As a first-time mom, I never imagined breastfeeding would be so hard. I thought it would come naturally, but the day my daughter was born, I was completely overwhelmed. I couldn't even figure out how to hold her to breastfeed, let alone get her to latch. Exhausted, emotional, and panicked, I reached out to Sarah that day. Sarah came to my house the day I got back from the hospital. From that first visit onward, she became such an incredible source of knowledge, encouragement, and reassurance throughout our entire breastfeeding journey. No matter how big or small the concern, she always responded within minutes whenever I had an emergency or needed guidance. Knowing she was only a message away gave me so much confidence during a time that felt incredibly overwhelming. What truly sets Sarah apart is that her support went far beyond breastfeeding. She empowered both me and my husband to feel confident as new parents. She encouraged us to step outside our comfort zone, even helping us build the confidence to take our baby out in public for the first time. What once felt intimidating became manageable because we knew we had her guidance and support. Sarah was there from the very beginning until the end of our breastfeeding journey, cheering us on every step of the way. Her kindness, compassion, expertise, and unwavering dedication made an immeasurable difference in our lives. I genuinely don't know how we would have gotten through those early months without her. read more

Sarah and IMMA LA came highly recommended to me through a few friends and didn't disappoint! I was able to meet once prior to labor for a prenatal session where we covered important topics related to the first hours and days post birth. Sarah then came to my house a day or so after getting home from the hospital and spent 90 minutes helping me get off on the right track with latch and positioning help. Sarah has been available to answer questions via text when needed and feels very invested in mine and my baby's success. My breastfeeding journey is off to a great start and I feel so confident and at ease. If you're looking for an LC look no further! read more

I am so glad I found Sarah at IMMA Lactation. She was incredibly helpful for me during a very tough time as a first time mom. My feeding journey morphed over the course of our three in-home visits and Sarah was supportive and encouraging every step of the way, even once I pivoted to exclusive formula. My only regret is not working with her prior to birth as I would have been so much more prepared for the road ahead. I cannot recommend Sarah more! read more

As new dad, I didn't know a dang thing about breastfeeding. For the mothers to be, show your husbands or partners this review as when Sarah aint around, they will be the lactation consultants. I was able to be at all the appointments we had with Sarah and as a result, I have some idea of what is going on. Sarah is a god send. Her tenderness, warmth, and incredible depth of knowledge showed in every appointment. Without her, we would be lost. Just be aware of how amazing she is and understand you will want to spend more time than is needed with her. (I warned you) If you have any doubts about a LC to choose, doubt now more. You have found the one here in Sarah and IMMA. read more

Reaching out to IMMA for lactation support during my first week as mom was the best thing I could've done for my baby. Being a first time mom I was uninformed and simply naive on how to navigate a successful breastfeeding journey. After a traumatic birthing experience, I needed not only education but education that also served as emotional support for me, I needed someone to listen to my specific concerns. With the guidance and support from Sarah, my lactation consultant, we were able to assess my unique situation with my baby, develop a plan, and implement exercises towards solution. Sarah's goal oriented approach was driven by kindness, empathy, and compassion. I felt heard. I felt like I mattered and my baby's well-being mattered as well. Thank you. read more

IMMA/Sarah was essential to my breastfeeding journey. I saw her at around 6 weeks when I was struggling with breastfeeding, then a few months later for a pumping consultation as I prepared to return to work. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, but also one of the most compassionate and encouraging professionals I've ever worked with. From the very first session, she made me feel seen, supported, and empowered. Whether I was struggling with latch issues, milk supply, pumping logistics, or just the emotional ups and downs of new motherhood, she was there with thoughtful guidance. She helped me find solutions that worked for us and always made time for my questions, no matter how big or small. Thanks to her, I went from feeling overwhelmed and uncertain to confident and proud of the journey I took. If you are a new parent navigating breastfeeding or pumping, I cannot recommend enough. I was initially apprehensive as my insurance didn't cover it and I had to pay out of pocket, but it has truly been some of the best money spent. The sooner you reach out the better!! read more

Sarah was a life-saver! As a first time mom with a baby that was having trouble latching, I was almost ready to give up breastfeeding. Not only did Sarah listen, but asked poignant questions and created a feasible and detailed plan of action. The office was clean, comforting, and had such a great feel to it that my baby was comfortable and soothed immediately. She had everything you would need and more in her office. We did not feel rushed at all as Sarah patiently listened and answered all of our questions, even answering my follow up questions via email. I already plan on going back for follow up consultation and cannot recommend IMMA lactation's services enough. read more

Sarah has helped me tremendously throughout my breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding is such a deeply personal experience, and as I've navigated each step of the process (including getting clued into what to expect and how to set myself up for initial breastfeeding success, which bottle and pacifier to use, along with showing me ideal breastfeeding positions that have made the process so much more enjoyable and saved my back, to navigating how to manage my supply as my baby sleeps throughout the night, and the process of going back to work and how to pump and feed to keep up with my babies needs), Sarah has been incredibly helpful, kind and compassionate. I truly do not think I would have enjoyed the breastfeeding process as much without Sarah, and I definitely wouldn't have been able to navigate the lows (diminishing supply, painful nipples) without her. I could not recommend Sarah more!!!! Don't think twice - use her for your pregnancy if you want to have a good breastfeeding experience (and she takes insurance!) read more

I worked with Sarah during my prenatal and postpartum time. My insurance covered her services before and after birth which I was so grateful for. The prenatal appointment gave me a lot of information to set me up for success and manage expectations. I also felt confident knowing postpartum, I already had a resource to turn to with any questions. We met a few times postpartum to address concerns at every stage. Having Sarah as a resource really helped make my breastfeeding journey easier. There are so many unknowns and new things to learn when breastfeeding, so having her as a resource was invaluable. My husband would also come to our sessions to learn and help remind me of the tips she offered. Thanks so much Sarah for contributing to such a beautiful breastfeeding journey with my daughter! read more

My family sought support from Josee when my baby was five months old, and my milk supply had dipped dramatically. From our very first conversation, I knew she was the lactation consultant I had been searching for my entire postpartum journey. She is incredibly kind and compassionate, and I felt comfortable with her immediately. Josee has a treasure trove of knowledge and takes the time to ask thoughtful questions, truly getting to know you, your baby, and the unique challenges you're facing. She created a personalized plan for me--mapping out a pumping and feeding schedule, recommending galactogenic herbs, and offering tailored guidance that made all the difference. Since working with her, I feel like I'm in a whole new place with feeding my baby, and our daughter is happier than ever. I just wish I had found her sooner because she has truly changed the course of our nursing journey and, ultimately, my daughter's health. I don't have enough words to express my gratitude to the IBCLCs at Imma Lactation - specifically Lana and Sarah! - who patiently guided and educated me on breastfeeding with my newborn. Sarah and Lana made me feel so comfortable and seen as I began my breastfeeding journey and struggled with milk production. I had a preliminary home visit right after birth where Sarah was able to view my space and advised me on different BF positions for optimal comfort. At the office, Lana gave me helpful tips and advice with detailed action plans to stimulate my supply and helped me improve my baby's latch and learn to work my pump. After a few visits, my baby was able to nurse successfully and I was able to exclusively breastfeed which was a goal of mine! I can't thank and recommend these ladies enough - if you are considering breastfeeding, you will benefit so much from a session with them. read more

I've known Sarah since my breastfeeding journey started with my first kid. It was because of her that I continued nursing until my son turned 1. She's very knowledgeable, supportive, and responsive. I had a wonderful experience with all of the lactation consultants I saw through this company. Everyone was so kind, thorough, and really invested in the care of my baby and myself. The continuity of care was wonderful and while I graduated from my needs after a couple of weeks, we scheduled a visit so that I would be supported every step of the way in this journey. I love that we get notes after the visits and parking is also super convenient on the street read more

IMMA Lactation has been such a blessing to our family. Feeding baby came with a lot of challenges, and Sarah and her whole team were helpful, knowledgeable, and beyond comforting/understanding. I had 1 session with Sarah prior to giving birth, which was informative and prepared me for what to expect (as much as was possible). After baby was born, Sarah came to our home and helped with my positioning and latching. She was extremely prepared with many tools, weighed baby before and after feeds, and was able to create a personalized plan for how to get baby back to birth weight. She also helped me set up my pump and provided me with correct flange sizes. Sarah was able to work with our Pediatrician and send him weight information as well. We did virtual follow-ups with both Mary and Michelle. They were both so kind and calming during a stressful time. Both sessions were great and helped us get back on track. Lastly, Sarah was very responsive via text whenever we had any random questions throughout the week. This was invaluable. Highly recommend IMMA Lactation! They will take care of you and your baby. read more

We are so grateful for Sarah and the incredible care she provided. Of all the birth team we worked with during pregnancy, she was the only one who gave us a clear and practical day-by-day breakdown of what to expect once our baby arrived. While the rest of our care team focused on the pregnancy and birth itself, Sarah was the one who truly prepared us for the realities of early parenthood. Her knowledge, compassion, and calm, reassuring presence made a huge difference in our experience. We walked into this new chapter feeling more confident and supported because of her. She reassured us and went above and beyond in the moments where we were unsure what was normal or not. Thank you, Sarah, for everything. read more

We did an in home consult with Sarah after essentially bottle feeding exclusively for the first week of life after I sustained some nipple trauma early on postpartum. She helped us get a deep latch that was comfortable in just one session and made sure I was able to recreate the latch on my own. I look forward to continuing to work with Sarah through all the phases of feeding our new baby. So grateful to go from frustrated to empowered. read more

Sarah is amazing!! We had her as our lactation consultant for my first son and she's the reason why I had an easier time breast feeding and the reason why I was able to keep breastfeeding. When we just had our second this past July, we obviously wanted to book Sarah again. We learned so much from her from latching correctly, how to use bottles, and how to pump. She taught us how to safely use everything and made sure my pump fit me correctly. We even booked her to go over how to feed purées and solids once he finished breastfeeding because we had no clue! She listens to all my concerns and teaches me how I can do things based off of my goals. I did the 90 minute session with her and we went over everything I had questions about. She's so professional yet so friendly and personable. We appreciate you so much and I'm so glad I booked you again for my second. I didn't realize how much I had forgotten and how I forgot how to get him to latch because every baby and every breastfeeding journey is so different! Thanks again and I def recommend her!!!! read more

I cannot recommend enough working with Imma lactation! It felt so hard to manage not only all the information about how to do it "right" but also all the emotions that come with breastfeeding. Nothing but amazing things to say about Sarah and IMMA Lactation! My husband and I first met with Sarah a few weeks before our baby was born and she taught us so much about breastfeeding, what to expect, recommended breastfeeding & pumping essentials, etc. After our baby arrived, we had one home visit, one tele-health visit (with Michelle) and three follow up in person visits. Each session we learned so much and were able to officially "graduate" with a healthy, growing, nursing-pro! Sarah is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, calm, and beyond excellent at what she does. I would recommend her and her team to anyone looking for guidance and support on their breastfeeding journey! read more

Working with Michelle at IMMA Lactation before I gave birth was the absolute best thing I could possibly do for myself and my baby. Michelle totally prepped me for what to expect in any situation. I felt so confident breastfeeding my daughter at the hospital immediately after my unexpected c-section. I was not confused by all of the conflicting and unsolicited advice that the nurses were trying to give me because Michelle gave me a thorough understanding of what the first week will look like. She also came for a home visit after I left the hospital and help me adjust to breast feeding at home. Before I went into labor, Michelle helped me collect colostrum which came in handy at the hospital when my baby was a little to tired to latch. She also taught me how to do it myself so I was able to collect more. After I went home from the hospital, Michelle came for a home visit to Michelle is extremely kind, knowledgeable and patient. It has been such a pleasure learning from her and I am looking forward to her coming back next week to help me get started with pumping and bottle feeding! I am so grateful for the whole team at IMMA Lactation for helping me with such a smooth breastfeeding journey. read more

My husband and I had our first baby in January and when we got home from the hospital we got some very well meaning but ultimately extremely unhelpful advice about breastfeeding and sleep "shaping." The methodology, which I knew in my gut, was way to strict for my tiny new born and not right for me as a mom either.  But in our post hospital/ birth exhaustion my husband and I tried to listen to it, which ended up upsetting both me and my baby. Thank god we had an appointment with Sarah schedule for 4 days PP and she affirmed all of my instincts and gave us a lot of helpful pointers on breastfeeding and sleep. I really can't imagine what would have happened if we didn't have that appointment with her. I can't recommended enough! read more

Working with Sarah has been an amazing experience as a first time mother. Not knowing much about breastfeeding it was recommended by my doula to think about working with a lactation consultant. After hearing about how breastfeeding could be painful, difficult, etc. I wanted to proactively learn all I could about it to try and hopefully have a positive experience. Prior to having my son, I had an initial visit with Sarah where she went over the basics of breastfeeding and gave me some information to keep in mind before going into labor. Obviously it's a bit difficult to know how breastfeeding is going to go before your child has arrived and you've given it a try, but I felt comfortable knowing that a few days after my birth I'd have a session with Sarah to answer all my questions. While my birth and labor was positive, during the postpartum care in the hospital I was told to begin breastfeeding and honestly had no idea what I was doing. As a new mom, there's a lot of info thrown at you including milestones you need to hit with your baby that can feel daunting. It was so reassuring to know that I'd have more sessions with Sarah to go into depth with all my questions. Once I got home, I had three sessions with Sarah where we covered breastfeeding basics, positions, strategies, and more. We had a mix of zoom and in person sessions, both of which were extremely helpful. Sarah is calm, patient, non-judgmental, and so knowledgeable about lactation. I underwent a medical issue that meant that I needed to start pumping more than I had anticipated and Sarah helped me come up with a game plan for a day where I needed to be away from my baby for longer than I had been before. She is extremely responsive, and overall such a joy to work with. I can't recommend Sarah enough, she is a gem! read more

Amazing experience!! Honestly I thought I had it this whole breastfeeding thing down when I left the hospital because he latched LOL boy was I wrong !! I started to experience pain I had my husband always help me so my son latched and stayed latched...it ended up being a two person job add we we're starting to go nuts! Immediately Mary came to our rescue and I couldn't be happier and more relieved! She was calm and knowledgeable from the moment we met! She guided me so much and really just laid out all options for me since we were experiencing some weight issues. She helped me learn to use my pump, walked me thru my first session, and show me all the dos and don'ts. I would recommend Mary to any first time mom even if they have it under control. It's just so reassuring having a consultant come to your house the first few days and weeks! Honestly if it want for Mary I don't know if I would still be breastfeeding . She truly changed the game for me ! Thanks Mary !! read more

I was referred to Sarah from my pediatrician because as a typical FTM, I had so many anxieties about everything, especially because I wanted to exclusively BF and I was getting all kinds of different advice from the internet and each nurse/consultant at Cedars. I was so confused until I met with Sarah. I had an ongoing issue with pain and later, fast supply - Sarah calmly walked me through various positions and latching techniques. By the second appt., things were already getting better, but Sarah's encouraging and assuring advice is what kept me feeling at ease whenever I got anxious (again). read more

Highly recommend visiting Sarah at IMMA lactation if you have any concerns or questions regarding milk supply, pumping or breast feeding. Sarah at IMMA lactation is absolutely wonderful! She offers a welcoming environment and conducts a thorough background and assessment prior to making any recommendations. Prior to coming to Sarah, I had difficulty establishing my supply, my son had difficulty latching and I felt overwhelmed and frustrated that I couldn't meet my breastfeeding goals. I'm so happy I found Sarah after a quick Yelp search as I was preparing for my baby girls arrival!! She picked up my phone call right away and was so helpful. She was able to reach out to my insurance and set it all up so all our sessions were fully covered. So convenient! We had a virtual meeting before baby's arrival where Sarah fully prepared me for everything I should expect once baby is here. This meeting truly helped me feel so confident and ready, and once baby was here, breastfeeding went perfectly! All her advice, tips & tricks really came in handy and made a big difference. Once baby was here we set up an in person meet up. That was also very helpful, we got to do a weigh in and see how much baby is drinking. Overall I learned a lot from Sarah and really benefited from my meetings with her. I will definitely recommend her to all my friends who are planning to breastfeed! read more

Sarah and her team are fantastic, I am forever glad I connected with them for a prenatal and had them lined up for when I got home from the hospital. In-hospital support is a good start but in my experience that's just the beginning of the journey. Sarah was super low-pressure when feeding got off to a stressful start, and gave me all the advice I needed to pretty much exclusively pump (flange sizes, pump settings, timing, etc). She also gave me amazing referrals for tongue tie related issues and again allowed me to make my own decisions. I went back to her at various intervals when I felt ready to make changes (4 months, 13 months, texts for support on rough days), and to my own surprise I am fully done with the pump and still breastfeeding at 18+ months. And it was covered by insurance!! read more

Sarah is such a knowledgeable and understanding guide for any mom's lactation journey! She has a peaceful calming vibe and her office is so homey and put me to ease as soon as I stepped in. My husband and I were at our wits end after our third daughter was born. She was so frantic and fussy right off the bat and we needed answers as to why she seemed so unhappy and uncomfortable most of the time. Breastfeeding was a priority for me and I just needed some help figuring out her slow weight gain and if there was anything I was missing and I was adamant in having enough supply to keep up with the demand. Due to Covid, the breastfeeding support groups I used to attend with my middle daughter weren't happening and my hospital closed their breastfeeding center so I was desperate for help. Sarah listened to our concerns, was super thorough in getting to know dynamics and we left with a solid plan. She is so accessible in that you have unlimited access to follow up with her for two weeks after your initial visit. She emailed me an outlined plan down to how many times a day to pump and how many times to try nursing. She also noticed a possible tongue tie that none of the pediatricians caught and gave us some referrals for pediatric dentists and an ENT that ended up being covered under our insurance plan! Fast forward through some hard work and restless nights, my daughter is now 3 months old with chubby cheeks and thigh rolls, almost prefers the side that used to produce less, has healed beautifully from her lip and tongue tie procedures, sleeps 8 hours straight at night and cries a whole lot less. I have no more nipple pain, get a good chunk of sleep at night, feel more confident as a mom since i understand why she cries when she does, and just donated 200oz of breastmilk! read more
