This is the go to place for pins!! My daughter enjoys collecting Disneyland and Disney World pins. We haven't gone to Disneyland in awhile and so one of the first stores that we stopped inside was Westward Ho Trading Company. Westward Ho Trading Company is located in Frontierland at Disneyland park. It's typically open from 8:00 A.M to 12:00 A.M during the summer hours. It's right next to the Frontierland Shootin' Exposition. As soon as you walk inside the store, you'll see all sorts of pins on the left side. There are a bunch of all new pin collection and even limited edition releases. You can also purchase lanyards, accessories, and even some apparel here at the store! My daughter ended up buying some 70th anniversary pins here as well as some pirate themed pins! The team member at the register was helpful and friendly. The store does accepted Magic Key Holder Discounts, Disney Vacation Club Discounts, and Disney Visa Cardmember Perks! read more

GETTING HERE: Westward Ho is located in Frontierland at Disneyland. If you're entering Frontierland from the Walt and Mickey statue, Westward Ho will be on your right-hand side before Rancho Del Zocalo. If you hit Big Thunder, you've gone too far. REVIEW: This is one of my favorite pin shops within the entire property, DTD included. They have such a wide variety of pins; such a great variety of all things pin-related. I frequent this shop more than others on the property because this one always feels quieter and less busy to me. Now, I don't have a way to verify that, obvi, but it's a bit of a hidden gem, IMO. The price point of pins and lanyards is pretty standard across property, but I feel this store gives you a better bang for your buck, no pun intended. :) The cast members are always friendly and willing and able to help me find my specific requests (The Emperor's New Groove, etc.), which are usually hit and miss anywhere. But, one day! I hope that Disney will stop sleeping on TENG, and I will be checking here ASAP until then. I definitely recommend Wesward Ho! read more

The most expansive Disney pin trading store in Disneyland. There's a lot of different categories of pins: princesses, villains, animal characters, etc. When I used to collect Disney pins, I would usually buy from here. Prices have gone up of course and the pin design quality has decreased from previous decades. read more

Background: For the past couple of years that I've been going to Disney, the main shop that I mainly go to is Westward Ho. I consider myself a pin collector and I feel as if I've gone to pin collecting heaven whenever I step foot into the shop. I haven't tried trading, but don't think I could ever part with any of my collection unless it is something really rare. Location: Located next to Shootin' Exposition shooting range. Ambiance/Decor: Small shop that gives a rustic western feel. Shiny pins galore. Pins Of Choice: The pins I mostly purchase are usually limited release and ones that hold a sentimental feeling to me. In my opinion, this is one of the best, if not the best place in the Disneyland Resort to get you pin fix. They have an amazing assortment of pins, lanyards and, starter pin lanyard sets. They carry almost all the limited edition pins. They have the special pins that are for annual passholders, vacation club members. They carry all the best, new releases in pins here. If you are looking for any specific new pins and you don't see them, just ask a cast member. If they don't have it there, they will do their best to point you in the right direction to find it elsewhere in the parks. They have a really good assortment of lanyards to choose from too. So, swing by and check the place out. It is a small building so it can get quite busy and crowded! read more

This is literally one of my favorite places to be in Disneyland next to POTC and Buzz Lightyear! I'm a pin trader and have been since the mid 2000's when I discovered the sport from a cereal box, so I love dropping in here to see the different pin sets available. I love buying a themed pin that relates to my specific visit (4th of July, Yule, Halloween) and picking up a themed lanyard if I'm feeling snazzy. Pro-tip: The pin cart at the end of main street also has several of the same limited edition pins, so I usually stop in their first before I make my way to Westward Ho. All in all, I love this shop, but do definitely wish they'd add some cloud and sun coverage for the area that holds the line when they have pin releases. read more

I had never been in this store in Frontierland. But when i stepped in, I was awestruck by the amount of pins. Never expected this in Frontierland! Every type of packages pin, limited editions. I definitely agree with the other Yelpers. My daughter and I stumbled upon this place last week in hopes to find another pin to add to our collection and were very pleased to find out that they have a wall of Disney pins specifically for the popular rides at both Disneyland and California Adventure Park. The pins cost more than the average other Disneyland collector pins, but there's more detail to them. A lot of them have working parts such as working elevator doors on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at Disney's California Adventure Park or a moveable car on my favorite indoor roller coaster Space Mountain at Disneyland. There were so many cute pins, we could not decide. I wanted to get them all! I will definitely be back this week and will be getting one for each of our Disney lanyards at this store. In my opinion the best store to buy pins AND trade pins! This store is literally nothing but pins, lanyards and trading and I always make it a point to stop by this shop to check out the pins for trade. I agree with some of the other Yelpers to be careful with the hardcore tradings who setup shop right outside of this store... I say this because we've come across some not so kid friendly traders who are a bit rough when telling little kids NO, that they don't want any of their pins for trade. Just because they're kids does not mean that you have to trade with them BUT I do think they can be a little more friendly when telling the little ones no. I like stopping at this store at Disneyland since they always seem to have a wide variety of pins. Plus since this store mainly sells pins the staff is really knowledgable about the pins and different collections. Sometimes you can also get really lucky to be able to trade ins with others inside or outside the store. One time I stoped by this store and a staff member had a table set up outside specifically for trading. This is one of my must stop by stores when I am at Disney. Plus it is near a restroom! This is one of my favorite pin stores in Disneyland. Located in Frontierland next to the shooting range, this pin place has most of the new arrival pins and the limited edition pins. They are all organized on one wall in various categories: princesses, theme park rides, star wars, etc. They also have a pressed penny machine, as well as a wide selection of lanyards to choose from. Love this place but DO NOT love the customer service. Isolde from Irvine, CA was not nice in the slightest. My friends and I ended up spending a PRETTY PENNY in there and got very disappointed service. She was very short and didn't see a smile once. I really enjoy going here for my pins they always seam to have what I am looking for. Plus I enjoy trading pins here for some reason they have unusual ones that I like and not seen before. The store is small but it is not overly busy so there's always room to move around. There stock is better then the other pin store's and don't run out as fast either. Not only is the staff super helpful like always, but you can find a lot of fellow pintraders here so its easy to add to your collection. I seriously love this place. Definitely a go-to place to get your Disney pins. I wasn't a collector until my husband and I started bringing our daughter to the Magical Kingdom. This is the biggest store for pin collecting, but if you're looking for different lanyard themes, check out other stores near the attractions and characters that you like (stores by the Haunted Mansion and Pirates have more of a Mansion and Pirates theme with their pins and lanyards). Five STARS for the Pin Store. ZERO(0) stars for the "guest" pin traders, who are mostly an arrogant bunch. Some news about this group of "guest" pin traders was recently related. Disney is trying discourage their existence in the park, which is music to my ears. Apparently, I am not the only one to send a written complaint about this practice, which is an embarrassment to the overall Magiical components of this Park. This store is kind of a hidden gem for pin collectors! I didn't find the limited edition pins here, but I still walked away breaking my credit card! The only downfall I would give this store is the collector boxes are kept in a glass case at the cash register. I felt like I was holding up the line looking through the whole glass case before I paid. It would be nice to have everything out so people can look through everything. read more

The pin traders outside of this little shop are some tough cookies. Be careful when approaching them as they can smell your starter pins and immediately shut you down unless you have a Limited Edition 12, 1943 Steam Boat Willie Pin. read more

Great store, great cast members, especially Ben who knows all about Disney pins, but please BEWARE of the people who trade just outside ESPECIALLY the old man in the scooter chair. He is rude, demeans every pin you have (which most who are outside the shop do unless you have a rare pin to trade), or wants you to buy a pin inside to trade (which violates the rules, several outside have asked this of me). Most of the people outside want you to give them "gold" for a cast lanyard pin they have multiple duplicates of but won't trade because they are "collecting these 3 sets for friends (Chris)" or don't want to break up the set (liars, they are there several days a week & can easily get another) or try to tell you your pins are fake (isn't that Disney's perogative, especially when you've gotten that pin from a Cast member?!?!?) etc. I have had better trading and more fun with the people in line to look at the pin books at the barrels than any of the collectors who have ever set up their stuff. The one exception was a lady in a wheelchair who would trade ANY pin in her book for one of yours as long as it was a hidden Mickey. If it is a cast lanyard/hidden Mickey pin, this is how it should be. Not a strong arm tactic by a local to try to get the best pin they can from the tourist who doesn't really know better and is just trying to have fun at Disneyland. Good luck & good trading! read more
