He also is not part of any of the large medical groups in the area (Westfield Family Practice, Summit Medical Group, etc.), which I can only describe as purely money-making organizations. I also liked the idea of visiting a Doctor of Osteopathy instead of an MD, thinking that he might recommend dietary/lifestyle changes in addition to pharmaceuticals. Instead, I had the pleasure of meeting a doctor who laughed at my request for a full blood test as part of a physical, telling me that I was young and skinny, and therefore must be healthy, and don't need to see him. Finally, I just found out that my lovely doctor, or his staff, seems to have lost my medical/prescription records. Despite being a young and healthy adult who doesn't visit the doctor other than for annual check ups (luckily), this is the last straw. Guess I have to look for a new doctor.

She takes "First, do no harm" seriously, and is careful not to prescribe unnecessarily. I have found the side-effects of medication and, unfortunately, surgery, are sometimes bad enough to avoid the treatment altogether. It's good to have a doctor that isn't so eager to do something that she does something ill-advised. I have seen Dr. Pride a couple of times when Dr. Schram hasn't been there. She is kind and caring and if Dr. Schram isn't available, I feel quite comfortable seeing her. I saw Dr. Snyder once. He is friendly and personable and was quite helpful. A response to people who love the doctors but rate the practice low because of wait times: If you want to see a really good doctor, expect to have to wait sometimes. I know it's hard to wait around when you're sick, but when lots of people are sick, you're going to have to wait. A doctor can only see one sick person at a time.

BUT BUT BUT, Dr. Minifra is on an extended maternity leave, and left her patients care to her assistant, Denise Hernandez A.P.R.N. On December 18th, I made a video appointment with Denise, during this call everything went well; as usual. I was told by Denise as we ended the call, to follow up in 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS LATER...... I go to MyChart to schedule a follow-up with Denise, and I can't schedule an appointment, there are NO PROVIDERS LISTED!! Also, there was no way to send a message!! I call the office next, and I'm transferred to someone who tells me "You've been discharged from this practice!! SHOCKED!! ME?? WHY?? All that was explained to me was that "They are short staffed". Next, I was told that they would provide 1 month of medication while I find another provider. Now, for most people this might be ok, but for me, I'm on Controled Substance meds, and finding another provider is More than Difficult, and I explained them of this; THEY DID NOT CARE!! Being a patient with 3 chronic conditions in need of continuous medications, this type of behavior should be ILLEGAL!! Doctors take an oath, to "DO NO HARM", these Doctors Harmed Me Terribly!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS!!

Mike has had painful knee issues for years, and for many of those years, medications and injections were able to help. But by the summer of 2017, Mike was in pain all the time. We wound up cancelling vacations and other activities we enjoyed, because it hurt him just to walk up a couple of steps. Our lives got smaller and smaller, and Mike spent more and more time on the couch. Because we are only in our early 60s, we realized that this could be our lives for the next 30 years! Like most people, we have healthy concerns about surgery, but decided this was no way to live. We met with Dr. Rojer and together, made the decision for total knee replacement. We selected a date for surgery, and Dr. Rojer's experienced staff took it from there. The segue from Dr. Rojer's office to Trinitas Medical Center (and beyond that, to post op care and rehab) was seamless. Much to our amazement, Mike was up and walking around the patient floor with his physical therapists, three hours after surgery! When he was discharged from Trinitas, an at-home physical therapist and a home nurse arrived on our doorstep the next day. We didn't have to make any of the arrangements! Surgery and recovery went so well that we scheduled his second knee replacement, and that went just as smoothly. Mike finishes his last week of physical therapy tomorrow, and for the first time in years, he can walk pain-free. We have already made travel plans to take full advantage of that fact. I called to book for an appointment and was told that there's various doctors but each orthopedist has a specialty. For my shoulder, I was seen by Dr. Christopher Ropiak. Per his recommendation, I should try to do a more holistic and progressive approach which is perfectly fine with me as I do not like taking medications, cortisone shots or surgery myself. Dr. Ropiak is great. He's very knowledgeable and he listens to his patients. I never felt rushed and he answers all questions and concerns. I totally would recommend him. I took the X-rays in the office and minutes later, we got the results and all looked well. I have been following up with Dr. Ropiak as needed and as my healing progressed through physical therapy and a shot of cortisone.
