The Occupational and Physical Therapists were knowledgeable and friendly! They allowed me to observe, ask questions and interact so that I was better prepared to help my husband with his transition home. In addition, I was extremely impressed with the case manager who gave us detailed information concerning what our insurance was responsible for during my husband's recovery. She also communicated with both of us and prepared us for when Bruce was being released from Freedom Village and what equipment he would need to have a safe transition back to our house. She also communicated with home healthcare and we now find it easy to schedule home visits with OT?PT therapistS. We both would recommend Freedom Plaza rehab to anyone recovering from an injury or illness.

The front desk staff is really pleasant and so ready to assist when you walk through those doors whenever I have come to visit. I love the type of care the Seniors receive. They also have an amazing Bible study on Tuesdays which is good for their souls. I can't say enough good things about them. They always greet me with a big smile and conversation that it's obvious they truly care about people. There are so many good people from Housekeeping, Restaurant and Maintenance employees that I would love to recognize each and everyone of them for taking such good care of all The seniors that live here. Shower times are always at a different time even though they are supposed to be on a schedule. The folks living there, many complain they wait a long time just to be served, let alone waiting more time for the food to get served. Sometimes they are out of stock on many of the foods they have listed. Their call buttons that they wear are pretty much useless as far as I am concerned. It only registers at the desk with a light they need help. Well, what kind of help??? Did they fall and can't get up or they are hurt?? Sick?? or are they just needing something that is not too important. Staff has NO IDEA where they are. My friend was outside by the pool in the heat having issues and could not get up off the chair. No one was around, no cameras checking the pool area they were outside for quite a while before they got enough strength to get themself up. Staff never found my friend and never looked outside either. The call button only works 1 time. you can push it 10 times but it's only the first time you press it that it notifies the staff. The Staff does seem pretty friendly, but they need more help and BETTER management running the place. There should be at least cameras on the outside of the building especially the pool area. We are talking SENIORS after all.

My biggest issue, NO ONE and I do mean NEVER EVER does the skilled facility actually answer the phone, so there is no way to call and check in on your loved one if they aren't capable of answering/ calling you. Second biggest issue was medications, I was not told to bring the meds from home (I place that error on the hospice) but after he was there they requested the meds, so I drove there after work with the meds. The nurse on only took 2 or 3 stating they received the rest delivered from the pharmacy. I good, right? Wrong. The night shift nurse in day 3 calls me (Bless her) and says, hey did you know we only have some of his meds? I drive over and bring his meds again. When they sent him home, didn't send all the meds home, lol had to drive over to pick up and 2 of the med bottles were lost forever. At this point i want to mention it's a 45 min drive from my home one way, blah. He did have a fall at the facility, while using the restroom alone. No real injuries and they did notify me (The nurse used her personal cell so she did answer when I returned that call)! Facility was clean and the room spacious, but the respite stay was not restful for me.

My pain and discomfort was addressed by the staff and my stay was pleasant considering what I was at the facility for. My caregivers, Arsinio, Carmen and Molly were EXCELLENT. My case manager kept me advised of my coverage and my rights. At a time in my life, when I needed help the most, this was the right place to be. Thank you all for your dedication and knowledge. He's here smiling he knows what to do to keep him in good shape, Educating him was very important there were a lot of misconceptions. 11. My mother was 89 when she was there, and we're about to celebrate her 91st birthday she had done a job on her femur bone, they helped her learn to walk and strengthen her leg. Thank you so much. They send text messages about things that are happening. They have a great program with their activities. There's program from 8:30 in the morning till 6 o'clock at night. You couldn't have an activity. They have aqua aerobics which I love and it's great. I have a great room that's fully remodeled 890 ft.² and I love it. It's beautiful everything about this place. It's beautiful. They remodeling everything on the outside and the inside the remodeling all little rooms so it's great. It's a great company and I have had nothing but positive to say about this place

All-in pricing covering everything is attractive and ideal for budget-focused seniors. The staff are all very nice but there has been lots of turnover over time. The one drawback is that the food is awful. The chef has a big ego but produces poor quality food. Poor planning results in food not being available so menu changes are constant. The food is very heavy - both lunch and dinner are hot and heavy meat dishes while it is 113 degrees outside. Some wrap sandwiches and light salads for lunch some days would make more sense for summer. People are very unhappy with the food quality, and the director does not hold the chef accountable to correct the problem. The company's sister property in Glendale has much better food and the kitchen there is run by a professional chef who takes the resident feedback seriously. Please fix this problem and do better for us seniors who have to consume 3 meals a day at Vista del Rio. Note - posted under an anonymous name to protect resident privacy.
