It took like 10-15 minutes JUST for our paperwork to load!!! The staff member started helping us, but didn't explain that she was waiting for the computer to load and took a call on hold and started helping that person!? We were left wondering why on earth she started helping a phone call while she had just started helping us! I can see that she might have been trying to multitask, but she should have explained that the computer system was slow first! Worst of all, they gave us our reserved vehicle literally on EMPTY!!! I have never experienced this before at a U-Haul! That seems super sketchy and that is horrible service. Don't recommend.

Their rates and delivery are reasonable. This is very much a "mom and pop" operation: they have a white board with folks renting different equipment. They have an honor system for holding equipment, I called the week before I needed equipment and they didn't even require a credit card from me to hold the rental. They rent all sorts of equipment and looks like they also have U-Haul rental as well. Great customer service, would recommend if you need tools for your next project! I noticed lots of folks renting that are "seasoned professionals" but also some newbs that hardly have a clue like me. I am so grateful the staff talked me through how to properly use the equipment. Thanks to Grover tool, my husband and I were able to save 65% of what we were quoted to do a project. Everyone we have interacted with: Esther, Ken, John, Romero, etc etc have been super knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend this family business!

When I arrived at the Communications site inside Vandenberg AFB, I expected the Contractor to have…read morecompleted the job already, as it was just a minor antenna change-out. To my dismay, the Contractor haven't even started the job yet, as the Air Base authority didn't allow anyone to climb the tower due to structural issue of the tower. For any antenna work to be done on the tower, the Contractor must use a Man-lift, which is a retractable boom with bucket at the top. The Contractor asked if he could have the job re-scheduled for another day. I told him that he should try calling a heavy equipment rental company in Santa Maria, which is only about 20-miles away from VAFB, if they got a Man-lift available for immediate delivery. The guy at Hertz Equipment Rental said that they got it and it will be there on the site in 45-minutes. Actually, the Man-lift got there in 40-minutes, got the job done and we didn't have to re-schedule it. I really don't know if there's anybody here who needs to rent a Man-lift at all, but if ever you do need one in Santa Barbara County area, Herts Rental is the company to call.

We had a lot of stuff that we weren't ready to part with but didn't have anywhere to put it. We had to get my moms mobile home on the market, so we were basically moving completely out to have repairs and deep cleaning done and staging.. We needed her home on the market ASAP so we had to be quick. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a moving truck to use for free the day of move in. I don't know how we would have managed without it. The storage move in specials were hard to pass up. Although the price was competitive, they were not the cheapest. However, considering you get what you pay for, that's not always a bad thing. I feel my things are safe and secure and I'm not worried about break ins, bugs, mold, or anything really. Every unit has its own alarm. They are very clean and proactive on bugs. And the manager and staff are incredibly polite and genuinely helpful. I've had a few storages in this area. Granted, it's been awhile. But none have come close to this. And if you've had storages around here you know what I mean. And it's not just because we are in a dust bowl. You can't go wrong here. So it's not the cheapest. ***Except when you factor in the specials and the moving truck and safety and peace of mind.. *** It is the best value. For sure.

Terrible Experience - Rats, Dust, and Disrespectful Staff…read more This place is a disaster. My storage unit had rats, thick layers of dust, and absolutely no help from management. When I brought up the rat problem, all they said was "if anything is damaged, you can file an insurance claim"--AFTER the fact. No offer to help prevent further damage or even check the unit. Same with the dust--no concern, no solution, just indifference. The assistant manager is incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Every interaction feels like a confrontation, not customer service. I eventually spoke with the local lead manager, hoping to resolve things, and got absolutely nothing--no support, no apology, no effort to make it right. What makes this worse is that white tenants have told me they complained about the same problems and were given months of free rent, lowered payments, and a big apology. But me, a Mexican customer, got nothing but cold shoulders and excuses. It's clear there's favoritism--or worse. I've stayed quiet for a long time, but enough is enough. I'm taking my business elsewhere. If you value your belongings and expect to be treated with respect, look elsewhere.
