This charming little set of four casitas is by far the best bet for lodging in the Quartzsite-Salome region. It's not luxurious, but better than that, it is comfortable, homey, and the price is reasonable. The owner, Kristie, and her husband live on the property. She greets you when you arrive and is available for anything you need. There is a fully equipped communal kitchen for the use of the lodgers. The little garden courtyard is beautiful and peaceful and hosts the largest saguaro cactus I've ever seen. The artwork throughout the rooms and gardens is charming and interesting and even includes lovely artistic interpretations of local petroglyphs. And about 10 miles to the west, arising improbably out of the barren desert like a mirage, is a family owned Indian restaurant with great food! I really enjoyed my two stays at this delightful place and I hope it continue to thrive as a quiet lovely oasis in the midst of the desert. read more

I'm not sure what's going on. I drove all the way to the motel, peered through the windows, knocked on doors, nothing. Maybe they went out of business? Don't know. read more

If you are passing thru on Hwy 60 and need a stop for the evening - this is your place.! Clean, very comfortable queen bed, cute and well outfitted kitchen (share with guests in the 4 rooms), great water pressure and shower, beautiful outdoor space to sit and enjoy with your other or group! Kristie is welcoming and right on property if you have any questions about the motel or the local area. This gem in the tiny town of Salome, AZ has so much character and charm! Our cozy room had a comfortable queen sized bed, a twin bed, small desk and an electric stove for heating. The owners/caretakers were very pleasant and communicative. I highly recommend this quaint oasis in the middle of the Arizona desert. read more

This out-of-the-way eclectic gem has been the highlight of our trip! We spent two days here and had so much fun exploring the little town and surrounding area! Additionally, we enjoyed the company of the owners! Our rooms, the linens, the beds, they were all exceptional! The common area was stocked with everything including an an abundance of history!! The little 4 room retro motel hit the spot for sure! I'm going to brag just a bit more about them... they're green! They recycle and that's not an easy task in a small town such as Salome! It's not that far out of the way, take a little detour! It's worth staying over for a few days! read more

The rooms are comfortable and large with features such as a *gas fire stove *small sofa *TV *full length mirror *desk *storage *extension chord with many outlets for devices, *air con *en-suite bathroom *internet On top of that there is *24 hour kitchen with free tea and coffee * a courtyard to hang out in with many places to dine, sit and lounge An outdoor kitchen *off street parking I've met one of the owners, Randy, who was incredibly helpful and accommodating. This place was just the most perfect little spot. I travel to Wickenburg often for work and will now only (if availability allows) stay here. The kitchen is so perfect for someone like me who travels with my very specific food I eat and like to prepare myself as that is the healthiest option for me when traveling. Westward Motel is a special place. You can tell the owner Randy has put a lot of personality into the hotel as every corner has something interesting to check out. We are doing a cross country trip and stopped on our way to California. The room is very clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Nice size bed and couch in the room. A/C is a wall unit. Bathroom is stocked with shampoo/conditioner, body wash and towels. Randy the owner is very hospital. Came to greet us when we pulled in. Seems like a cool guy with a lot of stories. The property has a kitchen for guest to use with a stove, fridge, table, couch and everything else you would expect in a kitchen. There's tea and coffee available and fresh water. We slept pretty comfortable. I hope to come back sometime in the future. read more

It's all true! The Westward Motel deserves all the superlatives found in the other reviews. We stayed there during a cold spell in December and enjoyed the cozy heat provided by a gas-powered Franklin stove. Randy was very friendly and appreciative. We spent a couple of comfortable nights here while on a fun rockhounding trip in nearby Quartzite. This little eclectic motel was well worth the detour from Interstate 10. Randy, the owner, has created a little oasis with his motel. Our room was spacious and sparkling clean with a very comfy bed, and the bathroom was stocked with essentials. There is even a full kitchen where you can make breakfast or just grab a cup of coffee. The price is excellent and you won't find a better deal. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely stop by for the night. read more

We spent Easter here last year and it was wonderful! In addition to beautiful rooms and a very nice staff, there is a common lounge, kitchen, dining area for guests, and a BBQ set on a lovely patio. We spent two nights here with our kids while on a rockhounding adventure, and couldn't have been happier. The owners even let us pick arugula from their garden to supplement our salad. The decor and hospitality can't be beat; neither can the price. I definitely want to go back! read more

If you are within 100 miles of Salome you have to check this place out. It is a post war auto court style motel that is a labour of love, a piece of art. Rebuilt from recycled and repurposed materials the overall effect is fantastic. If you intend to stay book ahead as there are only 4 rooms. We had what my wife called the blue room, as various shades of blue predominate. I don't know where the owner developed his eye for decorating but it is spot on. Not only is beautiful in a funky SW junkyard/second hand store kind of way, but our room was spotless and had a gas heater that looked like an old wood stove and worked like a charm.(it was chilly outside in January) The bed was incredibly comfy, and came with soft warm flannel sheets. The towels were thick and soft and the shower even has a shaving mirror. I have paid 3 times as much for an inferior room in a big name chain. If you are planning on an extended stay there is a communal kitchen and BBQ for all guests to share. Top all this off with a very welcoming and hospitable host. Truly must be seen to be believed. Even if you are not staying, stop by and have a look. read more
