The food is ok for a buffet. It's an all you can eat or you can purchase specific entree choices. The servers were friendly and fast keeping up with drink refills and clearing and replacing plates. Lots of seating. It's a large dining room on both sides of the buffets. read more

Western Sizzlin locations are getting hard to find these days (at least in my travels). WS was the go to steak house in our small town growing up and still holds true for a few small towns throughout the south. Like when I was a kid you can still get meals to order or eat at the buffet bar. You can also order a meal and add the bar for an extra price. I personally prefer to order my steak and baked potato the way I want it then add the bar for my salad, potato fixings and desert. It's a lot more expensive to do it that way these days but I do prefer the fresh steak over whatever fried chicken or other limited meats on the buffet. They have spaghetti and pizza as well but why go to a steak house for those things I would prefer to go to somewhere that specializes in Italian cooking. To me the highlight of the bar is the deserts, rolls and salad. My steak was good and cooked as ordered which isn't always the case in chain steak house restaurants and the service was good except for the order taker being slightly rude after we waited awhile for someone to show up to take our order. My only other criticism is the building was very aged and the bar itself is a bit pricey for the choice of meats. We were traveling, the rain was coming down very hard. We decided to pull off the Hwy and thought it would be a good idea to give the storm a chance to pass and have dinner. This will be our first & last visit to a Western Sizzlin Restaurant. The Restaurant was packed and very busy. First impression the food must be good here. After looking at the Buffet the Food was nothing to get excited about. Some items were dry, looked like they had been not rotated for a few hours. Skin on Soups, Gravy, Sauce's and Melted Cheese. We figured it must be the only Restaurant in the area. We had some Salad & Fried Chicken because it looked the best of anything else. We were looking around observing and started to get the impression we're not in a good restaurant. Feeling like we are eating in a restaurant we shouldn't be. However they certainly were very busy, and we did take notice of a friendly and accommodating staff. I visited The Men's Restroom, what I saw was beyond disgusting. The Company headquarters must not do compliance checks and there must be no Health Department in this area of Tennessee. Black Mold on ceiling tiles!! As you can see in the photos the condition of the restroom wasn't just a few missed cleanings. This has taken an extreme amount of disregard to get this bad. I wish I had visited the restroom immediately after we entered the restaurant. I showed my wife the photos I just had taken in the Men's Restroom. With that decision made, we paid our bill and left. I'm very sorry we stopped at this restaurant. What I experienced in the restroom is most likely the tip of the iceberg of other potential public health issues. read more

The stories in this place match the ambiance. If you are hungry you can eat a lot since they have so much to choose from. I ate a good amount but threw up later. This place was horrible. We had just arrived in town and thought this place sounded good. When you walk in you realize it is a buffet style salad bar and you order your food at the counter. The picture showed a steak with a baked potato and a large slice of Texas toast. When the meal came out there was no Texas toast. The steak was nothing but gristle on the outside. The flavor was very good though once you got past the gristle. The dessert bar was so gross it was laughable. We did not take any. The place looked dirty and worn. The only good part was our server was attentive. When we went up to pay I asked the cashier why we didn't get the Texas toast and she said they no longer did that because they bring bread to your table. I felt like the pictures were very misleading and they should've probably asked at the counter if we wanted the Texas toast read more

I came to work on time dressed ready to work got out of training 3 days so mon was my first night on the floor I had so many compliments that the cashier had to come.find out who I was j was off Tues n Wed worked Thurs n Fri again no issues I stayed in top of my tables prebus refills I never got off the floor for any reason except 5 sec bathroom break every now m then I did my sidework did what they ask every time made 200 mon Thurs n Fri made more than all servers did anyways so tonight got called in office the Manger on duty said a secret shopper came in last night said I was giving them a sad story of how I can pay my bills my kids teething ect she was very vague bout her details didn't give a description of this said person didn't show any paper work on this said shopper my gut told me instantly she was lieing so I said respectfully this is bogus there was no shopper I don't recall giving anyone a sad story yes I conversate but not anything personal and I can tell of they wanna conversation or not and then she says tonight this lady paid w a gift card and couldn't leave a bigger tip and she was frantic bout it ummmm I ask her how was that my fault she couldn't answer Me. None of thus made any sense to me. Haven't been to a Western Sizzlin in forever so why not stop in on Friday night road trip while the weather is bad and the family needs a break. Very easy to get in and find a booth or a table and they even got my little picky eater to finish off a fried pork chop! Sweet tea was great and the friendly service was welcome so I made sure to leave them a nicer than usual tip being the holiday week and they are working hard while we are on vacation time. This place used to be one of the best places to eat in the area. The salad bar used to be crisp and fresh. I think the pandemic has had quite an affect on us all. Especially those in the service industry. The food was ok. I paid 24$ for a mediocre steak and a decent salad. Very disappointed in the new price point and structure. This place reminds me of Quincy's in the 80s-90s. Throw back moderately priced steakhouse/ buffet. Complete with the yeast rolls. The service was very good. The bar areas were clean well maintained and well stocked. The salad bar was awesome! It had a million toppings I tried to add the vast majority of them to my salad. I went heavy on the salad and sampled a few of the buffet items. The Pinto, Northern and Green beans were good. The chicken was pretty good, but the livers were better. Giant buffet area. I couldn't begin to tell you how many items were available. From salads, soups, potatoes, meats, Mexican, pasta... I mean the list could just keep going. The food is more of a quantity vs quality type situation, but that's what this place is. Mass quantity of fill you up food. The price was around $12 bucks. Not the most inexpensive option for food, but it is an AYCE vs meat and 3. I'd go back for another crack at that salad bar. I know I can get a few more items on my salad if I really try. The super friendly service from the staff pushed me to a 4 coupled with the nostalgia. I think the way this place is ran, maintained and the staff are what make it one of the few remaining I'm aware of. read more

We just stopped in here to eat at this Western Sizzlin Steakhouse. My dad's wife recently had a weight loss surgery and was given a medical card because she can't eat a full meal. At the most she can eat two bites. The medical card allows the patient to purchase a meal off the child's menu or purchase a child's buffet. The young lady at the front was very rude to her and told her they can't accept her medical card. She rudely told her she would give her a box and she could weigh what she wanted to eat. She didn't want to sit at the table and eat out of a box and look like an outcast. Nor did she want to put food in a box that she wouldn't eat. At the dinner table, she took a bite of my dad's chicken and was full because that is all her stomach would hold. The waitress then brought a new ticket to my dad and added a full buffet to my dad's ticket just because she took one bite of chicken. We asked for a manager. The manager came and was very rude with us and told her that she was given the option to pay for the full buffet or eat out of a box, and he says they don't honor medical cards. She was treated horribly and rudely and was loudly embarrassed in front of other people. They would have made more money from letting her buy the child's buffet than weighing a bite of chicken. I hope the $15 for the buffet that she didn't eat was worth it to them to charge my dad for. The service and the food was terrible. I hope this place shuts down or gets new management that will honor medical cards. That was the most expensive bite of chicken that she had and to top it all off the chicken was not good at all. This is not a Western Sizzlin. This is an awesome place where they must hold grandmas and old fifty's lunch ladies in the kitchen because everything was homemade in huge cast iron pots.
