The establishment was very ambient, cozy, and well furnished. I liked the warm, glowing atmosphere of the restaurant. The server was extremely polite and took our order quite soon. We were starving after a long day but the food came out in around 20ish minutes which wasn't too bad. The serving sizes were quite huge. We didn't expect this much food for two portions. For $34 per plate, the dishes were large and came with a large helping of sides. The fried chicken was extremely crispy and juicy. They originally wanted to serve the food quickly/more fresh so they served a chicken thigh to me after on a second plate. They also forgot my substitution of Mac n cheese for mash potatoes so I got a free helping of mash which was sweet. The pickled cucumber was light and fresh which tasted great with the heavier chicken. The potatoes were a little heavy and I wish came with gravy, but still delicious. I really loved the Mac n cheese and finished that up. The chicken steak was also delicious with the grits but a little too salty. Wish they added the grits to the side for me to dip as it became a little too much at times. It was better to eat it with a side of potatoes to balance the flavor. The broccolini was sautéed perfectly and delicious, could eat a whole plate of those alone. The biscuits weren't bad but tasted better eaten with the potatoes. They may have been waiting on more staff since half the restaurant was empty. Our food was fine but on par with Denny's or Perkins. My potatoes were slightly undercooked and warm at best. Worst part: we came here to use a gift card since we're moving out of the country in three days. Sorry, our machine isn't taking gift cards at this time so just use it next time. We told the manager it only had $10 and she said there was nothing she could do. I found a local couple on our way out and gave it to them.
