Absolutely spectacular service from the moment I walked in the door!! Left my sole pair of heels in Seattle and had 57 days remaining on my journey around the world. Complicating the situation was my size 13 feet...rarely does a shoe store stock them. I really went in just to say I tried. Lo and behold, TWO PAIR in my size!! Shoefly bills themselves as "A little bit of shoe heaven for women & girls." And they are not fucking around with that. They take this objective very seriously. Shoe heaven was putting it lightly. It was a clean, crisp little boutique, decorated with stylish lady art (you know, pictures of vintage screen queens and whatnot), full of the most delightful collection of shoes. It's possible that I was so impressed because my expectations of Alaska's overall fashion sense were so low. But I don't think so. I think it was really a fantastic shop. They carry major brands (Kenneth Cole, Dansko, Havaianas) as well as some more obscure ones (Sofft, faryl robin), but they have picked the most lovely shoes from each line, and put them all out there like, "don't you wish your shoe rack was hot like me?" We were going to take an Alaskan cruise, and I used Yelp to do some planning. I really took megan w. seriously. It was the right decision. I felt like I was making a pilgrimage in Juneau to Shoefly. Getting to Shoefly was truly a religious experience for me. This store was so good, so right, so fun! I knew they carried brands (I had clicked on the store's website through Yelp) that I buy and wear so I could see that their prices were appropriate, and also had several brands I had not tried. My foot is hard to fit and I have through the years made my family a little crazy trying out shoe stores wherever we go. This store made me so happy. My husband even picked out shoes for me to try on. ( If you knew how he feels about shopping this would tell you how good a store this is. Clue: he HATES shopping!) We had a delightfully cheerful, helpful young woman, Cameron who helped me find shoes that I love. She wasn't pushy, but she was incredibly helpful. Unfortunately I could only buy a couple of pairs due to luggage space. Oh, and yes they also carried shoes for men too. I thought it amusing that the mens shoes were also on sale. No, my husband didn't even look, but I'm thinking he should have. Maybe the owner could think about a store in the L.A. area?? read more

I love, love,love Shoe Fly in Juneau. Although I live in the lower 48, that doesn't stop me from checking it out when I am there. They have everything from trendy heels to super comfy (yet pretty, if you can believe that) rubber boots. After all, in Juneau it rains a lot. Their prices are actually pretty comparable to the lower 48 and I like the fact that they have a wider selection of shoes like Dansko and other ergonomic type shoes. read more

Wow, what a great surprise find in the touristy downtown Juneau. Well curated selection of comfortable, fashionable and unique footwear for women and children. Cordani, Fluevog, naot, uggs & more too plus brands you haven't heard of but very cool. Very friendly service with tips on where to grab dinner nearby. Wish they had a branch on the east coast. Didn't expect to go shoe shopping on our few hours in town, but glad I did. Right near the delicious Rookery too! read more

I love this place. They have a great selection of shoes, flats to heels. They've got some pretty unique stuff - purses, jewelry and of course shoes. The people that work there are incredibly nice. A very cute and well-appointed store with absolutely world class service. We needed an emergency shoe replacement for our child during an Alaskan cruise, and decided to try Shoefly - what a great experience! They immediately took measurements of my child's feet, and almost just as quickly, had at least 3-4 pairs of shoes waiting to be tried on. The hardest part was just choosing the right color and style. This is service we expect back home at Nordstrom or other higher-end establishments, so we were very pleased with our experience. read more

A good place for shoes... duh! Even for guys. I work on cruise ships so it's sometimes difficult to get to places that offer decent selections and sizes when you're on the go in limited runs. To get to any major retailer in port towns can be pricey, but for Juneau this is your better option. It's still within walking distance of the main town and pretty darn good. I got a good pair of shoes for a fair price that I'm still wearing today, no problems. read more

Love, love, love Shoefly. When you are having a crappy day at work, or your kids are driving you over the edge, you can go to Shoefly with your girlfriends and it all seems much more bearable. The staff are enthusiastic, and clearly love their job. The prices are on par with what you would pay at Zappos or Piperlime ( once you include shipping).
