Our project is just a middle size kitchen in an 100 years old house, with an odd shape + unleveled ceiling. We went back and forth 6+ times (because we kept changing minds and also want to explore different ways and styles, etc), and Kailin is always patient with prompt responses to provide her valuable suggestions for us to consider. Pretty poor job on installing hinges. Both doors fell of Lazy Susan cabinets within days and hardware installed was crooked and botched. It's not high end stuff on the lower grades so just be prepared to repair items as soon as you get them. The poor assembly compounds it. Overall I would have paid twice the amount for better cabinets - but that was my choice. I just has no idea the assembly was poor and the screws were far too small for the intended purpose. In assembly they swapped the hardware from one side of a lazy Susan to another and it was a bit of a hatchet job. We can fill and cover it up - just poor assembly and probably should have sent it back. It's not outward noticeable. The fix on the Lazy Susan cabinets is to install M8 x 2.5" tapered head machine screws with washers and nuts in place of the tiny wood screws (into the next cabinet wall), IF you butt up against another cabinet. However if it's an open end or up against a wall you will need to install a backer plate and trim - do this before you install the cabinet in that configuration as a preventive measure or you will probably be really dissatisfied. The problem with the original screws is they are too short to go through the hinge place space and bite into the cabinet. Bigger screws won't work and will only make a mess. They have countertops, sinks and such. I would just be mindful that items with articulating doors won't stand up even a few days of use. Overall it should all work fine, the QC, assembly and suitability are just items that have easy remedies. Just be prepared and expect a few problems. Really they should have a refit instruction notice. All that said the staff are nice enough, provide good design drawing services and certainly a lower cost higher volume seller. I'd use them again but would probably have a carpenter do the assembly.

Tl;dr Great price point for relatively good quality solid wood cabinets compared to other places that does mixed-MDF and costs more. My SIL recommended Granite Expo for their price point and quality. They use Milzen brand cabinets and the cabinet builder is just 2 minutes away from their store. My review is on the kitchen cabinets and the purchasing process. I shopped around at other local SF, Oakland, and Hayward cabinet shops and had a rendering made from their Emeryville location before deciding to move forward with buying from Granite Expo Oakland location. I was able to speak to a rep within 10 minutes with my rendering to place my order, we did 15 cabinets in M21 Hollis White cabinets (shaker style) and it was ready to pick up within the same week. On pick up day, we brought our truck and made 2 runs. The warehouse workers helped load in which was so helpful, and handles were included in the price. They have a lot in stock, just need time to build or can sell it to you not built if preferred for pick up. Overall a smooth purchase and the sales associate I worked with was well-versed in helping beginners like me with a consultation, and not too chatty or pressuring to up sell. We visited several cabinet stores and most places only had MDF cabinets, but we wanted solid wood so that it would last longer. However, we didn't need fully custom cabinets. MDF cabinets are much cheaper around $5K for our project, but we ended up spending about $25K on ours, which were made in America. Kevin was able to lay out all the cabinets for us and discussed functionality. We're very happy with our lazy Susan corner cabinets, and having built in trash and microwave cabinets. He also helped us update the design after the demo too. Kevin's design was really helpful and we even used them for submitting our permit. I think a designer would have charged at least $5K, but I had a clear idea of what look and materials I wanted so and I was glad to commit the savings to better materials. 4 stars instead of 5 stars, because I think the management is very inflexible. We received the wrong size trash cans and I had to purchase my own, but did not receive even a $100 credit after spending so much there.
