Can I give six stars? I had the best experience! First of all, I called late on a Thursday, and the car was on the truck within an hour. The service was professional and personable! That's so important when people are in a bad situation. Luckily the car was in my driveway, but I needed it towed to a Firestone nearby. The advice that Charlie gave me was to try my insurance company to see if the roadside service included his tow. It did! Westmont Towing is wonderful! Charlie, the owner/operator is charismatic, caring and responsive. I was in a jam and explained what was going on with my vehicle. He attempted possible diagnostics over the phone to determine if a tow would be necessary. Indeed it was necessary and Charlie drove a bit of a distance to hook me up and tow my vehicle to the shop. He was extremely quick in responding to my call which was refreshing to experience Charlie's customer service skills. On the way to the shop Charlie dropped me off at a car rental office and proceeded to 'complete the drop'. In lieu of the experience being a pain in my ass, Charlie made it less so. Great service. Well, well, well, what have we here? A man that makes house calls, and then some! Armed with a trusty Ford Focus, Charlie covers the Du Page and Kane County areas with the most necessary of road side help. I must confess, this Yelp should have been done last November in that mini Ice Age that can only be found in Chicago; but he came to my rescue when my business car sprung 1 and 1/2 flat tires. It took him about 45 minutes to get to me; but in bone chilling cold that was awesome. His on the spot services include not only tires, but reserve tank fill ups, jump starts, and lock outs. This was my first towing experience and it was great! My check engine light started flashing at me and my car was shaking real bad while I was on the highway. I was lucky enough to be right near an overapss Oasis and stopped. Thankfully, I have roadside assistance covered through my insurance and called. They said it would be about 45 minutes. Within 10 mins after making that call, Charlie called me and said he'd be on his way. I was grateful that he even called to confirm. He was so nice on the phone and right before he hung up, he says, "Toodles!". He had me smiling the entire time from when he got there and when I was dropped off at the auto body shop. Being my first tow experience, it was extremely pleasant. He has a flatbed tow truck and he was very careful with my car. His truck was very clean and enjoyable to ride in, for a tow truck. I found myself stranded 40 minutes from home, out of gas...battery dying in the dead of winter. I called two road side assistance places the first place (I shall not name names) gave me a ridiculous price and than added $30 to the price if he had to bring me two gallons of gas instead of one (what) because I drive an SUV. I called "Charlie" next he was pleasant, the price was reasonable and most importantly he showed up quickly and seemed to care about me being alone in the cold...with a quickly dying battery as wall as no gas. I got my Sunday morning off to a horrible start by locking myself out of my car when I got to work. I did a Google search to find a lockout service that was the closest. I found one that popped up, and called. I'm not that familiar with Westmont, so I thought I made a good choice. I called Johnnys towing in Lombard and was quoted a price of $125! I thought that was a bit much considering how close I was. I ended up doing another Google search, and found Superior, and they were closer to where I was. I called, was given a quote by a friendly, energetic gentleman. He gave me a price, unfortunately that price didn't match the one that I saw on Yelp, but it was better than the $125 I was quoted by the other place. After getting a better price, I called Johnnys to cancel the call and was rudely hung up on! After a very short wait, I got a call and Charlie (I think that was his l name), was outside. He was friendly, professional and made me laugh and smile during a pretty crappy moment. He even suggested that I contact my insurance company to see if they'll cover the fee. What a guy! Just based off his amazing customer service, I would recommend them for all your towing/lockout needs. Unfortunately I had to use them to jump start my car on Saturday, January 12, 2019. I live very close to their location. They charged me $90.00 for taking out a portable charging machine. They were recommended by a tire and auto firm, Main Guys. I won't use them either. I had to get to work and was under pressure..that's the only reason I used them. I am a senior person and not using this as an excuse, but no one should be charged this outrageous price. By the way, the charging machine can be purchased for about the same price and can be used over and over again. You live and learn, as the saying goes. There are many other companies to use. Luckily they're not the only game in town. DB PS I then went to Firestone at 63rd and Cass and they did a diagnostic test on my battery, FREE OF CHARGE! My wife's car tire went flat while she was at work. I was not able to get to her quickly, so I needed to call someone to come assist her. I called a few different places before I found Charlie at Superior Roadside Assistance. The other places I called could not guarantee the price, how quickly they could get there or if they could even change the tire, because it was below zero outside, so freezing bolts were an issue. None of this was a problem for Charlie. When I first started speaking with Charlie I could tell he was different from the other companies. First off, he was friendly! When you have to call for roadside assistance it is almost always because something stressful has occurred; it is nice to have someone on the other line who is cheery, calm and helpful. I explained the problem to Charlie and he immediately provided a solution. I mentioned to him some of the issues other companies I called told me they may run into, Charlie assured me he would take care of everything. He quoted me a fair price and time frame. He said he would be there in about a half hour and arrived to my wife's car in 20 minutes or less. My wife showed him where the spare tire was and then he told her to go inside and he would take care of it (it was below zero out, so this was kind of him). We have only had this car for a couple weeks, we bought it used and of course the spare tire was flat. Charlie filled the spare with air for my wife and inspected the flat tire. He took care of everything quickly and called my wife to let her know he was done. He called me next and then I paid the bill, which was the same price he had quoted earlier. Another company I called said they needed a credit card number upfront and would charge us even if they could not remove the tire due to frozen bolts! Charlie went above and beyond and trusted I would pay once the problem was solved. I could not be happier with the service he provided for my wife and me. His pricing was fair and he over delivered on service. Next time my wife or I need vehicle assistance in or around Dupage County, we will be calling Charlie! read more
