My son has been going to BUMO for almost 10 months now and we absolutely love it. The teachers are very loving, patient and they really care about the children and their growth- which is what we appreciate the most. They always communicate through the daycare app (nice getting frequent updates about his day!) and are transparent about everything. He has learned so much there- from singing, dancing, to art, performing at special events and celebrations. We cannot thank the teachers and staff enough for their care of our son. As for the daycare, it's very clean and the co-working space is amazing. I am often juggling work calls and meetings in the morning and it's quite nice to have that convenience (co-working space) at your finger tip. Lastly, the outside playground area is quite nice for being located inside a mall. It's enough space for the littles but may be a little tight for the bigger kids. Ms Darlene, the new director, has really done a splendid job in sprucing up the new playground (and classroom curriculum)!! Thank you to Ms. Mae, Ms. Linda, Ms. Camilla, Ms. Karely, Ms. Erica, Ms. Alina, Ms. Malia and Ms. Darlene. Xx Bumoparent (BC)

Amazing place- just what we needed! Accredited place run by professional staff and enrichment activities is way better than home nanny in my opinion. I don't mention specific staff members names because all of them are amazing. In the first day they even assigned one teacher to each child to help the children acclimate. We receive daily photos and updates to our phone showing the activities our child is experiencing which is very nice. You can get daily healthy meals for little extra, and free snacks. The place is beautifully designed. Very high end clean design it's just fun to step in there. I bought a book about high end toys and furnitures for children, and was impressed to find many of the items from the book in Bumo. Highly recommended !!

A true lifesaver. This is just what I needed to get my sh*t done during the day. At home, it's been almost impossible to WFH with the toddlers but it's almost been two weeks since my son and daughter and I have been going to Bumowork and I almost can't believe how much work i'm able to get done. Really happy that I can focus on work for a solid few hours with NO DISTRACTIONS knowing that my kids are next door learning and playing with the best teachers ever. Plus, they have the cutest outdoor play area to run around and get their wiggles out so I don't have to worry about my kids being cooped up inside. The staff is SO KIND and super professional. My fav part is that they send you cute updates on how your LO is doing whether or whether not you're at the space working. So I can step away to grab lunch, shop a little and come back knowing what my son's been up to and learning. So so happy to be here and highly recommend if you're a working parent who is able to work remote or have a flex schedule. P.S. MAMAS - super random but they also stock up the kitchen with my fav multi vitamins from perelel - super chic clean brand i personally love and pleasantly surprised to see them here.

We love going to Bumo, all the teachers are so warm & caring. It can be scary trusting people with your little ones but everyone who works there really cares and loves working with the kiddos!! The space is also well maintained and a clean environment!

Pros: - the academics are excellent, especially when it comes to learning to read. - cannot say enough good things about Ms. Gia! - they enjoyed coming to school and loved their teachers - there is a true commitment to the value of bilingualism Opportunities for growth which I don't think could be learned from a tour or handbook: - traditional binary gender stereotypes are reinforced with explanations or comments like "boys like to play more rough" - there is a missed opportunity to engage with parents as equal partners who can add value. - I wouldn't mind sacrificing the academics a bit for more time spent on social emotional content, such as how to navigate conflict on the playground or being inclusive of all classmates or celebrating growth and transitions Would I choose a different preschool if I had to do it all over again? I don't think so. We would still have chosen this school. It was a solid start to our children's school experiences.

The biggest, loudest red flag is their snack menu: skinny POPCORN and RAISINS, two of the most commonly known choking hazards. The admin confirmed their snack schedule is up to date, and indicated "nothing has ever happened before" when questioned about the popcorn and raisins. Well, I'm glad none of the kids under your supervision have choked as a result, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Any decent preschool / day care would not endanger their littles. On top of that, the teachers looked tired and the playrooms underwhelming. I observed a couple of children practicing writing, yet they seemed dim and not as engaged or as happy as other kids I've observed at other schools. No, I would not recommend this place. I would stay far away.

No one asked me to write this review. I am not being rewarded in anyway and it was not required. (As some have asked below.) It is one of the very small things I can do to help this lovely school in return for all they have done to help my daughter THRIVE since she started. As a 40 year old first time mom I was nervous to leave my daughter. We also had some pretty brutal experiences at another care facility and a bad run of nannies. Mrs. Julie embraced us from day one with open arms and gave our family a safe place to land. When we drove away from school on the first day my daughter cried out: "Goodbye kids, I LOVE YOU." When we had some bumpy days with tears, I watched the teachers scoop her up with huge hugs. She paints, she dances, she learns songs, she plays hard and then she naps like a champ the minute she gets in her car seat. She is WORN OUT! We started with 3 days a week, and ramped up to 5, and now she even naps a couple of days at school. I have never ever worried about her safety or happiness at this school. All of the staff are always fully engaged and dedicated. They are all lovely, sweet, kind women, with great personalities and all have a great sense of humor. I have never seen any staff on a cell phone, ever. Which is unheard of today. Mrs. Julie and her staff do SO MUCH for EVERY holiday, that I barely need to do anything on my own at home to celebrate! This school has literally saved my family in our hardest times. I love the staff and in the last six months I have watched my little baby learn to feed herself all the way to performing in a play, to memorizing songs, and exercising amazing manners with friends. Every aspect of her childhood that I may not have "time" for or I might "lack" raising her on my own, I feel like they have my back and are helping me cover the little things - to collectively raise her into a whole human being. I went to a catholic school as a child, and if you did as well, and might remember things were maybe outdated, this is not like that. This is very modern. *If you work remote, after you drop off kiddo there's a great cafe walking distance to the school. BONUS: This is also the most affordable preschool I found in the area, BY FAR, and in this economy we all know that matters. I cannot say enough. If they still have a spot, take it.

Ms. Bonnie runs a fantastic school, creating a highly consistent structure and warm environment for kids to learn and grow. Ms. Isabel is the most patient, caring and present teacher I've ever met and my children absolutely love her. Our oldest attended after he turned 4, during the pandemic, when MDG was one of the first preschools in our area to reopen. We just left another preschool close by that neither kid enjoyed attending (they resisted daily). After just one day at MDG, our kids were already at ease and so comfortable that drop offs instantly became a breeze. The garden, incredibly sweet children, fun pets and animals (bunny, turtle, frog and Ms. Bonnie's dog)...being at MDG was (and still is) truly a magical enclave for our kids. The pandemic was awful but a (life changing) bright spot for us was enrolling our kids at MDG. They did such an amazing job during the most difficult times and really unlocked our oldest son's appetite and joy for learning. He excelled in math particularly there and they laid a foundation for his reading skills. Once he hit Kindergarten (at public school in Culver City), his reading skills picked up rapidly and he became capable of reading on his own by end of Kinder. As for our younger son, he has basically grown up at MDG. He started at age 3 and has now been at MDG for 3 years! He's learned SO much there...reading, writing, math, art, music, numerous cultural traditions, building friendships, manners, yoga, natural science and even complete potty independence! Even though we moved 20 minutes away, we kept him at MDG because it's truly his second home. He feels so safe here and has really thrived from the education, friendships gained and life lessons learned. He is starting Kinder in 2 months and while he is certainly ready for it, I know he will miss the school, friends, Miss Isabelle, etc dearly. Lastly, a note on Montessori method as someone who was new to it and a little weary of a formal structure for young kids. I understand now that kids thrive under structure and consistency (and boundary setting!), and while it was intimidating at first (just for me, not my kids at all), a method of schooling does not dictate how caring/loving teachers are for the children. Our kids were so well cared for because this school is operated by professionals who genuinely love teaching young children. Montessori, to us, is really a methodology of teaching both academic and life lessons, through individualized attention and focus on the learner's interests. Because the child learns within the context of subjects he/she enjoys, learning becomes much more relevant and enjoyable (even though it's technically called "work"). There is much more independent learning, which helped to build determination and confidence with our children. Plus, the teachers (typically Ms. Isabel + a TA) are there to guide and help the child when they encounter struggles. I highly highly recommend visiting MDG and meeting Ms. Bonnie and Ms. Isabel if you are looking for a preschool in the Westwood area. I'm confident you and your child will be delighted by the school and the experience as we were.

I can say with near certainty that you can't go wrong with Piper. Yes, the building is beautiful, yes the teachers are great, yes your child will leave with an amazing education, but I hope you find those things in most any school you consider. What makes Piper Preschool magical is all the space between. It's the kindness, patience, understanding and community that truly sets it apart. It's a place where my kids have made mistakes without judgement, where teachers have kept a close eye on their growth while helping them through the major stepping stones of their development (potty training, friendships, speech, big feelings). It's a place where I can walk into the admin office at any time to chit chat because the door is always open for dialogue, and it's a place where the parents are welcome every day as true members and participants of the school (the community room was practically my office for awhile). Piper Preschool is a socially and economically diverse school (which was very important to us) full of warmth and kindness, where everyone feels loved and appreciated, from the child to the parent. And when the time comes for your family to start thinking of Kindergarten, you will have a team of teachers and admin who know you and your child intimately and will help guide you through the process, whether that be to public school or private. On a last personal note, Piper Preschool really has been an extension of our home for the past 6 years. My kids have made lifelong friends at Piper, but so have I. The teachers have held my kids' hands through their own ups and downs, but they've held my hand through them as well. Piper has set the bar quite high as it relates to the kind of education and community we want for our kids and family, and we're very blessed to have had it for 6 years.
