I haven't had WesTex connect in years so when I had $75.66 taken out of my account on a Saturday, I called Monday morning and was told all the details - name address, different card used the previous months to pay this person's internet (all on-line pmts!) and this was just probably a mistake on their customers part so they would call her and since it was still pending, it wouldn't go thru. It did! When I called back, the billing supervisor told me I could dispute it with my bank - I already did and apparently they disputed my dispute!! She said because it was used as an online payment, they would do nothing about it!! Are they THAT desperate for money??? Customer service sucks as bad as their internet service!! The address they gave me for the person using my card for an on line internet payment isn't even a valid address! Its a field just outside Sweetwater. And I sure can't find the person who uses multiple names on that account! The weird part is one name used is my husbands Aunt who has been dead for years and we had no connections to her in over 40 years!! read more

Ok, here is my story. I had Clear out here in the country. No steady signal took me to hot spots from my phone. But, with hot spots you can use up data and get slowed down. Switched to Dish Net. BAD! After 60 days they took their equipment home, could not make their system work. Now comes WesTex Connect. Showed on time, worked placement to make wife happy. Stayed with me till all units, computers were up and running! It is super fast, just loaded my college course online for Wednesday and it was quick, and painless. Very nice folks, great installers. I set up service on April 5th and was told up to 5 days to set up installation date. I called every week and couldn't get the lady that set up appointment times to call me back. Here it is the 27th and still no call so I went with viasat internet and will be installed the next day. After i set this one up since i had just tryed to get ahold of the appointment lady and left another message with the nice lady who answers the phone. She calls back and says we can do it tomorrow well to late I recommend that no one calls this company if they can't do any better than this. I would have given 0 stars but that was not a option. Since we have been with WesTex connect we have been very pleased with our Internet service. Our service is fast and compared to other rural Internet service providers it is lightning speed. We have had a few issues with our connections after a heavy rain or thunderstorm but they have always been quick to resolve the issues. read more

If I could only give no stars. Absolutely horrible customer service and ridiculous contract terms! The Internet service itself is shoddy at best and they take forever to come out and set the satellite up (weeks) expecting you to be understanding because they're short staffed. Wonder why no one wants to work there?? When they finally do show up they're rude as all hell, you'd think they'ed at least buy you dinner before they screw ya. Last but not least, I constantly receive calls from one of their technicians who thinks he's a comedian and tried to make light of the issues with their service... No ones laughing. We were not able to get internet worth a darn where we live. We do not live that far out of town, but nobody was able to provide service because we were just over the edge of their coverage area. This company was not only able to get us hooked up, but they were very helpful in researching our location to make sure they covered our area! Our service is awesome! Our kids watch Netflix all the time and at the same time on 2 different devises and we are still able to work on the computer with NO LAG TIME! Absolutely PERFECT service! read more

RUN!! Originally got this service installed near Rotan and after they rescheduled 2 times they finally showed up. Had to pay an extra 100 dollars for a pole so that I could get the height I needed, it was a 8 ft piece of tubing. Put it at the peak of the roof on a tripod, big mistake, it leaked and ruined the newly painted sealing. Really slow for 70 dollars a month. Then the real story starts. We moved near Hawley and wanted them to move it, paid, and fought for 3 months calling a couple of time every week to get them to do it but they wouldn't. My next door neighbor had it!! I called them again told them to cancel and send me a bill. Didn't recive a bill for 8 month finally got one and it was for 1200$. Completely crazy! called them trying to be nice at first to tell them there must have had been a mistake.... nope the laid got an attitude with me so I got one back and said they need to fix it ..... well 2 years later I get a collection notice for 1650$ guess who's going to court read more

I am surprised this company is still in business. We moved here 2 yrs ago, and I decided to go with a local internet company-- hoping for better customer service, and I do like to support local business. That decision was a huge mistake. They had to install this very unsightly antenna on top of our roof. My initial thought was that we would get great connection speeds because of this. I was SO wrong! Our service cuts in and out on a regular basis, the connection is always terribly slow, and I feel like I'm wasting my money. We decided to go with sudden link and I have been extremely impressed with their customer service. They got us hooked up fast, and we only pay 3 dollars more per month, with a 1 year contract. AND they will pay $100 dollars towards our "contract buyout" with westex. Trying to cancel service with westex has been awful. The prorated contract buyout makes absolutely no sense. The cancellation charge is $300 for a 3 year term, big red flag right there. We have been with them for 2 yrs, and they are taking $50 off! What?!?! And no one can come and get this awful antenna off my roof for an entire month. The customer service rep was rude, and I'm sure she hates her job because unsatisfied customers call on a regular basis. I really do hope this company goes out of business. Sadly, A company that once cared about their customers and service appears to have changed its direction. We have had a slow and intermittant connection for months, with no customer support. Calls to customer support result in a no help at all. The entire customer base in our area is complaining and sharing stories on facebook, while this company remains completely silent. Most of us have been completely without service for more than a week. Our requests for bills to be discounted resulted in a flat refusal from the company. We have heard the same from other users. Ignore your customers long enough and they will stop bugging you. If you're in a rural area you don't have many choices for internet. I WOULD NOT use this company if I didn't have to. Its outrageously expensive. 99.00 for 4 Meg really???? The service is no good. About a month ago they "upgraded" our equipment. They swapped out our already large satellite thingy on the roof for an even bigger/taller one (can anyone say Texas wind????) And a new "better" modem. I can tell you its crap. It is 10 times worse, no joke. I could at least do more than 1 thing with the old equipment. Now, 1 at a time only. After 10 years of work in IT for both residential and business customers I have never encountered a support tech shut down every question I had with 'nope' and tell me the solution is to 'send it back' til calling Westex Connect.... that last response in regards to issues configuring a customer's business class firewall to work with Westex's internet service. Unfortunately Westex connect has a monopoly in the area outside of Abilene but their customer, the one unnamed previously mentioned, is wise to the way they do business prior to my experience yesterday. Our mutual customer's opinion matters more than mine to people in the area and they do not have a high opinion of Westex Connect at all. read more
