Love this store!! I was in recently and could not believe the abundacnce of flowers of all kinds. The hanging baskets were gorgous and would work well on any front porch. When I got in the store the YETI display was front and center with new colors that I have not seen before. I've been to this location a few times now over the past few months as we recently moved to the area. However I've never experienced the absolutely outstanding level of customer service provide by a woman in the paint department on this date. Emma was absolutely OUTSTANDING when it came to helping me pick out paint colors/ color schemes for our townhouse. I had a list of paint names from various brands. She spent the time to help me match other brand colors to brands provided in store (I didn't even know this was possible!) She proved to be incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and willing to help! So thankful for her service provided on 9/14/2021. I will absolutely be back to this location again! read more

This place is a joke and will prob be out of business soon. Why go here and pay more for everything than Lowe's. I stopped because was on my way home and bought grill cleaner among a few other things. When I got home the grill cleaner cap some how came off in my bag and spilled all over lightbulbs which ruined them. I quickly went back to the store to explain what happened. The manager was quick and completely unhelpful, stating there is nothing she could do. Actually this is a manufacturing error and it's something she could have given an extra minute or two to help. She quickly declined. If you are going to sell a liquid unsealed, have your associates ensure it is properly packaged. I lost out on the $24.99 grill cleaner and $18.00 lightbulbs. I really want to love this store -- they're conveniently close, have a ton of products I frequently purchase and I generally like the Ace Hardware network of franchises -- but this one is just off. The staff is generally rude and unhelpful (though good about asking if you need help, just not good at delivering it). Every-time I'm in there I overhear other customers getting frustrated with the staff. Things like walking away to grab something for them and then never coming back, etc... And I generally leave frustrated as well. I've done online pickup orders where they've pulled the wrong item then take forever to verify it's wrong after I point out their error. Their prices are higher a lot of times than the next closest Ace in Aliquippa, and they don't even price match other Ace Hardwares. Heck, they didn't even know there was an Ace Hardware in Aliquippa... told me it was a "Do it Best" and not an Ace until I showed her the location on the Ace Hardware App and how the item I had in my hand was $10 cheaper on the App and acehardware.com. All in all, don't know why I keep going back just to continue to be disappointed. read more

I was in the store with a coupon in November. My coupon was in date and was for 50% off any normal priced item under $30. The cashier called someone to the front named "Adam". I have always liked the Ace Hardware chain. This particular store is great. The staff were friendly and always available to answer all my questions. I don't know how they fit so much stuff in the space, it seems to have everything. Store was very clean. Prices are on point, especially if you hit a sale item that you will need. Biggest downside to this store is trying to get in and out of the parking lot from the highway. The plant selection isn't that great either. read more

My husband and I have shopped at this Ace hardware for many years. I ordered a shop vac that was online and available in store. Went in 5 hours later and they didn't think they would have it but it was on display in the isle beside the register. The box was large and heavy. I passed four employees, none of which offered assistance. I got the shop vac home and the tag said 89.99 I paid 116.59. When I called they said that was probably an old tag from Thanksgiving. It is now June. They would not change the price and did not apologize. I don't mind paying a little extra for service but when there is none I will just go back to Lowe's. I would buy my grills there and was going to buy our Trager there but not now. I am a customer lost. read more

Still a big fan of this tiny little store. A recent major disaster at my homestead involved something as simple as my bi-fold entry way closet door. I did something stupid to knock it off it's track. And together, me and my unhandy boyfriend managed to damage the bottom of the door, making it seem due to be replaced. This is sad, because this is a odd door height that required me having to order it custom made in the first place. And, also anyone coming into my home was greeted by a closet with it's door laying on the floor in the way. Nice. Very classy, Julie D. Sure, I am not a complete dummy. I did a Google search to see if my door could be repaired. And for about $4.50, I can buy a Bi-Fold Door Repair Bracket that fits the bottom of the door. This provides a stable hole for my door pin on which to balance the entire door. Eureka. I felt like I had found gold! So, both my local big chain hardware store website's showed that they did not currently have this treasure in stock. I could order it, pay shipping and it would arrive in approximately 7 business days. All the while, my closet contents bare for all to see. But of course, if I go there in person, they surely will have this super handy items! Well, no. H.D. didn't have it. And at least, the L. store had someone available to help me look for one and he even offered to break open a $50 complete repair kit to see if the special part lurked inside. No such luck. So, I thought of Ace in Wexford. Not exactly next door, but I was willing to drive 5 miles each way to seek my magic part! I arrive. Rush to the hardware aisle. And low and behold. My magic part! And they even had it in two sizes. And one of the sizes was mine!!! Now, I know, this all seems silly and trivial to many of you. But my point here is, they had what I needed. When I needed it. I purchased items on a Sunday and did not realize I was overcharged for an item. Went back in on Monday to get the price adjustment and Theresa said "We aren't accepting returns" before I could even speak. I explained I had been overcharged so it wasn't a return. Teresa couldn't be bothered to say- I'm sorry. She adjusted the price and then slammed my receipt on the counter saying there you go. There was no thank you. I was shocked when I called the store to speak with the manager to find out that Theresa was in charge. Theresa- don't tell me you are stressed. When your clerk makes a mistake it's time to apologize and then say thank you. Rudeness is never acceptable. Theresa needs some customer service training quickly. Recently moving to Wexford we found the need to purchase some equipment (edger, leaf blower, etc). Having no clue where to go we went to Ace. BEST move we ever made. The sales person was knowledgeable, took his time, and didn't try to up see us things we didn't need. We felt welcome the minute we walked into the store. No doubt we will be regulars in the Wexford Ace store. We like shopping local, we like their competitive pricing, and we liked their informative assistance. Purchased a Stihl chainsaw online through Ace Hardware's website. I went to pick it up and the employee said he had to go to the back to start it. He also stated that once he puts gas and oil it in - there are no returns - even if it does not work. My husband and I were not concerned since we were purchasing a Stihl (We have owned a Stihl chainsaw for 30 years.) and buying it from Ace Hardware (Both in our opinion were reputable companies.) As we waited by the back door, we never heard a chainsaw. When questioned - the employee said he had a bad shoulder. We took it home. We could not get it started. We had to wait until the "mechanic" was working the next day. We took the chainsaw in and the "mechanic" tried to start it. It would not start. He said we flooded it even though we told him it had been 24 hours since we tried to start it. He said it was still our fault from flooding it 24 hours ago. He took it to the back. We waited 40 minutes for him to bring it out. He then went step by step on how to start a chainsaw. (Once again - we have had a Stihl chainsaw for 30 years and it has never been in the shop.) Approximately 2 hours after we got home we went to start the chainsaw. It would not start. I called Ace hardware and he said it was my fault - I flooded it. I said I was returning it. The "mechanic" said ok - that's fine. When we went back the next day - the store manager said they do not take returns from online purchases even though we picked it up in Wexford, PA. She said I had to deal with the website. Why didn't the "mechanic" tell us this instead of making us drive 1 1/2 hours round trip. I asked for the box it came in. The manager said she does not have any boxes for it and it probably came in just like it is! (Are you kidding?) So we then went to the owner. The owner, as she walked away from us, swiped her hands together and said, "It is out of my hands - you bought it online. It's under warranty - call Stihl". She also added - they can be tough but just argue with them. (I bet Stihl would love to hear how she represents their products!) We will NEVER shop at an Ace Hardware. This store in Wexford, PA does not care about their customers! As we drove home, we decided to stop and a shop that works on Stihl. Guess what - they were able to fix it FOR FREE. (No warranty and no money!!!!) They said the "mechanic" for that store should get a new job!!!!! read more

Ace is a good store. However, upper management at this wexford, pa location has alot to be desired. They completely lack in people skills and are unprofessional. I am a big believer in supporting local businesses and local business owners before the big box stores, but i can guarantee that I will NOT support these local business owners. Love this store! Never thought I would buy baby shower presents at a hardware store but at this Ace, they have some very nice items. They have been patient with my questions on paint. They are quick to notice my "oh gawd I have no idea where to look" expression and nicely offer assistance without being patronizing. Also, they have some extremely funny greeting cards!!! One reviewer wrote about the owners not being professional - that has not been my experience. They have been kind and polite - even the time I saw them at a coffee shop and asked them a question. I'm also glad they have the man who owned Wexford Hardware working there. That man is not only patient; he is extremely knowledgeable!!! I will say, in my opinion, the best part of the store is Weber. He's such a darling and always puts me in a good mood. He's on the quiet side but is able to sense where and when he's needed. Updated: my husband was looking for a specific kind of fastener (don't ask me, they're all doohickies) and we went in on a day of a big sale, unbeknownst to us. My husband tried to explain to the employee what he was looking for, but the employee kept interrupting him and finishing his sentences. This store is full of contradictions. Some of the sales staff are excellent. However, the management of this store horrible. Their return policy is very strict along with applying discounts. I have also witnessed management and/or owner belittling their staff in front of customers. On February 28, 2014 (with a snowstorm pending at the time) I visited Ace Hardware in Wexford with the intent of purchasing potassium chloride for my driveway. I intended to use a coupon issued by Ace for 50% off any one regular priced item under $30. Upon arriving at the register with potassium chloride in hand I was informed that "rock salt", shovels and other such items were excluded from the promotion associated with my coupon. I was also told by the cashier that the computers wouldn't allow the use of the coupon for those products, and that I was welcome to shop for other products, not excluded. Admittedly, the coupon did say "Additional exclusions may apply". I do find it questionable why "rock salt" shovels and similar items were excluded in the month of February. One can only assume they just want to get you in the door. I posted my complaint about the exclusion on Ace's Facebook page the next day. One day later I looked at the Facebook page, and my post had been removed. Needless to say, I won't go back. read more
