I've had two kids graduate from her toddler program over the last few years and I can't wait to enroll my third child when the time comes. ECDA is a wonderful preschool prep program and support group for parents and care givers alike. While the children learned and played in one room, the parents stayed close by to participate in group discussions each week. It was a great way to check in and have the opportunity to ask questions and talk about what worked and wasn't working for everyone. It really helped me navigate parenthood and all the challenging times that arise during those first few crucial years of parenting and raising children. The class notes that get emailed to everyone ahead of each class have been so fabulous to use as a reference point on numerous occasions. I don't know what I would have done without Marilee and all of her wisdom. My children still talk about her and her classes and especially love to look back at photos and videos of their time spent there. The support, knowledge and friendships formed by attending these classes have been simply priceless!

Every week, there's also a new parenting topic that caregivers discuss in a circle as the children do their activities in a different room, supervised by fun and caring teachers. I can honestly say that reading the handouts every week, learning from my nanny about her takeaways, and occasionally dropping in on the classes has made me a better parent this past year. I am more compassionate and empathetic to my child, I have better social and psychological tools to create consistent boundaries, and I know that I have somewhere to turn whenever the latest crazy stage of toddlerhood hits our household (tantrums, potty training, picky eating, poor sleep, aggression). I never felt judged or lectured. I always felt supported and uplifted. And on a personal note, Marilee was able to identify mild sensory issues (sight, touch and hearing) in my toddler. Marilee taught her (and us!) simple coping skills to avoid becoming overwhelmed by her fears and emotions. Without these insights, there's no doubt that I would be treating these sensory issues as "disobedience" and trying to punish her for them, which is frustrating and hurtful for the kid and ultimately counter-productive for the family. I wish every parent had access to a group like ECDA.

I stayed at Zette for two weeks right after giving birth to my son Hayes this past February, and…read morehonestly it was one of the best decisions I made for my recovery. I had a c-section and was really struggling to rest in the hospital, so coming here felt like such a relief. The food alone was worth it. Every single meal felt like it was made with a recovering mom in mind -- flavorful, nourishing, but not heavy or overly seasoned. Seaweed soup (a staple in Korean postpartum culture) was part of almost every meal, and I truly felt the difference it made in how I was healing. The nursing staff was incredible. There's a 24/7 rotating team, and I got to know each one of them. They cared for Hayes overnight so I could actually sleep and recover with peace of mind, helped me with breastfeeding, and even did breast massages to prevent clogged ducts. As a first-time mom who had no idea what she was doing, having that level of expert, attentive care was everything. When it was time to leave, I got genuinely emotional -- I was so grateful to each of them for taking care of us during such a tender, hard time. My husband was also able to stay some nights (we're local to LA), which made the whole experience feel less scary and more like something we were navigating together. The staff even taught us how to bathe Hayes before we left! A huge thank you to Eunice, the director, who made the whole process seamless from start to finish. If you're considering a postpartum center, I can't recommend Zette enough.

The staff was amazing, all of the nurses are super caring, knowledgeable and always willing to help at any time 24/7. The manager Eunice was a great host, she treated us like family. They make sure your baby is ready for their doctors' visits, they dress the baby and prep a bag with formula, bibs, and diapers. The food was delicious and nutritious. They bring you food to your room if you don't want to eat in the common area. We felt so comfortable running errands or sleeping to recover from the birth because we knew our baby was being cared for. The center is super clean and it gets a cleaning twice a week. Note that the stay and meals are for the mother but the dad can sleep overnight and/or get meals as well for a very reasonable fee. The staff mostly speaks Korean but I was able to easily communicate using a translation app. Overall a great experience at a very reasonable price. We would do it again in a heartbeat if we were having another baby. Thank you Eunice, the nurses and the rest of the staff.

All the teachers and staff are top-notch and so sweet. Our kid loves coming here, and I know that she is safe and well cared for. It's clean, organized, and professional. The teachers give you a rundown every day of meals, naps, photos, activities, etc. and do lessons, arts n' crafts, music time, etc. with the kids. There's a little outdoor area where the kids play. They provide diapers. It's all wonderful. If we could swing it with our schedules, I'd put our kid in here full-time! A few things to consider about the Hollywood location: 1) Parking when doing drop-offs and pick-ups can be a little hectic at peak times. Lots of cars navigating down the street. 2) Sometimes parking enforcement lurks close by -- so do a quick check if you're parking in a no parking zone for a quick drop-off. (Yes, I have gotten a ticket before.) Even if you see every other caregiver/parent parking in a no parking zone, you still might get a ticket if you do the same. If there are a ton of pick-ups happening, I think it's less likely they'll ticket just you, but if there aren't a lot of cars, just be on the look out! 3) I know what you're thinking: "Well, I won't be an idiot like you and park in a no parking zone." You'll see the allure of parking in these no parking zones when there are no other close by spots to drop off or pick up your kid. Basically, watch out for parking enforcement nearby! 4) You have to pack your own lunch and snacks or buy lunch or snacks there. Which is fine! But some other daycares provide their own meals. I think that would be tricky with the Brella program though, as it's a pay-by-the-hour system. 5) The Early Bird program is the only sure way to get consistent hours for your kid every month. Once you're on that list, you're set. There is a waitlist (usually). Otherwise, the spots fill up fast and it's nearly impossible to book a routine schedule. 6) There is no 6. I just want to say again how excellent the staff and teachers are at this facility. The end.

Our Honest Experience with Brella After 6 Months…read more After six months at Brella, and now that we've found a new daycare, I wanted to share our honest experience. Booking Brella uses an app for monthly childcare bookings, which open on the 20th at 10 a.m. For the past three months, the app has frozen during booking time, leaving my husband and me spending hours trying to secure spots for our son. Honestly, it's easier to get tickets to a Beyoncé or Taylor Swift concert than to book childcare at Brella. Dependability While Brella advertises full-time childcare flexibility, that hasn't been our experience. For the last three months, we've been waitlisted at least two days each week--for example, every Monday and Tuesday in November. After repeatedly asking in October, we were finally taken off the waitlist, but the inconsistency has been stressful. They also offer "early booking," which we requested access to, only to be told we were waitlisted for that as well. For working parents, this level of unpredictability makes Brella an unreliable option. We've had to use PTO or ask our in-laws to drive over two hours just to help cover childcare gaps. Quality and Communication Several of our favorite teachers have been let go, which was disappointing. Brella is also supposed to send daily photos and lesson plans, but there are days we receive no updates--or just a single photo of the back of our son's head. Overall For such a premium-priced childcare option, Brella has significant issues to address--from booking reliability to staffing and communication. While there are aspects we appreciated early on, it ultimately wasn't dependable enough for our family's needs.

More importantly, their website said the stroller I wanted was in stock and available in 4 hours for pickup, but when I got there it wasn't available for purchase and it had to be ordered. When I brought it up to the cashier, he said it was because they have it in store their inventory but not at the store? Huh?? After doing more digging I saw there was a "Terms and conditions" asterisk in fine print you have to click on to find out this information. All I saw was the green check mark that says "In stock and ready for pick up in 4 hours." Any other place I have ever been to- this would mean it would be in stock at the store. When I brought up, calmly, that this was confusing and they should fix it because I drove two hours to get to the store. The cashier said nothing. Not a "Aw geez, I'm sorry. I can understand your frustration and why that's confusing." I'm a reasonable person. I've worked in customer service all my life. The demeanor of the cashier alone has put me off from ever visiting this store again or recommending it. We went to Uppababy a few blocks down and they were SOOO kind that it completely made my day. All I needed was some kindness. To the owners of the Pump Station- the people using your website are most likely VERY tired moms. I personally am getting 3-4 hours of sleep a day. Tired moms need clear signage if something is in stock or not. Time is precious in this season of life. We also need KINDNESS. My body is broken and recovering from giving birth. I am exhausted! I would expect a place who sells baby items to understand this. Overall, would never recommend this place and will tell everyone I know that it was an awful experience.
