I'm loving all of these bright plants mounted on this wall, what a cool idea

Decided to check this place out after a lunch with friends and we were not disappointed. The nursery is bright and airy with a large assortment of indoor and outdoor plants, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable on native plants and which ones work best for your garden.

They have a wonderful assortment of plants and flowers, as well as very knowledgeable staff. We were looking for plants to start a hummingbird garden.

My daughter at Weston Gardens in Bloom. WGIB does NOT sell Monarch-killing Asclepias curassavica, only good milkweed.

"Dear Mike's Garden Center, Please stop selling Asclepias curassavica (tropical milkweed, bloodflower, scarlet milkweed, sunset flower, silkweed). They hurt us. Please carry Asclepias incarnata, A. tuberosa, A. syriaca, A. speciosa, and A. asperula instead. It's actually illegal to ship curassavica to Texas. Sincerely, the Monarchs." The Mike's Garden Center manager was brusque and pounded on themes that were not relevant to my request that they consider not selling the milkweed that hurts Monarchs and is deemed by the Texas government to be a noxious weed which cannot be shipped here. We had brought in two Asclepias we'd purchased only to discover they were A. curassavica. Earlier I had at first mistakenly called Weston Gardens in Bloom (8101 Anglin Dr, Fort Worth) where I had purchased an A. tuberosa (and wanted to buy their A. incarnata) to ask if they accepted returns. They graciously said yes if we brought the receipt. I figured Mike's Garden Center might be just as gracious and if not I'd just have to destroy the Monarch-killing plants. I went. I saw the "NO RETURNS NO EXCHANGE" sign and said "OK. But I'm really here to talk to the manager." The cashier said they might make an exception under the circumstances and she said she'd get the manager. He showed up loaded for bear. Calmly, I showed him the facts from the federal government's website, and the statistics from the Smithsonian, and "Molecular Ecology." I asked if he'd consider not selling it anymore as politely as if my beloved genteel gramma were watching me. "Irregardless of what's on your little paper people buy it." "It's not my little paper -- it's a government website." "Irregardless, people buy it." "Because tropical milkweed doesn't die back and they are trying to help the Monarchs and they don't know about the harm curassavica does. You didn't even identify it as Tropical Milkweed -- only as Asclepias. This kills Monarchs, and you could sell the good ones instead." But he was loaded for bear and he shot his load. Kept barking at me that I wasn't getting a refund. "That's not why I'm here. I wanted to ask you to consider not selling plants that hurt Monarchs." Kept barking at me that I wasn't getting an exchange. Still calm, still smiling though it didn't reach my eyes: "That's not why I'm here. I wanted to ask you to consider not selling plants that hurt Monarchs." Lather, rinse, repeat repeatedly. I said to Husband "Let's go. No, don't pick them up carefully, we have to destroy them." I grasped one of the two $15 plants and snapped its stems in half, walked out to the parking lot and holding it by the mangled stems bashed it to bits. The root ball got even by bouncing back and slapping my face. I was covered in dirt. I smiled instantly and gleefully, and took a photo of my dirty self in front. Weston Gardens in Bloom (8101 Anglin Dr, Fort Worth) sells the good milkweeds (Asclepias incarnata and A. tuberosa), not the killer milkweed and graciously will give you an exchange if you bring the receipt. On Mother's Day they have tea, live chamber music, and gifts for Mom in their lovely wedding-ready show gardens.

On the others side they had all of the trees and bushes, some we've not see elsewhere. They had a Chocolate Mimosa tree that we've been wanting for our lot, tho no price, and we forgot to ask. They had a weeping peach tree, super cool, haven't seen one of those, it had fruit on it as well, tho online sites say the fruit is purely decorative only and not edible. Prices were actually really good, especially on the perineal flowers and the bushes. $8.00 for some of the 1 gallon plants, and all are well grown and healthy. Can beat that price elsewhere. We talked to some of the staff for some time in the office about plants and landscaping, listen to them and them listening to us in regard to our extensive landscaping at our residence. We wanted to see about a Cascade Falls Cypress, which is a weeping cypress tree, they didn't have any in stock, that's no fault of there's, as it's a rare tree that's hard to find, partly because they take years of growth before they can even sale a 3 foot tree. They have a supplier that has them but can't get any until next year. We will return to check on that tree as well as get some other good deals. They have a lot of hardscape items, flagstone, landscape stone, rocks, etc. this is a really nice place.

The photo wasn't of anything bad or wrong, it was not misleading or a misrepresentation, it was a legitimate photo of the outside area of the location that she says is shared with a landscaping company, tho what landscape company I do not know. The reasoning stated to me was that the landscaping company didn't want the photo of their area published. The photo was of the locations surroundings just as any Google maps search would provide, so it's not anything that can't be seen anyway. It showed their "shared space" which being "shared" still makes it part of this businesses space which serves as sort of a parking area. The rating on this review is based on the point of contact by the owner to manipulate the initial review by requesting removal of a photo that is a true representation of what is surrounding the business, part of their "shared space", this removes what is also a visual to allow others to find this out of the way place that is not on any main road. I don't feel it is appropriate for a business to private message a Yelp member for the sole purpose of manipulating what is on the review.
