We have one right here in Glacier Hwy. Alaska Industrial Hardware is the go-to place when we need hardware stuff, power tools and other items that will make our jobs a lot easier. Dad would spend considerable time going through all the displays, always saying "ooh.. I like that..." And they're open on weekends too (where most of our handyman work is done!)

Zero stars! Every time I go into this store, it's an absolute s***-show! They've got row after row…read moreblocked off with crap piled high and there is no way to get a cart through. It's next to impossible to get any kind of service from the employees because none of them know where anything is. They just get on their device to look stuff up on the juneau home depot website. But the website is ALWAYS wrong!! It's never updated correctly!! Example: The site will tell you there is 90 in stock of a particular item in this store, and it will give you a row and bay number, but the item is never where the site says it is!! So you just end up following a staff member as they wander aimlessly around the entire store for over an hour until they finally just give up and tell you "I don't know where it is". And forget asking for a manager because they end up just doing the exact same thing! So they end up wasting 2 hours out of your day and you end up so pissed that you just walk out of the store with nothing. I've been to home depots all over, in many different states and the Juneau Home Depot is BY FAR the absolute worst you will EVER encounter!!! And apparently I'm not alone in my disgust with this business. The reviews go back 9 years, and all but 1 review is 1 star. So they've made absolutely NO IMPROVEMENTS IN 9 YEARS!! Goes to show how little they care about the community they serve or their impression of this store. Home Depot has ONLY responded to the 1 review that gave more than 1 star. They've made no attempts at an apology for all of the rest of the horrible experiences going back 9 years.

Situated under the Juneau Hotel and sharing a parking lot with Fish & Game and the Dept of Labor, this shop is chock full of treasures. Consignments pour in from locals who are well traveled and the shop owners (artists) fill the shelves with beautiful, unique, quirky things. Vintage goods, fine china, lamps, rugs, whale related decor, table linens, gifts for baby, and Alaskan collectibles are just some of the things you'll find. Added bonus: a little shop dog named Beau is almost always there to greet you!

James has been great. I bought a 1991 Cherokee I want to bring back to the lower 48. I'm a mechanic…read moremyself but bringing the tools necessary to Alaska with me to affect repairs was logistically unfeasible. No other shops in town would touch something so old so James to the rescue. He was willing to try old fashioned fixes rather than just throwing parts at the car which I always appreciate. In the end his prices were fairly reasonable considering it's alaska, and he got my jeep back on the road! Only downmarks at all if you can call it that is sometimes communication can be a bit slow. But know I can be an over communicator so I'll share some blame there. Overall would recommend!
