price, timeframe, professionalism, and expert knowledge, that we contracted them for our master shower remodel. It came out beyond our wildest expectations. They were very patient with us as we looked over dozens of samples, and not once did they cut corners. Javier and his crew educated us throughout the whole process, and only used the best materials. They "hot-mopped" our shower, where others would have not, to create a complete water seal. They even extended out the shower to give us a whole extra foot of length. Javier even accompanied us to choose our custom fixtures, all while staying in budget. Throughout the shower install, they pointed out things that may have been a safety hazard left from the previous contractor, and went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied at every step. Joey, Javier's son, measured everything down to the millimeter, and created uniformity and precision in every detail of his work. Javier, Maxine, Joey, Dennis, Bob, Henry, Saul, and the entire crew at CTS&D have earned our business for life. My wife and I are a young couple who wanted professional work done without breaking the bank, and they delivered. Javier has earned his title of "House Doctor." He even was kind enough to repair little leaks, patches, and even helped haul away some of our old items in storage. We will be calling CTS&D for all of our home improvement and remodeling needs.

I had heard so many horror stories from friends and family on how long projects take. Neither I nor my friends and family could believe the final work and time it took.
