We had the absolute best birthing experience possible with support from Giuditta. She provided a very clear overview of what to expect at labor and delivery prior to the birth of our daughter. She gave us two house visits in advance of the birth that allowed us to practice different partner positions at home for early labor that we successfully used for the real thing! When it came time for the actual birth, she was a fierce advocate for us at Cedars Sinai Hospital. She ensured we had the best and most experienced team, she also coached me (the mom) through the process with a loud and clear voice which I could follow until the baby arrived. For postpartum care, she provided a sense of ease when we arrived home and everything felt unknown and scary. She gave me (mom) tips on breastfeeding in person, she showed us how to bathe our daughter and made us feel comfortable holding her in different positions. Finally, she is incredibly responsive and always provides a sense of calm in her communications. From both a practical and emotional standpoint and as first time parents, we could not have asked for a more positive experience with a Doula. She is worth every penny! -Hannah read more

We just absolutely loved working with Giuditta. She's so knowledgable, empathetic and kind. From our first meet and greet over zoom, I knew I wanted to work with her. She has an INCREDIBLE amount of resources to share, videos, her book, her website with recommendations, and her own incredible expertise after nearly 1200 births. She also just has a wonderful personality and vibe. Definitely the person you want on your team. She advocated for me in the best way, gave my husband a break at the right time (just before I went into active labor...she knew!), made sure we had a delayed cord clamping, helped with our birth plan! She also filmed my birth, which is something I will treasure for the rest of my life. She is a lactation consultant, so she had my baby latching within 30 minutes of birth on both sides! I feel very lucky, my baby has been exclusively breastfeeding ever since. She made 4 house visits, two before the birth and two after. The visits were also invaluable! She was able to help my husband and I practice laboring positions and prepare for baby on one visit, the next visit she took a look at our nursery and our set up. The final two visits postpartum, she helped us learn to play with our baby so she will have more productive feedings and sleep, and the final visit she showed us how to do our first bath. She's a genius. I honestly wish that every pregnant person could work with her. If you're on the fence, I'm here to tell you, Giuditta was one of the most important and instrumental people in my pregnancy, birth, labor and postpartum. read more

Joy In Birthing - Just after birth! Thank you Giuditta! - Doulas Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Giuditta was a game changer and you absolutely should work with her if you get the opportunity! Before baby arrived, Giuditta was able to provide such comfort in terms of preparedness and things we didn't know we could prepare ahead of time. And especially given my first birth was via induction, Giuditta gave both my husband and myself so much comfort throughout the process, even when chaos ensued I wasn't worried and she was ultimately the reason I had such a great experience! She even woke to my husbands call at 2am. And the best part was my OBGYN asking me for her info at my 6-week follow up appointment, he said she's the best Doula he's ever worked with! I couldn't agree more!! read more

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to take the time to share just how transformative it was to have Giuditta by my side before, during, and after the birth of my first child. Words truly cannot capture how grateful I am to have met Giuditta and to have had her as my doula for this life-changing journey. From the moment we connected, her presence was calming, empowering, and deeply supportive. I had hoped for a natural, non-medical-intervention birth, and Giuditta made that possible. She gave me and my husband the confidence and knowledge to prepare for this experience, walking us through every step with care and clarity. Toward the end of my pregnancy, I faced unexpected complications when I couldn't go into labor spontaneously. Giuditta was an incredible advocate, helping me work with my OB to safely wait an additional 1.5 weeks before induction. Her guidance and reassurance during this time were invaluable. Even though I eventually needed to be induced, Giuditta was by my side in the delivery room, supporting me through every moment. She guided me into positions that encouraged my daughter's safe delivery, used acupressure techniques, and employed calming pain management strategies that made it possible for me to deliver naturally. Her expertise and nurturing presence were nothing short of extraordinary. Giuditta is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also deeply empathetic. She has a remarkable understanding of the medical system and was instrumental in helping me advocate for myself throughout the process. She also played an essential role in preparing my husband, equipping him with the tools and confidence to support me during both pregnancy and delivery. Thanks to Giuditta, I felt empowered and cared for every step of the way. Her dedication, warmth, and passion for her work shone through, and I will forever be grateful for the confidence she gave me during my first pregnancy and delivery. If we are blessed with a second child, there is no doubt that I would want Giuditta by my side again. She is truly a beautiful person inside and out, and her work as a doula goes far beyond a job--it's a calling that is making the world a better place for women like me. Giuditta, thank you from the bottom of my heart. The only downside to this experience is that I don't get to have you in my life as much as I did during that special time. You will always hold a cherished place in our hearts! read more

Giuditta is the epitome of calm in the chaos that is pregnancy, birthing, and infant care. As first-time parents, I can't imagine a more supportive and loving birth partner than Giuditta. When I was unexpectedly diagnosed with preeclampsia at 36 weeks, Giuditta helped us seamlessly pivot from a natural childbirth plan to an induction plan. Her steady reassurance kept me calm when I was induced at 37 weeks, and my son was the healthiest baby in the labor and delivery ward that night--no stress! Giuditta is deeply compassionate, and has a seemingly unending bag of tricks to help you and your family out. When I was struggling to breastfeed postpartum and spent a sleepless first night home from the hospital, Giuditta came right over the next morning to assure me and show me different techniques to make it more comfortable for both of us. She is exactly where you need her, takes charge when you need a guide, and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a doula. I tell all my friends about her! read more

As a first time mom, there was A LOT I didn't know about pregnancy and all the many things that could come up that are considered 'normal' but no one ever talks about. I was sooooooo grateful to Giuditta for her expertise and quick responses as there were times I certainly needed answers...fast. All of the many changes my body went through, she was always there with the answers to offer relief and for a first time mom, that was EVERYTHING! My husband and I were super impressed after my water broke. She came to my home and helped me through every step. Since he and I were both first timers, we NEEDED her there! When we arrived at the hospital, one of the nurses yelled her name out like she was a rockstar as she was happy to see her. When the nurses love your doula, you know you're in great hands. I can remember that moment so vividly because it really gave me a sense of peace while in the midst of so many things going through my head. I had a 29 hour labor and there were moments Giuditta knew more than the nurses. She was such a Pro. Everything that came up, I was prepared for thanks to her. Overall, I had a tough pregnancy and was in a lot of pain the ENTIRE time but I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have her to turn to. If I EVER do this again, I already know who I'll be calling. =) read more

Giuditta is a gift to first-time mothers -and fathers. She genuinely cares about you as an individual and your well-being. She was our biggest support during our pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. I ended up having a C-section and it was far less terrifying because we had her by our side, walking us through the process and answering all of our questions. She responds to your inquiries quickly, and she was present the minute my baby was born. She also helped to prevent unnecessary procedures at the hospital. She taught us how to feed, bathe and play with our baby. Throughout the whole experience, she was always calm, confident and a guiding light of positivity that we needed! She helped minimize our anxiety over everything, and it meant the world to have her guidance through this beautiful experience. She's a wonderful human being and an incredible, experienced Doula! read more

We had a tremendous experience with Giuditta! Giuditta did an amazing job making sure our delivery experience at Cedars Sinai was smooth and as stress free as possible. She was an invaluable source of information prior to our arrival at Cedars (it was great to know what to expect going in as well as what to bring), but she really shined during the delivery process. Her support, advice and encouragement were so helpful that when our healthy and happy baby was born, the doctor asked Giuditta to leave her contact information with the hospital in case future families wanted to hire her. Needless to say everyone found Giuditta's presence in the delivery room to be quite the asset. Thanks again Giuditta! Mom, dad and Parker couldn't be happier to have worked with you! read more

I like to call Giuditta my fairy birth mom - she was the biggest blessing through pregnancy, labor and delivery and postpartum. She spent so much quality time with us getting us ready for this huge life event and was an actual champion guiding me through labor. I do not understand how people give birth without Giuditta. I needed her guidance, coaching and support the entire time. Then postpartum, I truly feel that Giuditta taught me how to be a mom. I cried when she left our last appointment because she feels like such a significant part of our family now. Her services are worth every penny. I couldn't recommend her more. read more

Joy In Birthing - Doulas Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Working with Giuditta was the most incredible experience I could have imagined as a first-time mom! I had the labor and pregnancy of someone who has done it before and it is entirely due to the fact that I did so much to prepare for this birth with her. She is professional, endlessly knowledgeable, calm and confident, an advocate, and full of compassion. She is the person you want in the room. My labor was quick and I pushed for less than an hour. We would consider it a painless childbirth. Though the contractions progressed fast and indeed "hurt" from the pressure of the baby descending, pushing was the easy part. I wish every pregnant mother could have the ease I had from their first to their last. Giving birth this way has been the most wonderful experience that I will cherish forever. Work with Giuditta immediately, I will be for baby #2 and more! read more

Giuditta is an incredible doula. I am so grateful for her services and support. This was our first baby and we knew nothing! Giuditta was there to answer all of our questions (we had a lot!), taught us how to bathe our baby and was a shining light during my birth. She created the calm and peaceful environment I needed during 4 hours of pushing. It might seem small but her honey sticks and aromatherapy were godsends in helping keep my energy up during those 4 hours. She became a teammate with my OB, suggesting new positions to help the baby during delivery. I remember distinctly the OB and nurse welcoming Giuditta's wonderful suggestions. They were impressed to say the least! Looking back, I see how easily I could have had a C section if Giuditta had not been there. This is just one of many examples highlighting how incredibly gifted Giuditta is in her craft. She knows what she is doing inside and out. Babies love and trust her, and so do many families. Thank you again for everything Giuditta! read more

Giuditta was an amazing duola! From the first meeting with her I knew that she would be a great fit for me. She is a wealth of knowledge and is passionate about what she does. She advocates fiercely for her clients and her recommendations prevented me from getting unnecessary procedures. Her assistance post delivery as first time parents was invaluable. Highly recommend her services and hopefully she is still working if I have a second baby as I will definitely be reaching out to her again! Also plus is that she is Carrot certified! read more

Where do I even begin... I wish I could give Giuditta 100000000 STARS. If I were to explain Giuditta in one word, it would be; MAGIC. My husband and I hired Giuditta to be our Postpartum Doula. That was easily one of the best decisions in my life! No exaggeration. We would have been so lost with out her. The second Giuditta walked through our door, we felt a sigh of relief, you could tell she knows what the hell she is doing. Since we had a traumatic experience with our first child we were even more of a nervous wreck than the average parent. Giudiita calmed all our fears, she was direct, loving, and like I said, pure magic. She taught us everything there is to know about our newborn. Breastfeeding, the perfect latch, sleep schedules, pumping, playing, bath time, Products and remedies, YOU NAME IT. Not only was she knowledgeable about baby, she made sure to care for me as well. Helping me get naps, "me" time, and reminding me to eat! Right when we brought our daughter home, Giuditta looked at her tongue and said that she most likely has "tongue tie" she knew it within one second of looking at her! 6 weeks go by and I was having a very difficult time with the latch, Turns out... Giuditta was right! Our daughter had tongue tie! Had we have acted on it right away, we wouldn't have ever had a problem! Giuditta led us to the perfect pediatric dentist to have her tongue tie issue resolved. Her resources, knowledge, and presence are priceless. Absolutely priceless. Her cooking is INSANE. She would never ask where anything was in the kitchen, she would just figure it out. She would take whatever we had in the fridge/pantry and make an incredible meal and dessert for us. I can't begin to tell you how helpful and healing her cooking was. Her egg plant parm is a life changer. We kept adding hours because we kept learning so much from her with every single visit. My baby is about 3 months now and our time with Giuditta is coming to an end. We don't want her to go!! It makes me a bit emotional just thinking about it! We can't wait to hire Giuditta back when our Daughter is 6 months for sleep training :) read more

It's hard for me to find the words to express how grateful I am that I found Giuditta. From the early days of my pregnancy to the birth of my son, and through my postpartum journey she has been an incredible support. I really often wonder what my experience would have been like if I hadn't had her. I would single handedly credit HER with making my birth experience one that I dreamed of. She had the most incredible techniques through labor that moved my son down and out in record time, and looking back I feel that my birth was painless. I only think of the experience with the fondest of memories and it makes me well up with joy just thinking about it. I had a hospital birth at St. John and she was with me both laboring at home and then the final short time in the hospital. I had very minor medical intervention and I truly believe that without her this would not have been the case. I'll never forget playing tug-of-war with a hospital sheet with her to help me focus my pushing efforts. She's just a miracle worker and that's an understatement. Giuditta is firm but has a kind heart- exactly what you want in a doula. I could not recommend her more and urge many of my close friends to consider working with her. Her services are truly something I'll cherish forever. read more

Having Giuditta as our doula was the best thing we've done through this whole process. We have the most amazing, happy, healthy baby girl and we owe it all to her! Giuditta has been our advocate through the medical system, my rock and support through times of the unknown and our guidance on how to get through those first few days/months postpartum. I truly believe that a big part of our success in having such a joyful, happy, healthy baby is because we had the right information and resources and I can't imagine how much different and more difficult it would be if we didn't have her at our side. She is direct, decisive and incredibly knowledgeable which has been invaluable to navigate through the medical systems, hospitals and doctors. She helped us understand our rights and to have the best birth experience, the way we planned. She is reliable, kind and supportive and i can't wait to work with her again for when we have our 2nd!! Thank you so much Giuditta!! We are so happy you were a part of this beautiful moment with us. We love you forever and are so greatful for everything we learned from you. This is the first review of any kind I have ever giving. If I could giver her 10 stars I would.. Giudetta is a god send. I really don't know what my husband and I would have done without her. We planned for a home birth from the very beginning. I contacted Giudetta and from the very first conversation knew she was the one to help me on this journey. Fast forward to Labor Day.. I started early labor on July 5th having consistent contractions all day and then tapering off in the evening.. that went on for three days! Giudetta didn't skip a beat. She was there for me all three days walked with me miles, squatted with me, helped me with positions to progress labor, messaged me, mediated with me, breathed with me, danced with me, fed me and helped relax me when I was exhausted. She overseen everything that was going on and made sure I was getting the best care the entire time. I was transferred to the hospital at one point because we thought my water broke and it was past the 24 hour mark. she went to the hospital with me and made sure I was taken care of there as well. Thankfully my water had not broke and I was able to go home. That night on the 7th of July labor started to pick up instead of tapering off. I had a very strong feeling baby would be coming that night or early morning. But do to the misleading three days I was very much in denial. My midwife was up in the air as to wether she would do my home birth after the transfer which was very difficult for me because at this point I was very uncertain about how this was going to play out. Was I going to have the home birth I worked so hard for, for nine months or would I end back up in the hospital?.. Giudetta stayed positive and reassured me she would be there no matter how it worked out. She was the momma bear of all momma bears. 3:30 am on July 8th I wake up to very strong contractions that I have to seriously concentrate on. Still in denial I didn't wake my husband I just worked thru it for an hour until it was becoming very very intense. I then woke my husband who immediately called Giudetta and she instructed him to put me in the bath. The bath helped me manage my contractions so I wanted Giudetta to wait to come to the house because I was afraid it was another false alarm and she would come for nothing. It's now 5:30 and all of a sudden I felt the pressure and pain of her head drop down and in that moment knew it was serious. My husband called Giudetta right away and she was at my house within 15 min. She called the midwife to fill her in but unfortunately my midwife was an hour out. Giudetta spent 15 or so mins in the bathroom with me helping me breath before all of a sudden I felt a strong uncontrollable urge to push. She then got me out of the tub. My husband reached down and felt babies head! Instead of panic because the midwife was not yet here Giudetta calmly instructed josh and I on what to do. We got on the bed it's now 6:20am and she is giving my husband instruction while at the same time helping me breath. I went from being on my knees to laying on my back. After baby's head was out her shoulders got stuck. In that moment Giudetta, knowing all the things that could go wrong, knew the baby had to come out now! So she instructed me to flip back over and with her help, my amazing partner and the grace of god our little one popped out with two big pushes at 6:53. Baby didn't cry right away and she knew exactly what to do then as well.. she got her to cry within a few seconds and the rest is history. With her knowledge, compassion and experience she helped my husband and I deliver our beautiful healthy 8pounds 15ounces baby girl into the world. Unintended unassisted home birth! I felt safe and confident the entire time she was with me. There are no words for the gratitude I have for her. So many twist and turns, she could have walked away many times but she stayed right by my side. Thank you thank you thank you! We Love you Giudetta!!! read more

She runs a separate non-profit that matches low income mommas with doulas. I wasn't really happy with either doula they set me up with. As a first-time mom, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I assume your doula is supposed to be communicative with you, reliable, trustworthy, do what they say they will, and meet you and know your birthing plan prior to delivery. I appreciate that I complained about how uneasy my first doula was making me as she seemed unreliable and they matched me last minute with another doula but she also made me uneasy when she said she would come and see me and then didn't show up, call or text. I voiced this in a mom's group, and someone took it upon themselves to reach out to the company. The doula actually then reached out to me to tell me how disrespected she felt that I complained. I actually never mentioned the name.of the organization in my post but the mom who referred me to them saw my post and took it upon herself to see what was going on.I was then texted by the owner saying that sorry it wasn't a good fit and we can't help you, but try these places for a doula. This was maybe 3 days before my due date. Not even the courtesy and respect of a phone call to get to the bottom of things or see where I was coming from. I ended up delivering alone as I'm a single momma, and I had a very traumatic delivery. The second doula also pointed out several times that she was not getting paid to help me. I wasn't aware of that. What do they do with the donations they get then? Is that why I didn't receive the proper care and consideration? I spoke with the woman whom I took a birthing class from and is also a doula, and she was appalled by what I told her and how I was treated. read more

I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this past week, with the help of Doula Giuditta, a person I will forever hold in my heard. Around 5 pm on a Saturday, I called our doula, Giuditta, because it felt time for her help. I was already in the hospital because I had needed to be induced for a specific reason. She came in like a champion. At first, she gave me some homeopathic remedy to help me. She reminded me how to breathe. I think it was nice for my husband, too, because he got to have a break and to sleep a bit and save his energy for when we needed to push. Giuditta took care of me like a mother takes care of a baby. She rubbed my back, toweled me off after the shower, and kept my mind occupied through the labor. She was a true gift from God that day -- I don't know how we would have gone through labor without her. The most useful part of having Giuditta is that she coached me through the pushing, something I wouldn't have known how to do. She put me in different positions and helped me switch it up. She helped my husband know his role and how he could be helpful, too. After 24 hours of her being there, our baby was born. Giuditta came over the day we got back from the hospital, and was really helpful with breast feeding, too. We have one more visit with Giuditta and I am looking forward to seeing what she teaches us next. You will be in great hands with this woman -- she is truly a special human with a quality to her that I can't put into words. She will not give you strength, but help you discover your own strength within you. read more

Giuditta has made one of the most important days of my life, the birth of my first child, truly one of the most amazing experiences ever. I cannot even express into words how much my husband and I love her and what a godsend she is. She was at my side immediately when I knew I was in labor for sure, and it was such a night and day difference as soon as she came over. She completely managed my contractions to the point where I stopped feeling pain and fell into a calm state of mind. When we arrived at the hospital, Giuditta completely took charge and handled all the nurses & staff for us at Cedars because when you're in labor, you just don't know what's going on. Everything becomes a blur. Giuditta was our voice & our guide, and made sure nothing unnecessary was being done to me and that I was laboring in the best & most comfortable way possible. She incorporated effective breathing techniques, massage, aromatherapy, homeopathy, acupuncture points, & made sure my energy levels were up. I felt truly empowered and am so proud that I achieved a relatively short, and natural childbirth without any drugs or medical interventions. This just wouldn't have been possible without Giuditta. She also made sure my daughter successfully breastfed from the second she was born. My husband and I thank our lucky stars to to have her as our Doula, and we look forward to each of her incredibly informative post partum visits as well! She is an expert with babies and has a deeply nurturing connection with infants. We have recommended her to all our pregnant friends, and I will absolutely without a doubt use her for my next pregnancies. I am actually looking forward to giving birth again, and again :) read more

Giuditta had been the most incredible gift to my husband, my newborn and me In our postpartum journey. Her knowledge and experience instantly put us at ease with our first child. She taught us not only the basics, but also how to play with our baby at various stages, help him develop, eased us into sleep training, helped me with breastfeeding, and guided us with researched backed information on major decisions for our son. She was the mentor we never knew we needed, but would not do it again without her. I would highly recommend Giuditta to help mentor your family. read more

Giuditta was recommended to me and my wife by some friends. It was our first child. We didn't have a great sense of what role a doula might play in general, and certainly couldn't appreciate all the decisions and details we would encounter in the coming months. After the first meeting with Giuditta, it became clear that she would play a really important role on our journey. Her knowledge was comprehensive. Her experience impressive. But perhaps more importantly, she knew when to push. She knew when to pull. She provided invaluable comfort during the entire process. She made herself available when we needed her, she proactively checked-in, she truly cared. With her help we developed a plan that suited our beliefs and desires. During that process she always listened first, patiently allowing us to feel comfortable with our decisions. By the time the baby was delivered, it felt like Giuditta was part of our family. She brought stability to the process and was a critical sounding board and voice of reason during and after the birth. We can't recommend Giuditta enough and will forever value what she did for us and our growing family. She is a wonderful person and outstanding at what she does. read more

Giuditta was set to be my doula for January when my second baby was due. In some unfortunate yet very fortunate turn of events, I went into preterm labor almost 6 weeks early the morning right before I was set to leave for a quick weekend getaway trip. I texted Giuditta very early morning and she responded right away. She supported me endlessly through unlimited calls and texts throughout that whole weekend/week until I delivered my baby even though she had not planned to be present for my labor until January my real due date. Even though it took more than 72 hours from the time my membranes ruptured to deliver my baby, Giuditta stayed on standby that entire time to reassure me and check in on me as many times as I needed throughout the day and night. She helped me navigate through difficult conversations with my delivery team at the hospital to ensure I was making the best possible choices for myself during that difficult and unpredictable time. She was very present and supportive emotionally and physically when I went into labor. She used all her amazing tools and methods to help me through my pain and through my overall anxiety of the situation. She is supportive of the balancing of choices when it comes to both conventional and natural/alternative medicine being used throughout labor/birth. She respects whatever choices you make, and will advocate for them according to your birth plan. She is very very knowledgeable about the common medical practices and what to expect/how to speak to the medical team. She is a wealth of knowledge about every aspect of birth, breastfeeding, newborn care and more! She literally coached me through every contraction and got me into positions that worked for me and the health of my baby and her heart rate . She became a team player with my bedside L&D nurse in making safe decisions for me and my baby , and even though I had to have a little Pitocin to progress my stalling labor, she made sure I was able to get through every contraction without ending up with an epidural! This was my first time using the services of a doula, and my husband wasn't sure if it was still necessary given I ended up hospitalized in preterm labor, but once he met her and saw the magical work she does, he was beyond happy that she came to help ensure my labor was safe and managed well! Needless to say, I highly recommend Giuditta to anyone looking to be well taken care of in all aspects beyond what any regular doula what do . I believe she is MUCH more knowledgeable than just any other doula you might come across on social media , and well worth her price for her services . Even though this was a long review, I think it was important to share how much of a tremendous impact she has made on my delivery and life . My mental health and physical health would have really suffered if I didn't have her for all of her unwavering support both before during and after labor, especially since I went into labor so unexpectedly with the fear that my baby would end up very sick and in the a Nicu. Thanks to Giuditta, I ended up with a healthy baby, as natural of a birth that I was hoping for despite the circumstances, and my mental health still intact! If you can work with her during your due month, I would say consider it a privilege for you and just DO IT!!!! read more

I was lucky enough to work with Giuditta virtually for the birth of our second child. Given Covid and all the restrictions at the hospitals I felt it was really important to have somebody that I knew I could trust to help support us during our labor and be a sounding board for questions and advice, even over FaceTime or from a far. Given Giuditta's support I was able to have the natural birth I've always wanted to, even though she wasn't there with me in the room. From the weekly consultations before my doctors appointments to make sure I was being my own best advocate, to The pre-Labor classes that were so valuable for both my husband and I. My husband would say he felt like Giuditta trained him to be a Doula since she knew she wouldn't be able to be with us physically in the hospital to deliver. On the day of my labor we are able to check in with her while we were at home all the way to the hospital. She knew how to be present and made yourself available but also was understanding that once at the hospital things get busy and our communication was spotty. I also value Giuditta's post partum support and advice. Being a second time mom is much easier than the first, but you still have questions and her advice is always right :) read more

As a first time mom, I felt a lot of anxiety about the birthing process and after doing a lot of research, I decided that I wanted to have an unmedicated birth at the hospital. With that in mind, I knew I wanted to have a doula to support me and interviewed probably 7-8 doulas in the area before I found Giuditta. As soon as I spoke to her, I could sense she was highly knowledgeable and appreciated her direct but respectful style. I immediately felt like she was someone I could trust and rightfully so! Throughout my pregnancy, she was highly responsive anytime I asked her any questions - she'd always respond within seconds or minutes. She also met with me and my husband a few times to prep before the big day and showed us comfort techniques during labor. We also did classes at our hospital but her 1:1 coaching was 100x more helpful. As I got closer to my d-date, I was starting to get nervous but knowing that I was going to have Giuditta by my side really put my mind at ease. I actually went into labor 10 days early but regardless, she showed up at our house within 30 min of us letting her know that my contractions were progressing. I labored at home as long as I could with her support until she made the call that we should head to the hospital. I was 7 cm dilated by the time I checked in and 1 hour later, I was ready to push! There was a moment when I considered getting an epidural but I was also already at 9 cm and felt conflicted. I still remember her looking into my eyes and calmly explaining to me what my options were without trying to sway me in any direction. This brought me back to my original intention and helped me refocus on how I wanted to do this. 1 hour of pushing later, baby girl was out! She helped me through every contraction and was so supportive throughout the whole process. I was able to get my ideal birth experience and I'll always be thankful for the incredible support she gave me day of. Afterwards, she helped me with breastfeeding and also gave us great advice on how to care for baby girl. All in all, you're in great hands with Giuditta and I can't recommend her more. read more

When I was pregnant, I was thinking, why do I need a doula. I just don't understand what extra help they will do that mu husband can't do. After using Giuditta's doula services I cannot even imagine giving birth without her help! The main things for me were: 1. Training me and my husband to work together before labor to understand what to do when the contractions come in. She was extremely helpful in giving us guidance about things we can do in our own home to help me manage pain naturally. Because of her coaching I was able to labor at home for a few hours so I didn't need to be induced and we were able to follow my birth plan. The whole experience was hard but we were very prepared for it. 2. She was on call (and text) before during and after delivery for any questions I had or what to do when. That was super helpful especially for a first time mom. So many people give you advice but Giuditta's advice was always what I ended up doing and what ended up working 3. OMG labor. She is THE person you want in the delivery room. She put me in all these creative positions so I would be successful in delivering our baby the way that we wanted. I felt empowered and supported during the whole process. I know my husband was there and he was very helpful too but because both he and I were first time parents, it was helpful to have someone there to help us who has seen tons of these births and understands what is happening. Honestly, all the doctor had to do was catch the baby. Giuditta did ALL the work. Plus, she made it really nurturing for me with her oils, pressure point seeds and other tricks up her sleeve to make my birth experience the most comfortable for me. p.s. did I mention that after birth, she comes to the house teaches us how to care for our baby AND cooks for us? read more

Giuditta is simply the best for all things pregnancy, labor, and baby and I could not recommend her more highly! Her years of experience and hundreds of deliveries make her a true expert. To have someone like that on my team put me at ease and gave me great comfort, particularly as a first-time mom and research heavy Type-A person. There are so many instances in which Giuditta provided amazing support and guidance for both me and my husband, but there are two moments that truly stand out to me that make Giuditta an exceptional doula. First is during my labor, which was very long and very intense for the last 3 hours. Giuditta's constant support, both as my advocate and physically during labor, gave me the strength to keep going. I am convinced that Giuditta's level of support also motivated the hospital nurses to go above and beyond and I truly don't think I would have gotten that level of support from everyone in the room for that extended period of time had it not been for Giuditta showing them the way. Second is Giuditta's approach to taking care of babies. Nearly all of the guidance about newborn care is focused on getting babies to sleep. Giuditta's approach teaches you not only how to get your baby to sleep, but also how to interact and learn from your baby. Giuditta reminded me to forgo my research ways and instead trust my intuition and build an even stronger bond with my child. At 5 weeks, my baby boy is sleeping 7 hour stretches at night, and more importantly, my husband and I prioritize play time and bonding with him. Giuditta is a one-of-a-kind doula, she is no more than a call or text away and incredibly responsive, and I am immensely grateful for the role that she has played throughout such an important part of my life. Thank you Giuditta!! read more

Giuditta is simply masterful. If you are planning on a natural, spontaneous, unmedicated labor, you don't just want a doula by your side, you want Giuditta. I gave birth to my daughter and first child at age 36. I had planned to deliver in a hospital, but wanted a natural and unmedicated labor as long as there were no unforeseen complications or events. I knew I especially needed and wanted a dedicated advocate by my side in the hospital setting (other than, and in addition to, my husband). I particularly wanted someone who would know what to expect to help me stand firm in my birth plan, anticipating the pressures from hospital staff and doctors to take interventions--whether it be pain medicine or something else possibly unanticipated by me. During pregnancy, Giuditta met with us a couple times to help us prepare for labor and parenthood, and to help us know better what to expect in our journey. She was always just a phone call or text away if any questions arose in the in-between times. When my OB started pressuring me to do a cervical exam at 38 weeks, before I wanted one, and then when my OB wanted to schedule me for an induction at 39 weeks (when I had a completely healthy and normal pregnancy) Giuditta had not only prepared me for this, she empowered me with information and resources so I could make my own independent and informed decision as to how to proceed and intelligently respond to my OB with informed refusal. In the end, I went into spontaneous labor at 40w 5d. As soon as I was in labor, on a Friday evening, Giuditta came to our house to be by our side every step of the way. She gave me peace of mind that labor was progressing normally, which allowed me to labor at home more comfortably and for likely a longer period of time than I would have without her guidance. She also helped us with various labor positions to try to allow us to rest as much as possible given the timing of our overnight labor. When I felt it was time to make our way to the hospital, she followed us there. When we arrived, she immediately demonstrated her expertise to the nurses and gracefully walked the fine line of both taking control of the room and asserting my preferences, while still being respectful of hospital staff. She helped us make labor and delivery in a hospital setting feel a little more like home and a little less like a sterile hospital environment. My labor went pretty much exactly as well as I could have hoped, but after my daughter was born early that morning, I was in shock after all that had just happened. In those early moments, it was Giuditta (not the nurses) who helped me focus on welcoming our baby girl into the world and it was also Giuditta, not the nurses, who was most focused on assisting me with our first attempts at breastfeeding. Giuditta stayed with us in the labor room until we all decompressed and were ready to relieve her of her long overnight stay with us. Giuditta checked in with us regularly, and came back to visit us at home a couple times once we left the hospital to assist us in our transition to parenthood. She showed us how to take care of our little one when everything seemed hazy in the many hours of no sleep. She taught us the basics of infant care, and she even assisted us in giving our daughter her first bath. Giuditta is amazing, and I wouldn't have wanted to bring our daughter into this world without her steadfastly by my side. read more

Giuditta is not only an amazing doula and a knowledgeable lactation consultant, she is also a very kind and generous person. As a first-time mum I booked her because of her extensive experience as a doula working in hospital settings in LA. Because of AMA and underlaying health condition, I had to choose a hospital birth and I delivered at Cedar Sinai. She is knowledgeable with the delivery and post-delivery hospital process and was able to guide me through medical terminology and expanded the information my OB gave me on the pros and cons of specific procedures. I have a rare genetic condition which she investigated thoroughly in order to provide the best care. She was precious in supporting my decision-making regarding induction and her work was invaluable in the delivery room. She was making sure I was fine at all times. After a very complicated post-delivery she offered me to stay at her home for a few days before going home with the baby. At the beginning I was reluctant to accept. I just wanted to go home and start my new life with my baby and my husband. However, I was too tired from the delivery and the complications and I eventually accepted. That was the best decision I could have possibly made! Not only she was making sure I would eat healthy and nutritious meals that she would cook for me, but also she instructed me on exactly what to do with a newborn. It was a full immersion on baby and mama care. She showed me everything from diaper change to different breastfeeding positions, holding, pumping, burping, bathing and more! I was able to have 3 to 4 hours uninterrupted sleep that were crucial to my recovery. I enjoyed walking in her backyard with my baby. My husband was able to come once a day for a few hours and Giuditta taught him too. As a lactation consultant Giuditta followed up with me for several weeks after delivery. She provided great tips that significantly helped my breastfeeding journey. Thank you Giuditta! read more

Where to begin! Giuditta was a LIFE SAVER for my family in helping my daughter sleep through the night. I searched high and low to find someone who was on the gentle spectrum of "sleep training" and am so grateful Giuditta was available to help. After one visit from Giuditta and implementing her protocol, my daughter has been sleeping through the night EASILY AND CONSISTENTLY for almost two months now. No screaming, abandonment, anxiety just MUCH NEEDED PEACEFUL REST. Giuditta's gentle approach and guidance were exactly what we needed. We are forever thankful. read more

Our family is forever grateful to Giuditta. She has walked us through the many phases of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with grace and given us the greatest gift of confidence through all of the chapters. We had a natural, unmedicated birth in the hospital and she was a true advocate for us and empowered my husband to be a part of the birth and gave him the tools to do. I felt very supported. The hospital staff was asking for her advice and guidance while we were there. We felt so safe with her by our side. She is one of a kind. Her insights on baby development, milestones, and care is beyond anything you could read or find. She's become an integral part of our little family. We love her!!! read more

Not only is Giuditta a doula, but she's a well known author, teacher and expert in the world of birth and postpartum doula work, which is how I experienced her. The one day workshop she taught me in advanced doula skills for the postpartum birth worker was truly paradigm changing. Her repeated emphasis on remembering that babies are tiny humans and on reframing how we approach them, talk to them, interact with them at every level will have lasting, positive effects on my work as a postpartum doula. I truly learned more about being a postpartum doula and showing up for parents and babies from Giuditta in a 5 hour training than I did in my official "certification" training from my original doula training organization. I also really appreciated the spiritual and human side to the workshop, as well as her frank and honest encouragement to set appropriate boundaries and practice good self care as birth workers. Two thumbs way up. read more

Giuditta is the best! We can't imagine not having her in our life. She really helped my wife and I prepare for and get through the birth of our son which was not easy. And she continues to be a comforting, positive, supportive and professional wealth of knowledge and assitance even past his first year of life. One would be extremely happy and lucky to have her during any type of birthing experience. She's worth every penny and then some! read more

Giuditta's knowledge and demeanor made the birthing prep and process so much easier. But our favorite was the after birth services. She's a lactation specialist and so knowledgeable about the sleep cycle and establishing other supportive routines. She was such a calming influence and our daughter adores her. Honestly, I don't know how most parents do it without her valuable support. And the smell of freshly cooked food in the morning and a happy baby all after we have gotten a good night's sleep is the best! Thank you, Giuditta! read more

Much like the other reviewers, it is hard to write a review that does Giuditta justice. My daughter just turned 1 and I don't think a day goes by that I don't think about Giuditta. Throughout my pregnancy, my husband and I were so busy with work that we never got around to signing up for birthing classes or reading all the books we bought to prepare for childbirth. I had grand plans to do hypnobirthing, but never got around to that either. So about 4 weeks before my due date, we realized we needed help and reached out Giuditta. From our first meeting, I knew I wanted her to be my doula. She is nurturing, but firm and direct, and that's just the type of person I wanted by my side during labor. I was in intense back labor for many hours and during that entire time, she supported, advised, walked, massaged, re-positioned, and reassured me that I was strong enough to get through it. At the same time, she was a tremendous teacher and coach to my husband, allowing him to both enjoy the unique moment in time we were experiencing together and feel like he was capable of helping me through it. She was there from beginning to end for us, helping to deliver our beautiful baby girl, but her work didn't stop there. Giuditta came to our house for a post-partum visit 3 weeks after my daughter was born and what she taught us changed our lives. To start, from the day that Giuditta visited us, my daughter started sleeping through the night -- at 3 weeks!!! I could go on, but I'll stop here and just say that there is no better person to have by your side as you prepare to give birth. No matter what your philosophy -- natural birth or not -- Giuditta has an extraordinary gift that I wish every expecting couple could experience. read more

I delivered a 10 lb baby boy at UCLA Westwood totally naturally. I truly believe that without the help of Giuditta I would have given up on my wish to give birth sans drugs. My husband was very comfortable working with Giuditta and that is an essential part of having a good team dynamic. Having Giuditta help us navigate our newborn after we got home was essential especially because we don't have any family nearby. We appreciate Giuditta every day! read more

Guiditta is, in fact, "as good as it gets," as far as doulas and baby care go. My wife and I had an amazing birthing experience thanks to Giuditta's guidance. I think of her as the Michael Jordan of Doulas! Seriously. She is worth every penny and I really don't want to imagine what the experience would've been like for my wife and I without Giuditta. In every interaction, from the birthing class to our private pre-birth meeting to the birth(day) to the post-visit, Giuditta was supremely helpful, a total pro and really, flawless. I'm so happy we hired her to be our Doula. I can't recommend her highly enough. read more

I feel so fortunate to have had Giuditta at the birth of both my daughter and son. Giuditta guided us through a very long birth of my daughter. Without her support, I would not have had the strength to have a natural birth at home. She was along my side every step of the way, with words of encouragement and love, and gave me the space I needed at just the right moments. When we learned we were expecting our second babe, Giuditta was our first call. She was by our side within the hour of calling her, and helped us through a beautiful and empowering birth of our son in our happy little home. Her support comes from a place of experience and compassion. She is a wealth of knowledge and resources. She is humble, yet strong, and gives the expecting mother and father deep respect and regard through the whole process. I could not recommend Giuditta enough to any expecting family or any new parents looking for a postpartum doula. read more

We feel so lucky that we had Giuditta as our post-partum doula. We would be so lost and miserable without her. I had a very difficult recovery from c-section for my twins, and a very bad start to breastfeeding. When we came home from the hospital we were just a wreck. Giuditta came in, set up the baby station for us, took care of the kids, cooked for us (her freshly made croissants are to die for), and gave me the time to heal, guidance, and confidence to re-start breast feeding. Even though she officially bills herself as post-partum doula, we think of her as our coach. She specializes in infants and is very knowledgeable and experienced. She has a way of guiding you down the right path, without ever forcing you into it. I have recommended Giuditta to my friends who worked with her as birth doula and lactation consultant, and they love her too! read more

Giuditta is absolutely amazing - she has a gift for babies and mothers that is so rare and special! She changed my life in such a significant way, words can't even express my gratitude and the love I have for her. Giving birth for the first time is such an unknown but with Giuditta by your side, I felt like I had access to all the answers. I had a 2 day labor and a difficult delivery and she was there for me every step of the way. She was able to help speed up my slow contractions by walks, acupressure and coaching. I had some complications at UCLA and was told we had an hour to work through it or else I'd need an emergency c-section. This was not part of my birth plan! But Giuditta guided me with her expertise and we spent that hour doing energy work that got my baby's heart rate stabilized and I was able to have a vaginal delivery. That hour was one of the most incredible of my life. My nurse at UCLA was in awe of Giuditta and told me over and over again what a special and incredible doula she is...so it's not just me singing her praises! Giuditta is also a lactation consultant so she helped me at the hospital right away and I've had no issues breastfeeding, since I learned the proper technique from the get go. Even the UCLA lactation consultant who saw me the next day was impressed and said there was nothing else for her to teach me! We've been home with our baby girl for a week now and Giuditta has continued to be a huge help as we figure out what we're doing! She is super responsive by text, has come to our house at 9 p.m. to help with sleeping issues (and to provide me and my husband with a few hours of uninterrupted sleep), and has taught us so much. Our baby absolutely adores her and we now refer to Giuditta as the baby whisperer. read more

Giuditta was our postpartum doula after the birth of our daughter in May. As first time parents, we wanted some extra support. After a complicated and traumatic birth, I was having trouble with breastfeeding. Giuditta patiently and expertly guided me through various techniques to help me and the baby figure it out. Our baby is now 9 months and I am still nursing. I am not sure this would have been possible without Giuditta's wisdom and help. I am so grateful to her. She also helped us with baby basics such as bathing, routines, how to use a baby wrap etc. Due to Covid, all our meetings were virtual and so it's even more remarkable that she was able to help so much. She always responds to text or calls whenever you need her. I can't recommend her enough. read more
