This place is VERY busy during the peak lunch time due to them having burgers and chicken tenders. There are some unique and different options as well. This location has a ton of seating both inside and outside. Let's face it, Florida is hot, so my wife and I never sit outside. We are always making a point to go inside. We also always use the mobile ordering on the app, we find a table, sit down and wait for the food to be ready. Using the app is so much easier, but if you want a lot of customizations, you need to go to the register to order. One of the other perks about Backlot, they are one of the few locations that have fill your own drink station, aka you can get refills. Most days there are people also filling their own bottles with water at the station. I don't love this for sanitary reasons, but the ice goes faster as it cannot keep up with the demand of purchased drinks and personal bottles. Food options are typical theme park: hamburgers, and chicken tenders. However, they do have different items such as a General Tso's bowl, Cuban sandwich and more. I personally love the General Tso's bowl, it's filling and very tasty. This location almost always offers specialty items, such as holiday treats and Star Wars themed items. It is usually a dessert and a cocktail. They are also a location for one of Disney's sauced chicken tenders which came out awhile ago. Disney created a ton of different sauced tenders around their property. Backlot has the honey buffalo which are really delicious. My wife and I have had them a few times. I do hope these stay. Sometimes a chicken tender just hits right! Overall, I would say this is a great place for families, lunch and quick bites. There are a lot of options, lots of seating and the best park, drink refills. I would say check it out.

They also are one of the few locations that have fill your drink station which means you can get refills. And when its hot you will see tons of people filling their own bottles with water at the station. But any place, quick service, that offers free refills, always has a higher rating for me. Drinks at Disney are SO expensive! Their food is very much theme park, hamburgers, chicken tenders, but they also offer a few unique items such as a General Tso's bowl, Cuban sandwich and more. They usually offer specialty items as well. Most recently we went for the Star Wars themed items which included a cocktail and a cupcake. Both were very good. They also offer one of Disney's sauced chicken tenders. Disney came out with sauced chicken tenders awhile ago, with different flavors across property. Backlot has the honey buffalo which are awesome! I really hope these stay around. This is not necessarily a place we visit every time but it is a good stop. There are tons of options for everyone and the free refills is a plus. There are quite a few unique options in studios but Backlot probably has the largest seating area. One of their items that I wish would come back was a salad. It had grilled chicken, avocado, and more with a garlic lime vinaigrette, it was so good! That I will definitely miss! But overall, I would say this is a great place for families. Lots of options, lots of seating and drink refills. It is also sort of near the front in between Indiana Jones and Star Tours. There's something wonderful about enjoying that scene while holding a hot dog like you've made all the right decisions in life. And to be clear, I'm reviewing a hot dog place. My expectations are appropriate to the assignment. On this visit, it was hot and humid, so I decided I didn't need chili and cheese on my hot dog. I put them on my fries instead. A major lifestyle change, obviously. It was a welcome trade-off. I've tried the different versions of the chili dog, and the basic is still my favorite. Sometimes you get it right without needing to add a whole supporting cast. The corn dog nuggets are pretty good, too. If you visit when it's busy, expect to wait for a table. A seat with that view requires a little patience and possibly one member of your party saying, "Are those people leaving?" every thirty seconds. Casey's has become a must-do on every trip. A hot dog, piano music, and a castle view, sometimes my vacation needs are very specific, and very easy to meet.

I typically tend to mobile order through the MyDisney Experience app, so I went down the list and decided to open up the options for Flame Tree Barbecue. I went with the Half Chicken which was generous half bbq chicken portion with beans and coleslaw. It was exactly what I needed/wanted to get a more quality meal inside of me without breaking the bank at a table service restaurant. Pricing was very fair for it being Disney and for the quality. When I went to pick up my mobile order, the Cast Members were extremely friendly and a pleasure to interact with. The whole experience was 5-stars coming from a smaller quick service kiosk/stand in Animal Kingdom. I could have easily shared the platter with another person, but it was so good that I didn't need to. If you are in Animal Kingdom and looking for a tasty, affordable option that isn't your typical theme park food, Flame Tree Barbecue is a fantastic choice. There is a modest area of outdoor seating, but also a short walking distance away to other quick service places with indoor seating if you're trying to beat the Florida sun. Note that you must have park entry to Animal Kingdom to order from Flame Tree Barbecue.

Then you realize that the building itself is a propped open lunch box with a thermos as one of the props. Clever beyond belief and a true touch of Disney magic!! The food is just as well done, particularly the rotating seasonal pop tart. This trip we enjoyed: - Breakfast Bowl (with gravy removed) - perfectly crisp and seasoned tater tots with fluffy scrambled eggs! It came with green cheese but I declined it. Sadly, this doesn't change the price. This pricing is more expensive than a Mickey pretzel (which also comes with cheese), but the Shrekzel is a tad bigger. I found the pretzel to be a little too chewy. I like giant pretzels to be soft. Service was not the greatest either. The two employees at the stand were on their phone before taking my friend and I's order and immediately afterwards too. Overall, I love the concept of the Shrekzel and the theming of the quick-service Swamp Snacks but this was a one and done experience for me.

NOTES 1. Our visit to WDW and EPCOT was in November 2025. During this trip to WDW, my partner and I made it a point to try different places and foods that we didn't experience on a previous trip. 2. There is outdoor and indoor seating available. We chose indoors because it was a bit hot on the days we visited (thought the mornings were very cool). Our 1st visit was unplanned. We were walking by and decided to do a mobile order since we wanted a snack. We chose the Beef Brisket Sandwich with fries. So good! Definitely shareable if you're not too hungry. I thought the indoor seating was very, very spacious, and we didn't have any difficulty finding a place to sit . The sandwich also came with a generous portion of fries. We returned 2 days later since we liked the food so much. We shared the BBQ platter which came with pork ribs, smoked pork butt, and smoked sausage; also served with corn bread and a choice of a side (french fries, of course!). The platter was more than enough food for us both, and we enjoyed the ribs the most. Honourable mention goes to the sausage and fries, as well as the bbq sauce. There are 4 dispensers in the rear of the restaurant. We just opted for the classic bbq sauce. BOTTOM LINE Great meal options at the Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the American Pavilion at EPCOT.

I ordered the Texas beef brisket sandwich, which was tasty and had plenty of flavor. The only thing I would do differently next time is ask for the sauce on the side. It was a little heavier than I prefer, and I think having more control over the amount would make the sandwich even better. Overall, the food is solid, the portions are generous, and it's a great option when you need a break from the crowds. Definitely worth a visit if you're spending the day in Epcot.

Walk up to the counter and place your order from a small handful of options (my go to is the fontina and tomato basil grilled cheese) and wait a few minutes...then boom you're transported to cheesy goodness haven! Prices stay around $10 and while you may be like "that's pricey for a grilled cheese sandwich" remember two things: 1) it's Disney and 2) each order comes with your choice of soup or salad. Always opt for the tomato bisque soup, it's perfect for dunking that golden goodness into for an added kick.
