Incompetent in customer service, incompetent in underwriting. Lynette likes to laugh at an antagonize disabled veterans. I was busting my tail to get documents to their unprofessional staff at their timeline, yet they wanted to get out of the office at 4:25 on a Tuesday afternoon rather than looking at the photographs that I have sent multiple times showing proof of installation. I am gladly taking my money elsewhere, and I'm happy to spend more if that means dealing with competent professional staff. Y'all are canceling my renewal because your underwriting staff are too lazy to open an email at 4:25 PM on a Tuesday, and two incompetent to see that I have sent proof multiple times. Not only did I send pictures to multiple accounts, Lynette verified that they were all received. On top to bottom left or right, you are dishonest. I am also blocked on all forms of social media. That goes to show that Western Mutual Insurance Group is not receptive to communication. I expect to be ghosted when I'm dating, not by insurance. My new insurance company is not only saving me money, but they accepted all of the pictures and documents I have submitted, no difference in any of the media that I have sent you. I was in absolute shock when I recently received our homeowners renewal premium notice from Farmers Insurance with whom we'd done business for years. We had never made a claim on our homeowners insurance and our premium was going up 166%. (from $1625.00 to $4321.00) After calling my local office, the agent I spoke with couldn't explain why there was such a jump in our premium. It had more than doubled with no explanation. Calling corporate verified that although we live in the desert and have had no wildfires in our three rural communities in the 37 years we've lived here, because there are trees on our property, we were arbitrarily designated "wildfire" which added $2,000 to our annual premium. We pay a professional landscaper/tree climber $800/mo to look after our property and our extensive drip system costs us $500-800/mo, for water depending on the time of year, so we can keep everything green and healthy. We are homebodies who justify investing in our property rather than traveling for vacations or driving expensive cars or trucks. We spent years doing pet rescues and adoptions and designed our yard to provide a parklike atmosphere for the animals we love. The Farmers representative with whom I spoke at corporate headquarters was unable to tell me exactly WHO made the determination that we were a wildfire hazard since no one visited our home and we received no notification about mitigation they felt was needed to avoid such a significant jump in premium. All insurance agencies are granted increases through the California Insurance Commission and after research, I saw that Farmers asked for 25% and was granted 12.5%. That did not explain our 169% increase. I have made a complaint with the state insurance commission and was forced to look for homeowners insurance elsewhere. After extensive research, I found Western Mutual Insurance and got an online quote. I then followed up talking with Javier Lonvera in Irvine who finalized coverage at a price that Farmers would have been charging had they not tried to make US pay for other people's claims due to drastic damages related to climate change this past year. I'm 75 years old and Western Mutual has been in business since before I was born. They are rated an "A" by A.M. Best and in reading dozens of customer reviews online, I am certain we will be with a reputable company going forward. I did the research and am extremely grateful to have found a company that can replace Farmers and provide us the peace of mind needed when it comes to protection of our home. read more
