This out-of-the-way eclectic gem has been the highlight of our trip! We spent two days here and had so much fun exploring the little town and surrounding area! Additionally, we enjoyed the company of the owners! Our rooms, the linens, the beds, they were all exceptional! The common area was stocked with everything including an an abundance of history!! The little 4 room retro motel hit the spot for sure! I'm going to brag just a bit more about them... they're green! They recycle and that's not an easy task in a small town such as Salome! It's not that far out of the way, take a little detour! It's worth staying over for a few days!

What a beautiful place to rest your head! Every detail has love in it. The rooms are comfortable and large with features such as a *gas fire stove *small sofa *TV *full length mirror *desk *storage *extension chord with many outlets for devices, *air con *en-suite bathroom *internet On top of that there is *24 hour kitchen with free tea and coffee * a courtyard to hang out in with many places to dine, sit and lounge An outdoor kitchen *off street parking I've met one of the owners, Randy, who was incredibly helpful and accommodating. To top it all off the whole place has so artistic features I don't even know how to describe it. I'll put some pictures up!! I would definitely come back!!

Westward Motel is a special place. You can tell the owner Randy has put a lot of personality into the hotel as every corner has something interesting to check out. We are doing a cross country trip and stopped on our way to California. The room is very clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Nice size bed and couch in the room. A/C is a wall unit. Bathroom is stocked with shampoo/conditioner, body wash and towels. Randy the owner is very hospital. Came to greet us when we pulled in. Seems like a cool guy with a lot of stories. The property has a kitchen for guest to use with a stove, fridge, table, couch and everything else you would expect in a kitchen. There's tea and coffee available and fresh water. We slept pretty comfortable. I hope to come back sometime in the future.

What a hidden little gem in the middle of nowhere. They've only got 4 motel rooms, but they make up for it with plenty of outdoor lounging. Check out the pics!

OMGOSH. ... LOVING THIS PLACE! A few miles off 10... nestled in the tiny town of Salome is the BEST little motel! Clean, cool, friendly and the funkiest and fun yard decor. It was the perfect place to rest from the long day of driving. Call ahead first, his rooms go quickly. I wish there were more places like this...it has character ;)

It was clean and the perfect temperature at about 98 degrees. The woman that helped us was helpful and very informative. She also volunteers for time to keep the hot springs, nice and clean. The bathrooms are very clean and look newly remodeled with cute lights. I can't wait to go back and try out the other pools. I would say don't listen to people that haven't been there in a while because they've definitely done a lot to improve their facilities.

Starts at $40/person, which is HIGH. High for the tepid 98F water temp. High for the incessant flies. The communal hot tub area is clean, and we felt safe. There are showers, and their restrooms are good, too. But the water wasn't even hot tub warm. And the flies could drive you crazy. I'd like to rate it higher, it's a cool, calm, and happy place with various types of tubs in the communal area, which is nude only. But for $40, I could sit in a river without the flies, downstream from view, nude, and be happier. There's lots of parking, fuel nearby, something to eat, but despite its proximity to Phoenix, they could buy some fly strips and heat the water.

My room had a beautiful view of the Colorado River, complete with a full patio and seating--such a nice bonus. The room itself was big, spacious, and very comfortable. Coffee and tea were provided, and housekeeping cleaned the room daily, which was fantastic. Service throughout the hotel was excellent. A couple of things to note: there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms--only available in the lobby--and the pool was closed for remodeling during my stay. There is a small but cozy exercise room, and parking was plentiful. Dining options were great. BlueWater Grill is perfect for casual snacks and breakfast (opens at 7am), while River Willow has a more upscale feel and is excellent for dinner with friends or family. Overall, a great stay with excellent service, plenty of parking, and even free RV parking that can accommodate large rigs. Cheers!

Our Japanese relatives both the first generation or Issei (grandparents) & second generation Nisei (my mom & her siblings) were incarcerated in Posten AZ along w/almost 18,000 other Japanese for no other reason than being Japanese. Under Executive order 9066 approximately 120,000 Japanese Americans were incarcerated in 10 major camps. Since all the Nisei & Issei generation have passed away my cousin organized a Pilgrimage to Posten where they were incarcerated. We had an excellent excellent turn out for the sansei or 3rd generation Japanese/Anericans w/myself my wife & all 4 of my siblings, cousin that organized the trip/reunion had 4 of 5 turnout, my other cousin had 4 of 4, & the last family group had 3 of 3). In addition many of the Yonsei (fourth generation) turned out for this event. In all there were 39 of us that turned out to learn about what our ancestors went through during World War II. I've always been aware of the camps but to see & to learn so much more that by attending this event was awesome. This coupled with/a family reunion was something that was really special event because we haven't seen each other in 20 years ever since the nisei generation passed away. Bluewater Casino has a large meeting/conference room where they had exhibits set up of items. The internment camp in Posten AZ is in the dessert on Indian land. This area around Parker AZ is also home to four Indian tribes. They are the Mohave, Chemehuevi, Hopi, and Navajo. These tribes are federally recognized as the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) and share the Colorado River Indian Reservation, which is primarily located in Parker, Arizona. The four Indian tribes in Parker, Arizona, are the Mohave, Chemehuevi, Hopi, and Navajo. Both the Japanese & Indians had put into situations that were not of their choosing but being resourceful they were able to exist w/mutually beneficial interaction and interdependence that strengthens society as a whole.
