I participated in the TummyTalk and BabyTalk sessions with Vanessa and absolutely loved this group! I am so grateful to have had this resource while going through my pregnancy and becoming a first-time mom. I really enjoyed the weekly topics and appreciated the way Vanessa facilitated the group setting. I really looked forward to our weekly get-togethers and highly recommend this class to all parents. read more

It's been more than a year since our classes with Vanessa ended, and I still find myself using many of the skills I learned. I really liked Vanessa's approach to parenting. She allowed our group to share any recent concerns, and often followed up the next week with more suggestions for solutions. I felt Vanessa was coming from a supportive place, and she was never judgmental. There was always room for different styles of parenting, and she did a great job tailoring her advice to us as individuals. I also appreciated that dads were allowed as many groups I looked into were mommy and me, and not necessarily open to dads as well. We also had a great opportunity to experience the Westwood Presbyterian school, see their teachers in action, and spend time with their director, Sophie, who rocks. Even if you're not considering Westwood Pres as a preschool, I would definitely recommend Vanessa and BabyTalk for you and your little one. read more

I am so thankful for BabyTalk LA. I am a first time mom. BabyTalk LA helped normalize how crazy mommyhood is. They gave great tips on everything from sleep, postpartum depression, developmental milestones, eating, etc. I am an OB/GYN myself and really recommend this class for all first time parents. My son and I made great friends with parents who are in the same boat as us. Korbi was an AMAZING facilitator. She really helped relieve all my anxieties related to being a parent. I looked forward to seeing her every week. Thank you Korbi! read more

I loved Babytalk LA with Vanessa! I never thought I would actually enjoy a mommy and me class, but this class was wonderful. We discussed a new topic each week, and I never felt judged or pushed to do anything I didn't want to do. A lot of mommy and me classes tell you what you should and should not be doing and how the first few months should look, but this class is not pushy at all! I loved the moms I met in the class as well, and it has been so nice to have a group of women to talk to who are all first time moms. I highly recommend! read more

I participated in the youngest baby group with Korbi as the facilitator. Highly recommend for first time moms and especially with Korbi. The other moms in the group were delightful and welcoming and I looked forward to our get together each week. We are looking to continue this same group with a more advanced baby class. I'm not a joiner typically but appreciated the knowledge imparted by Korbi and hearing the other moms' experiences. Two thumbs up! read more

I've been taking my daughter to BabyTalk since she was 3 months old (she is 16 months old now) - and we absolutely love it! Korbi is so knowledgeable and warm, I've truly learned so much in this class! The topics covered are invaluable and there are always fun toys for my girl to play with. I can't recommend this class enough :) read more

Great mommy and me class! Vanessa is down to earth, smart and funny and I feel like I learn something in every session. We have a sleep trainer join our sessions and that is just priceless within itself.. I love being able to ask all the questions I need about naps and sleep. We really enjoy coming every week and I feel like it's beneficial for my baby to see other babies and socialize! read more

I absolutely love Babytalk LA and highly recommend it as a Mommy & Me group. I've been attending with my son for almost a year - we started right after he was born - and it is an excellent resource for advice, support, and friendship. Vanessa is a phenomenal group leader. She strikes the perfect balance during class between giving her formal talk on the week's designated topic and inviting open discussion amongst group members about problems we are facing. Vanessa recognizes that there is a lot of advice thrown at new moms, sometimes conflicting and often confusing. She does a great job of neutrally explaining different approaches and offering her personal opinion, but ultimately leaving it to each mom to decide what is right for her and her baby. She is never judgmental. Since Vanessa encourages the moms to participate and interact in class, Babytalk is an excellent way to make new friends. Everyone gets to know each other and bonds, it isn't a bunch of strangers showing up for a lecture on motherhood. I am really grateful I met so many fun, smart, and kind women through Babytalk to help me through my son's first year. read more

I'm so glad I found babytalk! As a first time mom, I joined to really just meet other moms. Not only did I gain new mom friends but so much more. Vanessa our teacher was great with a fun laid back personality which helped make this new transition to motherhood less daunting. I learned so much from her and from the other moms that I really feel i could not have done alone. She brought in experts to help us with everything from crawling to sleep training. The class structure was laid back and welcoming allowing us all to feel at ease, talk openly and gave us the feeling that we were in this as new moms together. I would definitely recommend baby talk to new moms and would consider joining again with my next baby! read more

This class was everything I needed after becoming a new mom! For one, it got me dressed and out of the house, which was a huge feat in the beginning. It also provided an enormous emotional support from a group of ladies going through the same everything - something you can't get from your husband or google. I learned a ton and made great friends for myself and my daughter. I'm so happy I signed up! read more

I started going to Babytalk LA when my son was almost 3 months old. It's been an invaluable resource of information. Not only from the incredibly knowledgeable and kind leader Vanessa, but also being able to talk to all the other mums in my group. Each week's class has a different topic and Vanessa also leaves plenty of time for group discussion and just general questions. For each session (I believe a session lasts 8 weeks) they invite a guest speaker on a certain topic as well. After class, we get sent a summary of what was discussed, so even if you have to miss a class, you'll get the info. It's so fun to watch the babies getting older and learning more each week and starting to interact with each other. The atmosphere is always calm, respectful and supportive, no matter how different the parenting approaches in question might be. I would recommend this class to anyone who is looking to learn about babies' behavior, development, sleep training and just for general support being a parent. This was definitely one of the highlights of my week being home with the little one. I'm so sad I couldn't continue with class cause I had to go back to work. Hopefully I'll be able to join a working parent class sometime soon. Highly recommended! read more

I feel SO lucky to have found BabyTalk LA!!! As a first time mother, I found this class to be a huge support system and full of useful information while navigating a brand new baby! I learned a ton about what was normal or not normal and how to increase my baby's development in different helpful ways. We had a guest speaker that taught us a ton about movement. I still (our baby is currently 5 months old) refer to the class often in conversations re: baby. Vanessa and Paula are such wonderful leaders with a wide range of perspectives and experience. A HUGE plus is the location and parking! I have found that most mommy and me classes are in Santa Monica or in the Valley (what is that?!). It is not easy to shlep your infant, baby, toddler across the 405 or Mulholland! read more

I love taking my daughter to this class every week. Being an LA transplant and first time mom, I feel so fortunate to have found Vanessa and our group of amazing, super cool moms. What I love about Babytalk La is that there is no mom guilt or shame. Vanessa doesn't judge us when we are struggling. She demystifies our deepest concerns with a we've got this attitude. Each week we cover a new milestone. Sleep training? Weaning? Preschool prep? Gone are the 4 am google searches and am I doing this wrong panic attacks. You feel the confidence to make informed decisions for your child while knowing that someone has your back. It's been such an invaluable resource and an inclusive place of witty, empathetic and diverse moms. read more

In a world where there are so many opinions and judgements about how to raise your child and the route you are expected to follow... Vanessa is a force for good. She is so chill and open-minded. She does provide opinions but there is never that militant expectation that they are the only opinions. She creates a cool environment where as mothers, you feel you can speak openly without anyone being judgy. Instead you receive helpful feedback! And she provides lots of super information to help us first time moms along the way. I absolutely recommend other parents take classes there! They will have a fantastic experience. read more

My name is Liz and I'm a nanny to a 1 year old. I took the nanny university class with Vanessa and it was so much more than what I expected it to be. Vanessa is extremely knowledgeable in what she does. I'm super happy my boss signed me up to take this class because not only was is so much help with the little one I take care of now but with a future baby sister of his. Everything she has taught us has been very detailed. It was a very comfortable place to be in and learn all the information we did. I can honestly say I'm very prepared for Hugh and his sister but also for my children when I have any, thanks to this class. read more

This is a fun and informative mommy and me class. I started the class when my daughter was about 5 months old and Korbi is our leader with Vanessa filling-in when Korbi is out. The other babies are all within one month of each other so all of the moms have similar questions and issues. The infant group starts with a welcome song to the babies, a quick icebreaker question for the moms relating to the day's topic, a lively group discussion on the day's topic facilitated by the group leader (including prepared topic information from the leader) and then a few songs for the babies. There are nice clean toys for the babies to play with as the moms chat. The topics that are covered are all typical infant issues (sleeping, eating, playing, etc) but for some topics there is an expert in the field who presents and gives tips. I love when the experts visit because they all bring new parenting perspectives and ideas. Our group leaders are kind, patient and non-judgmental. They also provide excellent email recaps on the pertinent information after every class. As a group the moms have met outside of the class for play dates and it's nice to have a group of moms in my area! read more

Babytalk LA is such a fabulous mommy and me class! As a first time mom, the information has been really helpful and Korbi is just so lovely. All the babies are close in age and I've loved getting to know other first time moms. I really look forward to class every week! read more

Paula, Korbi and Vanessa are amazing! I really wasn't looking to join a Mommy and Me class but then my husband signed me up as a Mother's Day gift. I'm so glad he did! My first class was when my son was about 6 months. As a first time mother, I had a lot of questions and did not have family nearby who could help. BabyTalk helped to answer many of those questions an prepare you for what's to come in your baby's development. I've met many sweet moms with babies in the same age range. My husband and I also did their Parents and Me class which was great because my husband loves seeing our son interact with other babies. Overall, I highly recommend BabyTalk. They are great and very knowledgeable about anything baby! read more

The facilitators are very knowledgeable and I never feel like I'm being judged by them or my peers in the group. Recently, a pre-school administrator came in to talk about how to get your child into the right schools and the questions to ask for when touring schools. That was really helpful because as a first-time mom, I had no idea what to do. Although I love to read up and do lots of research during my own non-existent time, it makes such a difference to have an expert right in front of you where you can ask anything you want concerning your child(ren). I have also met a ton of other great moms who have babies the same age as my daughter. I would definitely recommend this class to new moms for sure --it's one of my favorite activities I do with my baby! A baby playdate and mommy playdate, it doesn't get any better! read more

Vanessa is the BEST parenting teacher! I've learned so much from her since my son was only a few months old until now and he's three and a half! I still attend her classes. She is the best resource and I'm forever grateful for her. I couldn't recommend her more! She's life changing. I recommend every mom to her. Thank you Vanessa!!!!!! read more

These classes are geared towards non-working parents. Their schedules lists a "working parents" class, but it begins at 4:30pm. They are also very limited in the number of classes available. I wish they were more accommodating to all types of moms/parents. read more

This group meant so much to me as a new mom. At first I was hesitant to join a "mommy and Me" group. I have my own friends and didn't feel like I needed it. Luckily a new friend, who was having a baby near the same age as me, asked me to sign up with her, so I did. This weekly class became my therapy! The other moms in the class I met are so sweet, we have a group chat talking about everything and it feels so good to not have to go through this all alone. We even started doing mom nights out! I love that Vanessa keeps the classes to an intimate amount. I also had no idea that there would be helpful content. Each week Vanessa goes over a different topic to discuss, sometimes about the babies and sometimes about being a mom. Again, it was like therapy and no matter what I never wanted to miss a class! I just started our second session for the next age group and I couldn't be happier with this decision. I highly recommend to any new mom looking into a class for you and your baby! read more

I was looking for a Mommy and Me class - something I could learn about different "cycles" in my newborn's life. In the four classes I've gone to, I've already gotten SO much more information that I could have ever hoped for. Not only about daily activities, but important information about traveling with a baby, pediatrics, and even baby massage! After the classes Elsa and Vanessa type up the notes, as we all have our hands full of our little bundles of joy, so no need to feel like you could be forgetting anything! Its a great group of mommies to boot! I'm excited for next set of sessions to continue learning/growing and laughing along with all the other parents! read more

I attended the Mommy and Me group. Vanessa and Elsa are great. They are very approachable and knowledgeable. I gained a lot of practical advice. We covered the basics of the first few months in great detail. It was nice to get to know other new moms. I highly recommend Babytalk LA. read more

I am truly so grateful to have found Babytalk and Vanessa and Paula! The classes are informative, the resources invaluable and playtime lots of fun! I learn something new every class and it is wonderful to have a place to speak with other parents about our children and about the ups and downs of being a parent. The group is so important to me, that even when my son was sick, I went on my own! I cannot recommend Babytalk enough! read more

I started going to Baby Talk soon after my son was born (I even showed up a few weeks before he was old enough to start going). Baby talk creates the most relaxed non-judgmental environment for new parents. I was able to ask questions weekly and get in depth information on patenting that is crucial for all those first time moms navigating the big milestones of their first child. I loved the more collaborative environment of this particular class paired with more professional information from experts in eastern medicine, movement specialists, estate planners, among others. My son is now almost a year old and we've both made great friends and memories at Baby talk. read more

This is an excellent resource for new moms, especially ones that suffer from anxiety like me! Every week begins with a discussion of questions and concerns, which is super helpful for swapping notes and building relationships amongst the group. This is followed by a slightly more formal presentation on a topic relevant to your baby's current stage of development. Korbi is a charming group leader, and an absolute wealth of knowledge given her background as an MFT and a mom herself! All information she provides is thoughtful, current, well researched, and well cited. The knowledge I have gained from her has sincerely helped me grow more relaxed and secure in my role as a new mom. read more

BabyTalkLA saved my life or rather my husband's. Their pregnancy group was so informative and helpful that I was less inclined to kill him during my pregnancy. They really allayed all the big fears of pregnancy, preparing for baby and giving birth. Elsa and Vanessa are both parents, so not only are they informed, but they have been there and understand what you're going through. I would recommend that all first time moms and dads take the pregnancy group. I then signed up for the mommy and me groups. And again, I learned so much. Especially about sleep. They helped me get my four month old on a nap schedule. I didn't believe it would work, but they were always available via email to answer questions and after a week my baby was sleeping soundly during the day. I don't think I could have done that on my own. The other great thing about the mommy and me group is that it's a safe place to talk about all the changes you're going through, with work, spouse, baby and being a new mommy. Plus, you get to meet other moms with kids the same age. It really does take a village! read more

Love Babytalk LA -- I'm in the Expecting Parents group, and it's a relaxed, fun environment to get valuable information, ask questions, and share thoughts with other parents-to-be. Elsa & Vanessa are great at moderating the group, and helping you feel prepared without telling you exactly what to think. Their experience and personalities complement each other really well, so you feel like you have a good understanding of a couple of different points of view. They give you tangible information that really helps you visualize the specifics of being a new parent, and feel prepared. read more

I highly recommend this class for first time mommies! It was so nice to have a weekly class where we could share what we're all going through while learning informative tips. It can be daunting to not know exactly what you're doing as a first time mom and Vanessa did an amazing job creating a comfortable environment to learn and share. It was also great to make new mommy friends and we have maintained friendships outside of class! read more

BabyTalk LA is such a great find! It was such a breath of fresh air to have this location near my house and meet such nice, genuine new moms. Vanessa and Korbi create an environment of openness and comfort - which is so needed in the crazy world of learning to be a parent! Not only did I meet great people but I also got a lot of useful info on travel, sleep schedules, and starting solids. I signed my son and I up for a second session and I am really looking forward to it! This is a must for all new moms!! read more

I'm absolutely so happy to have chosen Vanessa, BabyTalk for Mommy and Me classes. Joining BabyTalk LA was one of the best parenting decisions I could have made! As a new mom, there are so many channels of information and people telling us what to do. I found BT to be a safe place where moms can come together to get advice, troubleshoot, and crowd source answers to questions and learn about our new additions. Korbi has been an incredible group leader. She is so knowledgeable on all things baby, and always offers multiple solutions for any issue. She is never pushy, and presents all of the information (including the latest research on the topic) to help new moms make informed decisions for their babies. Each week features a new topic which I have found interesting, informative, and helpful. Not only is BT a place to learn, it is a place to form meaningful friendships with new moms. 10/10 would recommend ! read more

I can't recommend BabyTalk LA enough. Korbi was wonderful. She created a relaxed, grounded, informative space for our diverse group of new moms. I enjoyed each and every week, and so did my daughter. As a psychologist, I can particularly appreciate the way that questions, anxieties, stress, and different parenting approaches were all welcomed and supported. It helps to be part of a group of people all going through similar experiences at the same time, and Korbi was the perfect person to bring us all together and guide us through some of our most trying times as new parents. I'm forever grateful and encourage anyone and everyone to sign up. read more

Fun, informative, and supportive class for new moms. Babytalk breaks all the new baby stuff down for you, so you don't have to research every little thing yourself when you're trying to take care of your LO in a sleep deprived state. Vanessa and Laura do a great job of addressing each mom's unique experiences, and great summaries/charts on topics discussed in class are provided bc we all know it's not easy for new mommies to remember everything. It's fun to see all the little babies interact too! read more

I love this group so much! I wish I'd joined much sooner! The information is so helpful! My son loves being with the other babies, and for me having that support from other mums with kids the same age going through the same challenges and joys is everything! Each week is an opportunity to talk about what's been going on with your bub and Korbi is fantastic in her knowledge and resources to help with basically everything and anything!! Highly recommend this group..it's what we look fwd to the most each week :) read more

Amazing class! Vanessa is fantastic and has a wonderful sleep and lactation specialist who attends as well to answer any and all questions. She also sends follow up emails with amazing advice that you can refer to later. Great group of moms and a supportive environment. I learned so much! Great for first time moms and moms with second and third children. Highly recommend! read more

I totally picked the right class for my baby and I! We drive from Brentwood, and it's totally worth it. A friend had told me how much better this class was than the others she had tried, and she was right. It's a smaller group (we have 8 moms and babies) and it gives you a chance to get to know all the moms and be able to ask and discuss personal issues with the group and group leader. The topics have been very relevant and helpful and the conversations we have (based on the topic of the week) have helped me learn so much not only from our amazing leader Korbi (who is the mother of twins) but also the other moms in class who are going through exactly what we are at the same time. Korbi sends a weekly update that is very informational and I can go back and reread it if I have questions. There's always parking which is a huge bonus in LA! They have little toys and mirrors and things to encourage tummy time and my daughter actually turned over from tummy to back for the first time in class! Looking forward to coming back for next session and growing up with this group and this class! read more

Joining Babytalk La was the best decision I made as a new mommy, and now as a mommy of two. There is so much advice and info that is thrown at you and (at times) I would be overwhelmed and utterly confused. Having amazing, knowledgeable, and realistic teachers/ instructors makes such a difference. You can never know it all when it comes to raising healthy, confident and happy children, and certainly should never stop learning. I couldn't wait to sign up for the classes with my second child because I have forgotten so much already and things/standards etc are always changing. I always leave hopeful and excited to implement suggestions made in class. Getting out of the house, especially during the first few months in solitude with a newborn, is a great source for a boost of energy, and being around other moms, hearing their stories and knowing others have the same struggles is very valuable for us moms. I highly recommend the entire series of group classes they offer beginning with expectant mommy's. read more

Vanessa and Laura are absolutely amazing!! Vanessa is one cool Mom. She moderates the class with warmth, consideration and a little bit of humor (what all new mamas need!). Laura is an EXPERT on sleep. She answered all of our questions and was super helpful. What was pleaseantly unexpected was how informational and educational this class is. Vanessa sends recap emails after each session with links to products, articles and more. Her vacation packing list recently saved us on a trip to Hawaii. She is also great on email - responding to questions right away. The location is central for Beverly Grove residents and the facility is very baby friendly. I found the instructors and moms to be supportive and non-judgmental. My son and I enjoyed going to class each week and I look forward to continuing on. read more
