The gym is also exceptionally clean; it's clear the owners take pride in the space, because you'll barely find a speck of dirt or even a smudge on the mirrors. The owners, Norm and Joanna, are some of the nicest people you'll meet. They're also very knowledgeable trainers who offer personalized training sessions tailored to your individual goals. What Titan Gym may lack in size, it more than makes up for with its sense of community. The members are incredibly welcoming and diverse--ranging from college students and young professionals to parents and older adults staying active in their later years. It's a place that supports both casual gym-goers and serious lifters alike (including a member who recently placed first in a state powerlifting competition). You also won't find the stereotypical "gym bro" atmosphere here--people are respectful of each other's space, time, and noise levels. The people here also organize activities outside the gym as well, ranging from Spartan races and marathons to casual hikes, beer festivals, concerts, and even weekend gaming. At the time of writing this review, Titan Gym is located in Alamo Ranch, though they plan to move to a much larger facility later this year (close to the Santikos Theatre). Immediately upon arrival a member helped us locate the owner, Roger, who got us set up with some day passes. That alone blew me away because out here, anyone would have just let us look around lost. I'm getting really bad with names but if she's reading this I want her to know she's so appreciated. Roger was also awesome. He checked in on us once we were settled, chatted with us about what we were doing in San Antonio, and gave us recommendations for surrounding neighborhoods (we were there to check out homes for potentially moving). I always appreciate gym owners who take the time to get to know the people working out with them. It gives you that level of connection you miss out on with commercial gyms. The gym itself is not your fancy commercial gym. I was a member here, and my friend came in to use her 5-day guest pass. We tried to do everything…read morethe right way. The front desk employee called two women from the office who were eating and gossiping before helping us. When one of them finally assisted us, she said my friend couldn't work out because she "wasn't in the system." We showed her the screenshot of the guest pass, which clearly did not list any time restrictions. Instead of explaining or helping, she offered a one-day pass for $40. I asked if my friend could use my guest pass, and she said no because it "wasn't done," and that my friend couldn't work out at all. We left and later came back to try again. I admit I should've asked for a manager earlier. Accused me to "sneak in" when I literally tried talking and did everything right since the beginning. When we returned, the manager treated me like I was doing something wrong and immediately said my friend could not work out. I asked her to show me where in the policy it states you must arrive before a certain time. Her response was, "Google it." I then asked for the corporate number or someone above her, and she said, "I'm the manager, Kim." I did tell her gas isn't cheap, and nowhere on the pass did it state any time restrictions. The entire interaction felt dismissive, unprofessional, and honestly like we were being racially profiled. Save your time and money. Terrible customer service and very rude staff.
