Good experience getting propane here! I did stop by during my lunch break from work only to find them closed for lunch. So that was kinda unfortunate. But I went back after work at 4:40pm and the technician immediately appeared and greeted me courteously. In the office, the girl was also nice and courteous. $20 bucks to fill an empty standard propane tank for my BBQ gas grill. They accept credit cards or cash. Really unhappy with western right now. They came yesterday and filled our tank BUT SHUT IT OFF! without telling anyone. After trying to figure whyyy none of our essential things were working I went out to the tank to find a note saying they needed to check the pilots but nobody was home so I had to call them. Well let me just let everyone know that we were home, we let our dogs in so they wouldn't bark, my car is in the driveway which is RIGHT NEXT TO THE TANK. He didnt try to knock on the door or anything. So now we have no heater and it's winter my house is currently 55 degrees with 2 small children, I have no hot water to take a shower and no stove to cook any food. Cool western. The Propane bottle guy must not like his job much, what a jerk! I'm typically pretty easy to get along with, this guy made it REALLY hard to be friendly with. When asked by AllTech who would I prefer to supply my propane tank for our whole-house backup generator, it was a no-brainer to say Western Propane. Years ago, we had used WP at our Lemon and avocado groves to power our fans when the temperatures dipped to freezing. They always came through. These guys used to have their act together but now they really suck ass and no there's no better way to put it. For the second time this year, my tank has ended up empty because they didn't come by and top it off like they're supposed to. The last time, they claimed that we had a leak and needed to call a plumber before they'd turn the tank on. The plumbers checked all over and they determined that there was no leak at all. Western Propane returned and were like, "uh, I guess not!" The plumbers cost me $400. This morning I get to go thru this crap again with one of their monkeys. read more

Where I live in Chatsworth Lake Manor - I was literally the first to jump to Western - They were privately owned and prices were SOO good plus I liked the green tanks ..... Sadly, Western Propane was great while it lasted. *sigh* Now they've been bought out by Superior, seems we're back to the same ol' price gauging game. I just got 74 gallons and being charged $316 ... I have NEVER had a bill over $200 ... I have a small 120 gallon tank ... I live near Frazier Park. Western Propane services this area out of Lebec. I discovered a small leak this AM at my tank. I had been stuck with Western's competitor with unsatisfactory results. A couple people mentioned Western, so I called them this AM. Unbelievably, Dave Cortez came out with the parts I needed (regulator) and installed it by 10:30 AM. That's the best service I've about ever had for anything! Moreover, they are going to come out, empty the tank to replace the defective valve, then refill the tank with my Propane. I needed to get the tanks from my RV re-certified and filled. I just drove over without calling. The personnel at Western Propane were really friendly and it only costs $10.00 per tank to be certified. They even helped me loading the tanks in my pickup. These guys could not be more helpful, and they offered us the cheapest propane out of all the local suppliers. We moved into a new house and ran out of gas before setting up a contract with a supplier. Western came out the same day we called them for a quote and were able to swap out and refill our tank immediately. Plus, everyone we spoke to at the company was really helpful, polite and genuinely interested in trying to give us the best service. I'd recommend switching gas companies to Western. read more
