This is definitely a puppy mill. There were about half a dozen puppies locked up in cages that were…read moreabout the size of a standard moving box. They all looked very sad and were of mostly the same breed. There were fish tanks filled with algae growth. With aisles were small, it smelled like rabbit pee and there were no rabbits. There were 3 birds, a few betas, one filled fish tank, and the cages of pups. The whole place was a mess with hoses and all sorts of stuff lying around. Also, when you walk in, the door makes the loudest most obnoxious ding I've ever heard. I did not see anyone working there until we tried to walk down the messiest aisle that had a bird out of its cage, and he suddenly appeared and I think he said we're not supposed to go over there. Not really sure. Anyway, this place should probably be closed down.

He was beautiful, his nails were trimmed AND Robbie was able to trim the fur between his pads which our prior groomer was never able to do. Bentley seemed very comfortable there and now I have absolutely no reservation about bringing him back. Next appt is already in the book and we are very happy with our experience at The Dog House! The whole process was more than enjoyable, as we really felt part of the mother's (Sophie's) pregnancy with frequent updates. After that litter of pups was born, they were very communicative to all of the families who were slated to be the future homes for those pups. Once the pups had received their immunizations, we were able to visit them--wonderful! Sue and Roland were more than welcoming, and we really felt like part of their extended "dog family"--you can immediately sense the love of their own animals, and that trickled down to the adorable litter that their dog, Sophie, had delivered. They are very open to questions, and are transparent with information about health, care, etc. We are excited to hopefully get another Golden from them whenever the next litter arrives! Oodles of cool stuff some funky some standard but it was Maggie's magnanimous personality that hooked me. She noticed my Stevie Ray T shirt and that sparked the talk. A radio DJ in a past life living in the Pioneer Valley of western MA and me having spent a little time out there and we both being music fans, we hit it off. She now lives on a 10acre farm in Rehoboth with 100 + chickens! No wonder she is an expert on chickens, birds and wildlife! How I got there- I picked up meds at Holmes Vets and was drawn to Chickadees maybe it was the big rooster out front or maybe just a cosmic pull, but I was a glad to make a new friend, learn and buy something that hopefully solves an annoying problem. It's one that most back yard bird lovers have to deal with, chipmunks! It's not that I mind feeding my 6 squirrel children, I just don't want them stealing ALL the bird food., Maggie recommended a type of bird seed that has hot pepper on it! Mammals with wet palates, like us and squirrels don't like it so hot! Birds have dry palates and can't taste it so they don't mind it. Will put it out there tomorrow morning and see for myself. She got lots of hugs and kisses and Missy gave her a bully stick (her very first) and she loved it! They are so friendly and welcoming there. They have a table set up with baked goods and apple cider which we took full advantage of. The store is so clean and well organized and Missy was patient and so knowledgeable when asked a ton of questions by us with regards to our new pup. They have a huge selection of everything you would need for your pet. We will definitely be back!! Thank you so much Missy!!! Millie is happily eating her bully stick at the moment while we get our things done around the house.
