Westgate Mall is frankly a mess. This is a "mall" that's a weird Mall/Shopping Center/Office Space hybrid. It really feels that this mall was neglected for a long time, with recent owners trying to gradually redo and modernize it. Westgate Mall is one exit from the Lehigh Valley International Airport, but is also close to the more trendier shopping options at the Airport Shopping Center. Interior wise Westgate is all over the place with significant vacancies and water damage. You have the mall portion, that is retro looking, and built on a downward slope. Several storefronts have both interior and exterior entrances. Mall interior has mostly restaurants, with a few other stores mixed in-between. Sky Zone Trampoline Park and Weis Markets are the largest anchor stores, with the Weis being a small oddly shaped store. Another small interior portion exists on the other side of Weis, which is mostly vacant. Westgate has a second floor of office space occupied by several businesses with access on the other side of Weis. There are also several stores with only exterior entrances including Rite Aid. Externally, most of Westgate Mall's facade was redone in the mid 2010's. The future of Westgate Mall is not the clearest. Weis Markets will move down to the front of the former Bon-Ton, and have a much larger space, but no entrance from in the mall. Leasing plans exist that show part of the mall down by the former Bon-Ton being combined into a larger space. The small interior portion on the other side of Weis would be better reconfigured with external entrances and much more useful. Overall, this is basically a local's mall that needs further modernization and renovations. read more

Outside of Subway I have one question: Why? As in why would anyone actually go here for anything. The Weis has exorbitant prices and everything that you can get at the "stores" in the mall or at Bon Ton you can get elsewhere for cheaper and likely better. The place is a dump. read more

It all depends on your expectations. If you go to the Westgate Mall intending to do anything except walk around an abandoned mall and remember what stores used to be in there, you will be sorely disappointed. Westgate Pizza does have good pizza. I wish the dog still hung out in front of the pet store though. That was a nice dog. read more

Stopping in to shop, very disappointed with how many pot holes are in the lot consistently. I've been coming here for over 5 years now, they are putting some money into the look of the mall which is nice but they need to fix the pot holes. read more

I miss the Westgate mall of the 80's, when it was actually a mall! Now it's a deserted strip that's held together by the BonTon and Weis market. You have a few places worth running into real quick such as the Wine & Spirits store for your stock up on booze, Westgate pizza for something to go with the booze, The tanning salon so you look good while boozing and Rite Aid for Tylenol for your post booze hangover. Aside from that you don't have much going on at the Westgate mall, which quite frankly makes me sad. read more

Diana F., I forgot about Cargo West! Great nostalgia. When the Lehigh Valley Mall was "too far to go" to hang out, I'd spend an afternoon (!) at Westgate, with McCrory's, Hess's, J's Subs, Record City, Total Essence. Wow. Now my friends call it the Deathgate Mall and although I still shop there it's only because it's still convenient. Brooklyn Bagels used to be my favorite bagels (no more) and I crave Mocha Mike's (in the parking lot). You can also find great clothes at the Via Thrift Boutique (next to the dollar store...) and actually, the Weis-King's supermarket isn't bad. And if you shop after all the senior citizens go home (by 5:30) you don't have to deal with any crowds at all. Panda Cleaners is my favorite dry cleaner and some friends are huge fans of the Beef Baron (is it the Beef Baron or Beef House here?) Actually, this mall is so un-cool and un-trendy, that it's actually kinda cool. read more

Growing up in Bethlehem, I had two choices -- either hang out at the Lehigh Valley mall or the Westgate mall. The latter was closer to my parents' house, and so I've unfortunately spent many hours here. Essentially, it is probably one of the first strip malls ever built. If World War 3 breaks out, I'm pretty sure the Westgate Mall would survive even that. The only good thing I really have to say about this place is that sometimes the Bon Ton has cute clothing in its juniors department. And Westgate Pizza is sort of awesome. read more

Nothing worth going to. The Chinese buffet contains food that is either too greasy, sweet, salty, soggy or a combination therein. There is a trampoline place there if you want to bounce up and down. Mostly closed stores and now the over-priced Bon-Ton is gone. This whole mall should be torn down and rebuilt. It is in prime location yet it is mostly empty. No reason to go unless you are going to the liquor store. read more

Why haven't they burned this place into the ground or had a demo party like Veterans Stadium you ask?? Perhaps it is a Westgate Pizza keeping it afloat (on dough alone), or BonTon and The Beef Baron are both on the hook for a 50 year lease? Not sure really. Perhaps it is generation after generation taking there families there. Either way it is a great living nostalgia of what a strip mall was really like....ok I was joking. So rundown and boring; very depressing! The GNC is the only place up to date and worth shopping at, and the tiny pet store might have a few things. Kay Jewelers is not my thing but an employee was very lovely to talk to one day when I had time to kill. The used jewelry/cash for gold store next to it is run by a very rude and condescending matron who talked down to me when I had a question. It was too polite of me to even give her the time of day and take interest in her crappy business. I loathed this place (with the exception of the girl at Kay's. As a former owner of a small vacuum cleaner repair shop that was in that mall for over 40 years , my lease was not renewed by the new and current nasty management , due to my storefront and the neighboring one which was a florist was going to be knocked down , here 1/12 years later it stands empty , I was also told verbally by the owner himself that he would leave a we've moved sign up for me on my storefront window for as long as it still stands , well himself and his somewhat rude and arrogant staff removed it after 5 months , as I always believe , what goes around , comes around . read more

this place will always have a special place in my heart since I too spent many hours here. I miss the stores from my youth like mccrory's and cargo west, but at least the candy carousel is still there (best ice cream cone for $1!). the "arcade" is laughable but hey, they're trying. it seems like this mall has been anchored by stores like bon ton, amateur athlete, payless, and art and drafting, with a bunch of other garbage filling in the gaps. read more

This mall used to be good to walk in, I went here as a kid with my grandparents who lived only 5 minutes away, while it still has the walkway, has mostly eateries open, most closed and vacant stores then open ones, I'll put this mall well ahead of the Whitehall Mall cause at least it has more stores open. Hi everyone, I can't really speak for the mall currently as I have not been there in 27 years, but I have read the other reviews and I'm impressed that the mall still exists. I remember it very fondly from my days as a preteen and as a teenager. Instead of Weiss it was George's Foodliner. there was a beverage store that sell Charles Chips, soda and beer. there was a McCrory's which was kind of like a five and dime. I remember Record City where I bought cassette tapes. There was a music store called Kinneman's, where my mom had me take piano lessons at age 7 in 1981. There was Alice Kay for women's clothing, there was Klymer's Carousel where are my mom took both my brother and I for little kids clothes. One half of the carpet was red and the other half was blue. Boys were on the blue side and girls were on the red side. I loved shopping at Waldenbooks for my favorite Nancy Drew book or Sweet Valley High book, and I loved Cargo West for scratch and sniff stickers which were a huge hit in 1984. I remember sitting on Santa's lap for the first time at the Westgate Mall and he gave me rock candy. I also remember buying Swedish berries and lollipops at the candy carousel, which I hear is still there. Of course I remember Hess's on the end which became a Bon Ton. there were many other stores besides the ones I mentioned, there were no empty storefronts at all. I mentioned the ones I remember. So this post is really more about a blast from the past from someone who grew up close to the mall and went there fairly often between 1980 and 1992. I often went with a friend and we created memories there. I don't live close to the mall anymore but for some reason felt I wanted to look it up on the web to see how it was doing. There may be a time when this mall eventually closes down, so I wanted to tell everyone about the past while I have a chance. read more

I used to own a DVD rental machine in here. I had a business agreement worked up with the management of the Westgate mall for them to stock the machine for me in my absence. After a couple of months I noticed that there were several of my movies being unloaded or not placed in the machine for weeks . I tried to resolve this on a number of occasions and he manager told me he would help me resolve it. Nothing happened. Some weeks went by and I saw it was still occurring and I spoke to one of the assistants there and asked her why there was a delay in having my new products put in the machine and she yelled at me on the phone and told me to stock it my self if I didn't like what they were doing. I tried to reason with her to no avail. I waited a few days to cool off and finally sent an email telling the manager that I will be changing the access codes due to these product disappearances and a failure to resolve them, I then told him that that I will be stocking the machine my self in the future. The manager responded with an insult calling me a coward and he cc'd all of his staff. Very unprofessional!!!! I told him that since he chose to act like this then I'll be pulling the machine out within 30 days ( as was our contract terms) he gave me 5 days. The most unprofessional business example I have ever experienced to date. read more

Driving up to the Westgate Mall it looked closed. The halls are dark and not many people, but they were open. The halls are equivalent to a luge track since nothing is level with many tiles missing. Don't ever let go of a baby stroller or it'll start rolling down into the Bon Ton or into one of the condemned store fronts. Many "stores" are vacant or boarded up with ply wood and what look like back doors from someone's house. The nicest place in there is the Subway and even that store isn't in nice condition. I felt my IQ drop every second I was there. I don't know how anyone can consider this to be a mall and society would be better off if this place was leveled off into a parking lot. Westgate Jewelers is the worst and will also be writing a review for that horrendous store. read more

i used to go to the westgate mall all the time, i love j's subs and the cute little shops. the main reason i went there however was because of a stand in the middle of the mall. it was called Total Essence. I always bought their china musk, african musk perfume oil. i freakin' LOVED those perfumes and now the store is no longer there. can anyone please tell me whatever happened to this store and if they are still around can anyone give me the website name or phone number?? i miss that store soooo much. i really loved those perfume oils. ughnhhhh!!!! i'm so mad they're not there anymore. thanks. read more
