It used to be easier to find the western sizzler across the US, but this downsized chain has not downsized its buffet. There really is something for everyone. If you're a carnivore, WS has off-buffet steak combos to order,, but fried chicken and sausage are on the buffet. There are cooked vegetables and salads for non-meat eaters. A variety of sugary desserts will satisfy those with a sweet tooth. Even some no sugar added options are included. read more

Western Sizzlin - Fresh veggies on the salad bar. - Steakhouses Near Me - Jasper, Tennessee

This would be a pass on by! This establishment is very old and you can see that. Not very clean at all, food was cold on the hot bar. I thought I would try the salad bar however the majority of the vegetables were brown in color and the mushrooms looked like they had been on the bar for months! Very disgusting and the cost of the buffet is $20.00 so hoping we don't get sick! The only good part of the visit was the ice cream. Do not stop, do not waste your money! read more

The food is ok for a buffet. It's an all you can eat or you can purchase specific entree choices. The servers were friendly and fast keeping up with drink refills and clearing and replacing plates. Lots of seating. It's a large dining room on both sides of the buffets. read more

I was expecting steak on the buffet. This was not the case. You have to order specialty plates in order to get steak.

there is a roach infestation here at this restaurant!! dont go here unless you want to be sick my gf worked here as a server and told me she used to smell the chicken and it would smell rotten and they still would serve it to the customers read more

There was this amazing waitress who served us very kindly and was very understanding her name is karen please give her praise.

The Buffett was absolutely disgusting. I had to go back and order something else. All the employees that we encountered were extremely rude. Overheard the cashier making fun of me after I paid. The only thing that was decent was the steak. I will never return to this restaurant. read more

I've only been here once, for a company Christmas dinner. The experience I had here was awesome though, good food and a great buffet also. I got a steak and they actually cooked it exactly how I ordered it, that's rare and that's what got them my 5 star. Would go back. read more

Haven't been to a Western Sizzlin in forever so why not stop in on Friday night road trip while the weather is bad and the family needs a break. Very easy to get in and find a booth or a table and they even got my little picky eater to finish off a fried pork chop! Sweet tea was great and the friendly service was welcome so I made sure to leave them a nicer than usual tip being the holiday week and they are working hard while we are on vacation time. Food was plenty and tasted like it wasn't sitting out long at all and the selection was well rounded. read more

Western Sizzlin locations are getting hard to find these days (at least in my travels). WS was the go to steak house in our small town growing up and still holds true for a few small towns throughout the south. Like when I was a kid you can still get meals to order or eat at the buffet bar. You can also order a meal and add the bar for an extra price. I personally prefer to order my steak and baked potato the way I want it then add the bar for my salad, potato fixings and desert. It's a lot more expensive to do it that way these days but I do prefer the fresh steak over whatever fried chicken or other limited meats on the buffet. They have spaghetti and pizza as well but why go to a steak house for those things I would prefer to go to somewhere that specializes in Italian cooking. To me the highlight of the bar is the deserts, rolls and salad. My steak was good and cooked as ordered which isn't always the case in chain steak house restaurants and the service was good except for the order taker being slightly rude after we waited awhile for someone to show up to take our order. My only other criticism is the building was very aged and the bar itself is a bit pricey for the choice of meats. I definitely paid a hefty penny for adding the bar to my meal but I was happy with what I got from there. Thanks for a great steak and delicious salad and dessert!! read more

Good service, good food, clean and the people were very friendly. I'd highly recommend it.

We were traveling, the rain was coming down very hard. We decided to pull off the Hwy and thought it would be a good idea to give the storm a chance to pass and have dinner. This will be our first & last visit to a Western Sizzlin Restaurant. The Restaurant was packed and very busy. First impression the food must be good here. After looking at the Buffet the Food was nothing to get excited about. Some items were dry, looked like they had been not rotated for a few hours. Skin on Soups, Gravy, Sauce's and Melted Cheese. We figured it must be the only Restaurant in the area. We had some Salad & Fried Chicken because it looked the best of anything else. We were looking around observing and started to get the impression we're not in a good restaurant. Feeling like we are eating in a restaurant we shouldn't be. However they certainly were very busy, and we did take notice of a friendly and accommodating staff. I visited The Men's Restroom, what I saw was beyond disgusting. The Company headquarters must not do compliance checks and there must be no Health Department in this area of Tennessee. Black Mold on ceiling tiles!! As you can see in the photos the condition of the restroom wasn't just a few missed cleanings. This has taken an extreme amount of disregard to get this bad. I wish I had visited the restroom immediately after we entered the restaurant. I showed my wife the photos I just had taken in the Men's Restroom. With that decision made, we paid our bill and left. I'm very sorry we stopped at this restaurant. What I experienced in the restroom is most likely the tip of the iceberg of other potential public health issues. read more

The stories in this place match the ambiance. If you are hungry you can eat a lot since they have so much to choose from. I ate a good amount but threw up later. Not sure if it was because of amount of quality. Would I eat here again? Most likely not. Would I recommend this to people? Eh I guess? It was better than nothing. read more

This place was horrible. We had just arrived in town and thought this place sounded good. When you walk in you realize it is a buffet style salad bar and you order your food at the counter. The picture showed a steak with a baked potato and a large slice of Texas toast. When the meal came out there was no Texas toast. The steak was nothing but gristle on the outside. The flavor was very good though once you got past the gristle. The dessert bar was so gross it was laughable. We did not take any. The place looked dirty and worn. The only good part was our server was attentive. When we went up to pay I asked the cashier why we didn't get the Texas toast and she said they no longer did that because they bring bread to your table. I felt like the pictures were very misleading and they should've probably asked at the counter if we wanted the Texas toast read more

This place is terrible! The food was terrible, the restrooms were filthy and it's expensive for what they serve. Zero stars should be an option! read more

So glad that we tried Western Sizzlin'! We went to the Jasper location and were happily surprised at how good and FRESH everything was. Employees were all helpful and friendly. Restaurant was clean. The amount of salad, entree and dessert tables gave a huge variety of food. And again, fresh and no trays were anywhere near empty. Employees were constantly replenishing food. We will definitely be returning! read more

Local to this restaurant. They are just going threw the motions. Nothing is overseen. Yeast rolls are either stale or over cooked. They put fresh food on top of food that should have been removed. Staff stands around in groups and could care less. If you are environmental conscious, the do not use paper, styrofoam everything. Clean but very dated. read more

This food is fucking horrible. I don't know how anybody even stops in here. This is the second time I tried this place both times epic failure fish taste shit. Fried chicken well if you don't like flavor, I guess it's for you shrimp yeah no but on plus side mashed potatoes with pretty damn good at least you got that going for you when you think someone cannot fuck up green beans yeah this place gets the can't do shit right gold medal looks old mushy and nasty. The tilapia just taste freezer burnt with some flavor on top of it. Yeah good try still taste like shit when you think of everything in this whole damn restaurant would be at least edible would be the dessert. I should've took a picture. It looks like someone took heavy shit inside of the ice cream holder due to how brown and nasty it looked so yeah, no I pass on that one banana pudding, maybe you could do better there. Let's try that. yeah no just taste like some generic out of the can bullshit cinnamon rolls yeah cinnamon hard ass rolls but the coconut cream pie was actually pretty decent because they don't cook it their self so whoever manufactured that one kudos to you not to mention how nasty and grimy it looks yeah I should've went to huddle house. At least I know what I'm getting there not no $20 overprice slop save your time and money and your stomach and don't ever come here if you do you're fucking weird you have no taste buds or a very strong stomach my opinion to this place fire everybody in that fucking building and gets a new people in there that actually gives a fuck about what they do read more

This place used to be one of the best places to eat in the area. The salad bar used to be crisp and fresh. I think the pandemic has had quite an affect on us all. Especially those in the service industry. The food was ok. I paid 24$ for a mediocre steak and a decent salad. Very disappointed in the new price point and structure. It just doesn't seem like a good value anymore. I'll probably try this one again in a few months. read more

When they were open before Covid their food looked like it had been sitting out all day and looked totally unappetizing. There salad bar was the only thing that looked fresh. read more

Awful. Two stars ONLY bc the employees are very nice and professional. First off the place needs deep cleaning. Let's focus on food. Got the allucaneat ribs. Couldn't finish my first bit. Oven roasted with NO seasoning and maybe two small strips off bbq sauce down the rack put on at the beginning. The waitress (she was a treat) even offered to pack us a rack to-go! I had to explain that I never wanted to eat these ribs again. Wouldn't consider serving them in a prison. They were ribs I would expect to eat in Ohio, trash. read more

Great food! The buffet had a gazillion items on it, and all of the selections I tried, (which were many), were delicious. Good, old-fashioned, home cooking! The people here are extremely friendly as well. There was a very minor communication gap, (my Iowa accent vs their Eastern TN accent), but we got through it! LOL read more

So tonights review of this restaurant is good. They have updated alot of things since i was here previously. This is where my mom chose to have her birthday dinner. This place reminds me of Quincy's in the 80s-90s. Throw back moderately priced steakhouse/ buffet. Complete with the yeast rolls. The service was very good. The bar areas were clean well maintained and well stocked. The salad bar was awesome! It had a million toppings I tried to add the vast majority of them to my salad. I went heavy on the salad and sampled a few of the buffet items. The Pinto, Northern and Green beans were good. The chicken was pretty good, but the livers were better. Giant buffet area. I couldn't begin to tell you how many items were available. From salads, soups, potatoes, meats, Mexican, pasta... I mean the list could just keep going. The food is more of a quantity vs quality type situation, but that's what this place is. Mass quantity of fill you up food. The price was around $12 bucks. Not the most inexpensive option for food, but it is an AYCE vs meat and 3. I'd go back for another crack at that salad bar. I know I can get a few more items on my salad if I really try. The super friendly service from the staff pushed me to a 4 coupled with the nostalgia. I think the way this place is ran, maintained and the staff are what make it one of the few remaining I'm aware of. read more
