My wife and I were looking to upgrade from our Ford Bronco into something more family-oriented with our newborn, and we had our eyes set on a KIA Telluride. They had exactly what we wanted on site! Had an appointment booked to buy a specific pre-owned vehicle same day. I had been in constant communication with the sales team throughout the day including getting information on OTD amounts for me to get a cashier's check. I sat in traffic for 45 mins for my appointment only to arrive and be told the specific car I was buying had already been sold the day before I even reached out! The people I met at the dealership were very friendly and this seems to be an issue with their online team, but overall bad experience from a business perspective. read more

Awful experience, do not buy a car here!! -The car dealership owner requires you sign up for a "theft recovery warranty" that is anywhere from $700-$1400 depending on how many years you choose. -We asked a simple question about self starting features and how we wanted to install them on our own. Well the salesman MATTHEW included that in the price at $900. Matthew says they can't install the self starter because its a Sienna and they are a Kia dealership. We said ok we were going to install it on our own anyway like we told you. Only after my husband read the find print in the quoted price, he noticed that $900 charge for this! This service only costs $200-300 to do anywhere else. -We wanted to trade in our car. The manager was not willing to work with us at all. The car we were interested in has been sitting on their lot for over 2 months. -RAMON has 0 customer service skills. Honestly I am so disgusted with how he spoke to me. I am in sales and he should not be dealing with people. He was belittling, rude, disrespectful, and did not seem interested in closing a deal. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Come to find out the car we were interested in is over priced compared to carfax. I hope the owner enjoys the bonus he gets by forcing "protection plans" on everyone. TERRIBLE. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be out 20 grand. Managers and part of the staff there are useless, especially Ramon and Matthew. Got a 2020 Frontier, used as is. They lie and say they do thorough inspections. Tell me why the wheel bearings on both sides were bad and I was sold a truck with ZERO transmission fluid in it. When I call back they said well it was "As is" aka good luck. Shifting from 3rd to 4th this horrible jerk, took it to the Nissan dealership because I live 1.5 hours away. Zero fluid in there and then west gate Kia staff wants to argue with the 3rd party warranty and try not to take blame, needed a new transmission which they REFUSED to do. Staff at west gate even hung up on 3rd party warranty company after being extremely rude. So I called NC Highway Patrol, all of a sudden i can get my car back. What a joke of a dealership. Had to get the authorities and the owner of the dealership involved, management doesn't communicate to one another, so no one knew what was going on. Forgot to mention I was out of pocket on a rental for 10 days because this sad excuse of a dealship can't do solid business. Don't go here, I'd rather walk 100 miles on glass than accept a free ride to the bus stop from this place. HORRIBLE read more

I too had a problem, (being of African American descent) felling it more of a shakedown/criminal background check, questioning how I could but down more than 2/3 of the vehicle cost. They put dealer plates on the car, and gave her a "We Owe". Once she got back to Virginia, the car wouldn't get out of first gear. Trying to get through to service is impossible. On the average it seems to take an hour or more to get them on the phone. They have my car and I'm waiting to hear from them to find out if I'm going to need to get a loan for repairs. Plus it's getting so late in the day that they might not even be able to get repairs complete. They're only 1.2 miles from me but next time I'm going to the next closest dealership. The service department is a joke. I took my car in to get it looked at AFTER the Kia boys tried to steal my car from the apartment complex where I live. So, I dropped my car off on a Wednesday and Gonzalo was my advisor. The claims adjuster came to look at the car on Thursday and left his phone number and email for Gonzalo to give him a call and to get an invoice for the claim. I had not heard from Gonzalo since Wednesday so I called him on Saturday and told him the claims adjuster was trying to get hold of him, to add an oil change and that I just wanted to come get my car and he said I could come get it on Monday. I got a call from the insurance adjuster on Monday morning saying he STILL had NOT heard a word from Gonzalo about my car. I then called Gonzalo to inquire about what was going on and he said he had tried to call insurance but that was NOT true. So, my friend and I get to dealership to get my car and my friend asked if ALL fluids were topped off and he said YES. I was driving a few days later and went to use my windshield washer fluid to get debris off windshield. Guess what, NO FLUID came out. I paid 109 for an oil change and 160 for diagnostic test to see if ignition was damaged. I got home and realized that the upper part that goes around steering column is now broken which was not broken before dropping my car off. We deserve better from this dealership. The Westgate Kia Core Values are Dishonesty and Unethical Business Practices. My wife had been going back-and-forth with Westgate Kia for a few days with regards to a used vehicle in their inventory. After some discussion via email, my wife extended an offer for the vehicle countering their original quote. Their response to my wife's counter-offer was to increase the price by approximately $1k from their original quote (pictures attached). I find this kind of practice deeply dishonest, as they obviously felt they had my wife baited in and then went for more (typical slime ball car salesmen tactic, in addition to thinking they can jerk a woman around). The increase of the price was done by their "sales manager" Ramon Gavilan. Needless to say, we walked away from pursuing this vehicle, as we will not do business with dishonest companies and their dishonest sales manager. So if you're a buyer on the market for a new car, beware of this dealership. They will try and take you for a ride. read more

Overall, the dealership is ok. We have not had the follow through we were told we'd get after buying a car from them. My main issue is with the service department. Their work is adequate. We've more than once had to take the car in to them to repair an issue because it wasn't fixed after the last time we took it, or they have to order more parts or whatever. That's all fine. I get that sometimes they don't see what we see just from test driving it. What is not ok is the quality of communication we've gotten. I have used Gonzalo for multiple cars, and he seems like a nice enough guy. But communication is lacking, and today, it caused us to pay for things that we shouldn't have to pay for. We were set up for a tire rotation and oil change today, so we dropped the car off at 7 AM. We got a phone call at 8 saying that we would have to pay for our oil change (despite having free oil changes for life) because I had changed the cabin air filter, which had recently started to smell up the vehicle with how gross it was. Now, the last time they changed the filters for us, I specifically asked him if I could change the filters to the aftermarket ones that are reusable. And I was told that yes, I can change the engine filter, but the cabin filter will have to still be changed because they don't make a reusable one for Tellurides. No where in what he told me did he say that Kia has to change the filter or it voids our free oil change. He just said that it would have to be done. I tried calling him this morning shortly after 8 to discuss this and try and resolve the matter, since he had only talked to my girlfriend. I left a message for him, and he never called me back. We didn't hear from him at all until almost 5 PM, when he again called my girlfriend. This is not only poor communication, but miscommunication...and his miscommunication cost his customer, which didn't seem to matter to him. read more

We were not happy with the quality of the vehicles offered. We came to look at a Kia Sedona. The one we specifically requested wasn't even sellable. It was leaking and we should have left then and there. The second one we test drove was filled with trash, looked very used inside, smelled awful and had no gas in the tank. There was also considerable damage to the paint job on the front bumper. We also were not happy with the treatment we received from the sales manager. We were told our trade meant nothing to him. He was rude and inconsiderate. We went to Hendrick Kia in Cary where we received excellent service and were treated very warmly and fairly. We found a 2020 Kia Sedona for the same price with much lower mileage that was very clean and had gas in the tank when we went to take it for a test drive. We were also given the KBB cash value price for our like new Kia Optima and they were very appreciative of our trade in. We were told they can't keep cars on the lot, they are selling so fast. Now we know why your lot is filled with cars. No one wants to buy them from you. read more

I know with the shortage of cars most people are pretty desperate. We we're. We waited six months for our car but I can tell you it is definitely not worth going to this one. Do anything you can to avoid it because you will be disappointed. When we told them we were going to use our bank for financing. the manager told us it would affect their numbers if we didn't use their financing. We told him whatever institution gave us the best percentage we would use. In the end, we did go with their financing company but the way he spoke to us and the way we felt pressured was not very professional. Later I asked him if he would throw in some all weather mats. He told me if I did a survey he would do that. When I got the link for the survey, I filled it out immediately. I mentioned there was a small scratch on the car that we didn't notice when we purchased because it was dark. When we went back in, both the manager and the salesman treated us pretty badly. The manager then tells me because I mentioned the scratch they were going to lose money out of both their paychecks. Apparently I was supposed to go back in there and fill out the survey with him looking over my shoulder. The next day I contacted the GM and left a message but never heard back. It seems like that kind of treatment must come from the top because he or she obviously did not care how bad our experience was. read more

Today my daughter and I went to look at a preowned car at Westgate Kia in Wake Forest...we were met outside by a lovely saleswoman who listened to my daughter and her needs/wants and financial abilities. We test drove vehicle we went to look at and didn't love it, she went to get us another to check out but it was above her means. She took down all info and said I'll keep an eye out and let you know (so far a great experience) and then her Manager (I think his name was Bob but not sure) came over and sat in her chair and started badgering my daughter about how she should finance a vehicle and how she won't be able to get anything with what she had to spend ($15k that she worked to save so she didn't have to take a load while in college) he went on about how she needs credit and blah blah blah. I stood up and said (in a stern voice) she doesn't want a loan nor does she now want to deal with your company. He called me rude! 2 stars due to the lovely saleswoman (i wish i got her name to compliment her properly). Negative 3 stars for the rude insensitive manager who didn't listen to my daughter just harassed her telling her what she needed rather then listen to her! Last Saturday, as we started a road trip to Hilton Head, my 2011 KIA which has never, ever had a problem in the 10 years that I have owned her started losing power. Fortunately, we were close to Westgate KIA. I rolled her in white knuckled and sputtering. We told Duncan, the service manager, and Josh the service employee our situation. They immediately took my car back (on a SATURDAY!), called us an UBER to come pick us up to have lunch, while they checked out my car. My detailer, had for "free" cleaned my engine and had gotten water into the spark plugs and coils. Josh called to tell me that while it was running they would not be able to guarantee that my car wouldn't have trouble again an hour down the road if water dripped down from an area they could not reach. I asked if they had a rental available for us. Duncan made it happen, within an hour we had moved our luggage and were back on vacay time! When we picked up our car on the way back to Richmond, she drove great. What could have been a disaster, was saved by Duncan and Josh. Wow, really can't believe I have to write this unfavorable review. I've purchased two cars from this dealership and have always been treated with respect and kindness. Obviously things have changed in the few years since I purchased my vehicle. I sure hope the sales department didn't change but the service department is terrible. Communication was non existent and what we were told was untrue. Mr. Orlanzo =, Service Manager, really needs some customer service training or just basic people skills. Here's what happened, Brought a vehicle for gas cap release replacement. when we dropped the vehicle off, we were told it would be approximately $100 and would be ready in about an hour. While we were there we told them the phone number had changed, the clerk wrote it down. After not hearing from them for 3 hours, we called and they stated the phone number was incorrect; because they were calling the old number. Then they stated the cost would be over $300.00 plus the $15 of gas they had to put in the vehicle, gas was low, but not low enough that they had to add any, the car didn't have to be running during the repair. OK, so we drive up to the shop asked what was going on and they just asked if we were going to have the work done or not. At that time Mr. Orlanzo strolls out of his office and interrupts the clerk we were talking to and simply starts stating events, which he didn't have the knowledge of and was incorrect, even the clerk had to correct him. Then he tried to debate how much gas was in the car and how much it took. Basically his motive was to prove anything we said incorrect. His demeanor was cold and off-putting, he wasn't there to help the customer, he was there to make money - his next question was "So are you still going to get the work done"? I told him NO we needed to do some research and figure things out before we make a decision. We asked for the car to be brought around and he asked us at least twice more if we were going to get the work done. At that time, we just said NO, just bring us the car, we're done!" Then he practically ran out to the service area - "I'll go get the car". Then it took another 20 minutes before it came out. The clerk stated the technician is still in the ticket. This gave us a VERY BAD feeling that SOMETHING harmful was being done to the vehicle. When Mr. Orlanzo finally brought the car up, I walked outside and ask him what was done and he rudely stated he put some tape over the closure; no way did that take 20 minutes and there was NOT $15 of gas in the tank, see picture attached. He also just walked away, didn't apologize or seem concerned about any customer satisfaction. We still had to pay for the $98.00 diagnostic fee, I guess that was for the tape! I guess I won't be buying my new Telluride here and will definitely tell all my friends and clients NOT to waste there time here; it's a shame that your sales department is exemplary but service department will kill your business. read more

They pitch free oil changes for life but what they dishonestly don't tell you during the sales cycle is that you have do do all scheduled maintenance through them. They also force you to go on the schedule for extreme conditions which doubles the maintenance cycle. They do have a form that explains about the scheduled maintenance but it's buried in the pile of papers you need to sign at purchase closing and they go past it very quickly. My fiancé and I recently took our daughter car shopping. She had worked very hard over the summer to save up and was excited by the prospect of another step toward independence. She was starting her first semester at college and needed a vehicle to get back and forth to school and work. Unfortunately, we were not in a position to help financially with the down payment , but could possibly co-sign, though our credit scores left much to be desired. We went from dealership to dealership, and even to the local buy here/pay here lots. No one would approve us. The story was the same everywhere! My daughter did not make enough money per month and had no credit history. She could not get a loan on her own. With me co-signing, my income would help, but my credit was far too stretched, with several major issues. We had pretty much given up when we ended up at Westgate KIA in Wake Forest. The first person to meet us with a warm smile was Ahmed. He spoke to my fiancé about our situation and he suggested to start with the bank she sends her direct deposit to. With my daughter not having any credit history to show, he was hoping the bank may be able to offer a promotion that could help. Unfortunately, her bank was not able to help and we ended up going back to Westgate KIA that same evening. Ahmed suggested we attempt the loan application with me co-signing with my daughter. We tried this, but because of the black marks on my credit, it was denied. We thanked Ahmed for his help. He was not only genuine in a very refreshing way, we felt like he had our best interest at heart. We left obviously disappointed that we could not get a vehicle for my daughter, but still in a decent mood due to our good experience with Ahmed. That night while I was at work, a local number that I did not recognize called my cell phone several times. I kept rejecting the call thinking it was the wrong number or a telemarketer, and thought nothing more of it. The next day, my fiancé and I spoke to our daughter about how we were ruming out of options. We decided that we would drive around later to see if there were any places we had missed. However, we were certain it would be in vain, as everywhere had already denied us. We got in the car about to start the search when my fiancés phone rang. It was Ahmed from Westgate KIA. I thought to myself, how nice he is calling to follow up. My fiancé scared us as he said, "You have got to be kidding me!" He looked over and said, "Ahmed at Kia got us approved!" I was in shock! Come to find out, after we left the night before Ahmed was so disappointed we were not approved, he worked on the deal after we left, reaching out to various resources for assistance. It was not easy, but Ahmed was relentless until he finally got a YES! He had been trying to get in touch with us the night before to share the good news. My daughter is now driving a brand new 2019 KIA Forte. We have the peace of mind of KIA's awesome warranty and I feel better knowing my daughter will be driving to college in something dependable. I just took my Kia soul in for a oil change. Gonzalo Tomas was my Service Advisor. Tomas was very helpful and friendly.

I took my 2012 Kia Sorento in to have the 120,000 service and replace the rear view camera and passenger seat warmer. Because the parts for the camera and seat warmer had to be ordered, I paid for the parts and would be charged for the service when the work was done. The parts came in and they fixed the camera. However, the seat warmer part that was sent was the wrong part. Box said it was the right part, but it contained the wrong part. They ordered it again. The part came in, the box was right but THE PART IS THE WRONG PART. No one in the US has the part. The part is made in Korea (at first the idiot didn't know if it was North or South Korea - duh!). They had my car over a weekend that I had to drive over 400 miles, so they gave me a SERVICE LOANER. That's what it said in big letters on the side. The registration tag on the license plate read 5/19 - but I was told it was correctly registered. Just glad I didn't get pulled over. The loaner was an Optima and I like it until I checked out the spare tire. NO SPARE TIRE. Just a kit to repair the tire and inflate it. Glad I didn't get a flat. It's been more than 3 weeks and I'm still waiting on an explanation on why the part can't be found. I was told by the Service Manager that the Regional Service Manager would call me and explain what is happening. Two weeks later, I'm still waiting to hear from him. When I brought the car back to have the seat warmer put in (still not the right part), I asked them to check the battery because it sounded like it took awhile to start in the cold. I don't think they did that because the car still sounds like the battery is low in the cold when I start it. I loved Leith Kia, but it's gone down hill since it became Westgate Kia. The location of the dealer is in an awkward place. You can only make a right hand turn out of the dealership to get on the highway and then you have to go down the road to make a U-turn to get back on US 1. I really dread going there because I'm just waiting to get hit trying to get either in or out of the dealer. I told them that I would never buy another car from them and that as soon as they get the part and repair my seat warmer, I will be taking the car somewhere else for service. I didn't go there to look around and kick tires. I went there to buy a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Pro Diesel, mid-October 2018. It was over-priced, I knew it, they knew it! I offered them my '14 Cadillac SRX Premium and $22,000 cash. Fair to them, fair to me! They weren't interested in fair to me, it was all about them! Lots of numbers written down, scratched out, re-written, shoved across the desk and pressure applied, I was having none of it. They knew that I had been born at night, their mistake was, thinking it was last night! I gave them a few days to realize their mistake, come to their senses and call me, they didn't. This place may say westgate Kia but it is still Chris Leith. If I would have known this I would have never went back to them. Same managers and workers. They are frauds. 3 Years after leasing my soul there I went to lease another for my wife and they tried to scam. I went to another dealer to get my car serviced after. Being they changed the name I figured I would go back cause they got bought over. And my lease was up. I was wrong. They kept me and my wife and 4 month old there for 2 hours. We just wanted a buyout quote on my lease or a price on a new lease. They tried giving us numbers without even running credit. Then they where going to give us a 2018 Kia Soul that was all chipped up and scratched and had 430 miles on it. When question about the chips and scratches the sale person just laughed at us. They tried to get us to sign papers without even giving us prices on either the lease buyout or the new lease. I already signed the form to allow them to run my credit. When I question the sales person on what he was giving me to sign he said it was more papers to run credit. I told him it wasn't and he got all uncomfortable and jumped up and walked away and for over 20 minutes he hung out at the counter with other workers like it was coffee time for them. After 2 hours which we shouldn't have even stayed that long we walked out. Still they never gave us a price on either car and we definitely where not taking a car with chips and scratches. The next day we went to Fred Anderson Kia and leased a brand new black Kia Soul. No chips or scratches and got more options for the price we wanted. They made our experience so pleasant. They ran credit and within 20 min we agreed on a car and a price. No more than 2 hours we where driving home in our new car. Beware of Westgate Kia. They are frauds and will try and scam you in every way. Don't waste your time. They treat you like you are stupid and trash. Will never step foot in this dealership again! read more

After a good purchase experience, my remaining experience with Kia and Westgate Kia has been the worst automotive experience I have ever had. I purchased a certified pre-owned Kia Soul EV (all electric) from Westgate over a year ago. I can honestly tell you that I do love the vehicle...when it is working/driving but the first time I had an issue and needed to bring it in for service, I found out that they were not not certified to work on electric Kia's and the closest dealership was in Maryland. Long story short, since owning the car for approximately a year and a half and having to have the car serviced 3 times, I have to have my car shipped to MD/VA every time, it takes over a month every time to get the car serviced and during this time, I am not able to get a loaner or rental so I am left car-less for over 3 months of my ownership so far while my car is being serviced. Worst part is, I was NEVER told this when buying the car. I am also trying to figure out how a non EV certified dealer sold a certified pre-owned EV car? I have tried reaching out to them for help and even emailed asking for the GM to contact me. I even reached out to their sales team explaining my frustration and they brushed it off while trying to overcharge me for a new lease. I am a long time Westgate customer and have purchased vehicles from their other dealerships but this will be the last and final purchase from Westgate and Kia. Buyers be ware. read more

My wife just bought a brand new Kia from them and I called to schedule her first service and the service department was so incredibly rude that we will be taking her Kia and my truck to Chris Leith Chrysler Jeep. That place is awesome and has amazing customer service. Ever since Leith got sold to Westgate, it went so downhill. I actually could believe how rude this man was to me about simply scheduling a time for me to give them money! He could have cared less when I told him I would be moving to a new place. So sad. They lost years and years of service from me. It's really too bad because I bought both my vehicles from them. read more
