Wanted to provide an update now that we've worked with Madalyn for baby #2! She made sure we felt prepared and knew exactly what to expect with my induction. Because of that, I felt confident advocating for myself and going at my own pace when the hospital was trying to rush things along. I highly recommend Madalyn for both her doula services and birthing classes. So grateful Madalyn was there for both of my birth experiences! read more

Madalyn was amazing. We're due in a few months and did her birth class at the perfect time. We couldnt be more grateful that we found her! She has such an amazing amount of understanding and compassion (and charisma!) - and explains everything very clearly of what to expect throughout the final stages of pregnancy, labor, and even early postpartum. She gives great tips along the way and shows you all your options throughout that journey. Love her and couldn't recommend it enough! Even my husband (or as Madalyn calls each partner: coach) also feels confident now as we navigate these precious stages of birth & newborn life. 10/10! read more

Madalyn is a powerhouse of passion, experience, and 30 years of information. My wife and I attended several other classes with our local hospital and, after being in Madalyn's class, we knew everything the hospital tried to teach us. I recommend her class for anyone approaching parenthood. We are now as prepared for The Great Adventure as two new parents could hope to be! If only my my mom had taken a class like this. I don't know where we would be without Madalyn! We couldn't love her class more. It's incredible how much we learn in each session. Me and my husband feel so confident and empowered going into birth all thanks to MM. I am sad that we only have one class left, I just want to keep learning more and more from her! If her schedule allowed, it would have been a dream to have her as my Doula, but learning from her makes me the most grateful. She will always be my #1 rec to any mamas / parents to be! I'm so happy we booked a birthing session with Madalyn! She's warm, kind, extremely knowledgeable, pushes you to advocate for yourself and most importantly really cares! I booked a 1:1 private session in my home and I'm so happy that I did because it created a safe space to ask all of our questions and I appreciated the one on one time. I also loved that she used to work at the same hospital I'm delivering at so she was able to give me tips and what to expect. Overall, my husband and I left the session with our questions answered and feeling a lot more confident! Thank you, Madalyn!!! read more

Just recently finished our online birthing class series and had an amazing experience. Obviously with the pandemic things are a bit unusual and we've been very concerned about having our first little one during these times as there is less support services available compared to pre COVID-19. This series alleviated our fears and apprehensions both about the birthing experience overall in addition to current practices and limitations surrounding COVID-19. We had an awesome group of 4 other couples in addition to our awesome instructor/coach, Madalyn. The experience with online group session was actually pretty good. We were able to connect with others, share experiences, and learn in a safe and supportive environment. read more

My partner and I took the in-person Childbirth Prep Class in January. Frankly, we felt like a deer in headlights before starting this class and walked away feeling very comfortable with what was ahead. We covered every possible part of the birthing process and what to expect. I was personally very scared, and now feel confident and understand what I want my birthing experience to look like (in theory!). Thank you Madalyn for empowering me with knowledge in this journey! read more

My wife and I saw Madalyn for her birth prep classes and were SO happy with her! She explained everything clearly and provided a ton of invaluable information; we both felt so prepared post series. Madalyn's One with Child Birthing Class is a MUST TAKE for all expecting Father's and probably all expecting parents! As a first time expecting Father I had no idea how to best support, assist and advocate for my wife and unborn child. I left this class feeling prepared and empowered to jump into action. Madalyn gave us the knowledge and confidence to ease our anxieties through this intense time in our lives. We can't thank her enough! read more

Madalyn is incredible! I feel so much more prepared and confident about going into labor. She gives you the knowledge and tools to feel empowered to speak with the nurses and doctors during labor, know what to expect on the special day so you can enjoy the process. I do the stretches and positions she recommended on a daily basis which help with my Braxton Hicks contractions and will be very helpful positions during labor. Also, she has such a fun personality which makes the time fly by! Highly recommend you take her class! read more

This is a long ass review but it's important that you know how awesome Madalyn is! Don't have time to read it all? Read this: HIRE HER!! Madalyn was such an asset and fine contributor to our birth story. After some research and interviewing other doulas, no one could match Madalyn's experience and personality. She stood out and my wife Dana and I were committed. Her approach was exactly what we were looking for, a perfect balance between crunchy and evidence based. After hiring her we learned that she also taught birth classes. We took both her spinning babies and birthing classes. These were so informative and hands on. She made it very engaging, fun, and taught me so much about my role in the process and prepared me for what Dana was about to experience. With this knowledge and exposure I was well prepared and confident. She informed us about our legal rights and options for different scenarios at the hospital.(too many horror stories) Dana wanted to try for an unmedicated birth with the least amount of medical intervention. Madalyn and her classes prepared us mentally for the perfect labor we experienced. I'm not saying she guarantees a perfect birth story but she was crucial in Dana's mental and physical surrender in the birth of our daughter. We labored for 14hrs before our daughter was born. Dana and I labored alone at home for 10.5 hrs. Madalyn met us at our place and helped me and Dana get through the tougher contractions. Never did I feel excluded from the process. Madalyn was great support and allowed for me to prep our hospital bag, grab a bite and rest. When it was time to head to the hospital, Madalyn rode in the car with Dana and I talking her through the tighter hardest contractions. When we landed at the hospital Madalyn took charge and brought all the staff up to speed. She rolled in there like the pro she is. Firing off info at the nurses, ghb negative, contractions are 2 mins apart, can we check what stage baby is in, Dana would like to try to push in this position etc. I was able to stay present with Dana in the best experience of my life. 25mins after we arrived at the hospital our Beautiful Daughter was born. Madalyn is a bad ass. She is very fit and knows female anatomy so well. She is very knowledgeable of different positions to open up the pelvis and help progress labor along. I suggest taking her classes as those positions are practiced and encouraged as homework in the later part of pregnancy. Madalyn has that tough straight to the point NY attitude that we liked. After the birth she came over for our post pardon visit and made herself available for any questions weeks after our Daughters birth. My point in this book length review is Madalyn is the best and you should hire her if she is available. I'm so happy she was a part of our daughters birth story. read more

My wife and I recently took Madalyn's birthing classes, and she was AMAZING. The classes were efficient, and she was a wealth of knowledge and information. Not only is she smart, but we loved her holistic approach and method behind the whole process. She is sweet and funny, too! We highly recommend. Thank you, Madalyn! read more

We took Madalyn's in-person birth class in February and really enjoyed the experience. The class was held at Origin in Brentwood and provided the right setting for Madalyn to not only review her materials in a comfortable group/discussion setting where we could spread out, but allowed for us to practice some of the birth prep movements and stretches she recommended. She handled our many questions with ease even if they sometimes took her off track a bit. She is so knowledgeable and her materials skew towards an intervention free birth, but at the same time she realistically ran through many different scenarios where interventions may be required and even elected for the mother's and baby's benefit based in her experience and evidence. No judgment, just knowledge and support! We feel so much more prepared for our upcoming birth. Thanks Madalyn! read more

She made me feel informed and ready to deliver, and she helped my husband become my perfect labor coach. I felt totally supported. And now have an amazing baby! Highly recommend her class. read more

We took Madalyn's birth prep class at 35 weeks pregnant. She is absolutely well trained and highly informed on current hospital and birthing procedures. Informative class covering a range of important details - including step by step what to expect in the hospital. Highly recommend for first time parents. Madalyn was knowledgeable, open to answering ANY questions and made the class fun even when talking tough topics. read more

I don't have enough words to say how grateful I am for Madalyn. Although my partner and I have been in a labor and delivery room before, this time will be different. We have never left the hospital with a baby. Before taking this class, we felt so unprepared and scared. Our healthy baby girl is due in a couple weeks and Madalyn has helped us feel as prepared as possible. She has not only helped me feel confident and strong for what's to come, but she has also helped me understand there are a lot of choices I can make/discus with my doctor that aren't always given as options at a hospital. I would highly recommend taking Madalyn's class!! read more

Madalyn is simply AWESOME. I took a birthing course with her and I really recommend her to all expecting, especially first timers! Her class teaches you so much and left me so much more calm about the the pending arrival (specifically the labor part) of our little guy. The amount of knowledge that was thrown at us during the course was simply amazing! read more

If you are reading this and are on the fence about taking a birthing class or a spinning babies class, this here is to tell you that Madalyn's class is gold! I had the pleasure of attending the Spinning Babies class, and it was perfect. The setting is intimate as there's a maximum of 5 couples per class, and it's just what you need for a hands on class showcasing all the movements, positions, excercises etc. I had personally purchased the spinning babies parent class online, and that was very informative, but nothing compared to being able to experience the class in person, being able to get feedback on what you're doing and how you're doing it. Madalyn's enthusiasm and passion for her work is contagious, and you leave her feeling empowered, energized and confident. If we ever have the opportunity, i would love to have her as part of our team welcoming baby earthside. read more

Madalyn is a sweetheart! She is highly knowledgeable and thorough. We took her birthing class series and left with so much insight and information that helped our fears diminish. Her classes are long but worth every penny! She heavily focuses on research-based evidence information, which we found vital for our learning process. She makes you feel empowered, and even though our meetings were virtual, it felt like we were in the same room with her the whole time. Her stretches and positions have really helped alleviate any discomfort I've had in my last trimester. read more

What a wonderful, informative, and supportive class. Madalyn is full of energy and many years of knowledge. We are so appreciative we took this class as it armed us with so much information and gave us courage and comfort going into labor. I would recommend this for any first time parents who want to feel empowered, informed, and at ease as you approach labor. My husband loved it and took so much away from the class, but mainly learned how to be the best coach for me and my needs. 10/10! read more

I had such an amazing experience having Madalyn as my doula. My labor was 28 hrs long but I feel I had the best labor and birth experience possible. This being my first child, I could not haved asked for more. Yes it was hard and painful but with the right support, I was able to do it. I did my research for doulas one day and happened to find Madalyn. She was so helpful during my prenatal stage. She gave me a lot of info and useful exercises. I even took some prenatal yoga classes which she recommended. I learned a lot of useful stretches that helped me once I was in labor. During my labor, I sometimes would forget to keep myself moving during the contractions just because it was painful, but she would remind me to keep myself moving. I also wanted to be at home for as long as possible to avoid getting an epidural. With Madalyn's help and her tens unit, I was able to succeed in my birth plan goals which was to go without an epidural. I was kept well hydrated and feed enough snacks to keep up my energy. She stayed until about an hour after I gave birth. Later on the week, we scheduled a post partum visit. If you're looking for a doula for your labor, then look no further. I highly recommend Madalyn for such an occasion. read more

This was such an informative three class series. Considering this is in preparation for my first child, I feel so much more at ease and far more confident than I did prior to taking these classes. There was so much that surprised me. Madalyn really knows her stuff and is able to speak to her experiences as a mother and a doula. My hubby appreciated it as well. We feel ready for the birth of our daughter now. Let's do this! read more

Madalyn was our doula for our first child. She was super professional, knowledgeable, and best of all, she didn't take so many clients that we'd be on backup number three during the birth. She prepared us really well, both in terms of knowledge and supplies. When my wife finally went into labor, she was prompt and helped her delay at home for a long time. At the hospital, she was super on top of things, helping my wife with positions and breathing and letting me catch a breather fairly regularly. Thanks to her, my wife managed to achieve all of the goals in her birth plan, something I'm almost sure we wouldn't have accomplished without Madalyn. I cannot recommend her more highly. I'd be happy to provide any additional commentary or advice if anyone wants to message me. read more

Madalyn was wonderful! So thorough with her info and teaching and I feel prepared now to give birth. I love that she uses evidence based data. I highly recommend her class. Thank you Madalyn for all your help! read more

This review is for Virtual Doula Support Review (Virtual Consultant) TL;DR - 10/10 Madalyn was everything you could want in a doula and more! She advocates for you and makes sure your birth experience is something that you can look back upon with pride and joy. Without writing 50,000 words it will be impossible to convey how much she helped both me and my husband but here it goes: I am a first time mom that had my baby during COVID. Because of the pandemic I was only allowed one support person in the hospital during labor which was my husband so the doula support needed to be virtual. Although Madalyn was not able to be with us in the hospital her support was invaluable! To have someone we trusted we could call any time before, during, and after the birth was such a huge relief. You can tell she really cares about her clients and makes every effort to make your birth experience one you can look back on with joy. Pre-birth support: During your pre-labor meetings Madalyn has her own scheduled for what she talks about at each appointment but is happy to discuss any concerns we had about anything. What was very helpful to us was Madalyn's experience with creating a birth plan. My husband and I did a ton of research and created a birth plan but when Madalyn looked over it with us she found a couple things that were missing. Sure enough, those specific items came up at the hospital and thankfully we had discussed how we would proceed beforehand. Without Madalyn's input we would have been Googling and trying to make a rushed informed decision. Birthing classes are nice but to have the one-on-one experience with Madalyn was so much more helpful and gave me the confidence I needed getting ready for the big day. Virtual labor support: When unforeseen circumstances came up (I was scheduled for an induction because of high blood pressure) I realized my original birth plan was out the window. Madalyn helped me stay calm and in the moment. You have a plan going into the hospital but it's impossible to plan for everything and to have Madalyn there via Zoom (video chat), text, and phone was a game changer and really helped us. From when we arrived at the hospital to when our daughter was born it took 48 hours and 4 minutes. Madalyn was on standby and available to us the entire time, texting with my husband who was giving her updates as things progress. Several times when a doctor or nurse came in and were asking us to make decisions on how to move forward. We were able to bring Madalyn into the conversation so we felt confident we were making the right choice. Madalyn won't make medical decisions for you (because she shouldn't) but she will talk through anything with you to make sure it's what YOU want. Some nurses and doctors will try to manipulate you into doing something not because it is medically necessary but because it is more convenient for them. Madalyn is there to make sure YOU are the PRIORITY. Towards the end when labor was really starting to progress and we were nearing the pushing stage I had Madalyn on Zoom next to me the entire time. She helped advocate for me to push in a position that I was comfortable pushing in (on my side instead of on my back like both the doctor and nurse were pushing for out of convenience for themselves). Madalyn even directed the nurse on how to set up the bed properly and pull out specially foot holds from the side of the bed the nurse didn't even know were there (seriously!? Madalyn's amazing). Once the baby came and she was placed on my chest Madalyn was there until she had the chance to congratulate us. Then, she signed off Zoom and let me enjoy the first hours of my new family. Post-labor support: Once we were moved into postpartum at the hospital and got settled we Zoomed with Madalyn again kept her updated with how recovery was going. Again, it was easy to tell how much Madalyn really cares about her clients. She just spent over 48 hours on stand by during labor and she was still following up, making sure I was okay! Just over a week after we left the hospital we had our final meeting with Madalyn. She was able to give me advice on nursing and made sure my recovery was going smooth. Out of all the choices and decisions I've made the past 10 months preparing for labor and life as a mother I'm confident the best was hiring Madalyn as my doula. Although she wasn't able to be in the hospital room with me the virtual support she was able to provide was amazing and now that it's over I wouldn't want to change a single thing about my birth experience. Madalyn's support and guidance was priceless and any woman would be lucky to have her as a doula.. Thank you, Madalyn!! read more

Madelyn is so knowledgeable and amazing. I feel 100 times more comfortable now heading closer to the due date

I was referred to Madalyn by my OBGYN to take birth classes. However, once I realized that Madalyn also provides exercise and fitness coaching for pre and post-natal mothers, I began seeing her in the gym too! Madalyn has been a huge reason that I have felt so great throughout my pregnancy. She keeps me moving and is always there to answer any questions I may have about pregnancy and birth. My husband and I are currently taking her birth class as we approach our due date about a month from now. Her class is so informative and we have gotten so much out of it! We took Madalyn's virtual childbirth classes in October of 2021. Don't know what we would have done without the classes! So helpful and extremely informative. Some of the best things about her classes: her demonstrations (i.e., what different stages of labor look like), details of what to expect including visuals, crucial pro tips nobody ever mentions (go for the soft toilet paper!), explanations of all types of labor and stages (loved the labor cheat sheet!), direct suggestions for dads to support mom, how to advocate for yourself during labor, post partum tips and so much more. One of our favorite parts of the class was the practice sessions we did. It really helped us know and be confident when we were doing different positions during labor. Thank you so much Madalyn. We appreciate you and all that you do for families. read more
