Wrington Motors are completely incompetent…read more My vehicle developed a fault whilst having an MOT at Wrington motors. They called to tell me my vehicle was broken and would need to be kept overnight, they then called me at the end of the next day to say that they had diagnosed the fault and that it was "Faulty internals in the injection pump" and that i would need a new injection pump. I wanted a garage that i trust to take a look as i had a mistrust of their diagnosis so I went to collect the vehicle from them and they wanted to charge me over £30 for 30mins labour for diagnosing the fault that had occurred whilst in their care! (needless to say i refused) Since then i had a different garage have a look at my vehicle, they quickly diagnosed that air was leaking into the fuel lines somewhere. Within 10 minutes my vehicle was running again and the 'fuel filter' was found to be the problem. A replacement fuel filter was fitted and the problem was gone. Wrington motors wanted to quote me for an injection pump which would have cost in the region of £1500 + labour The fuel filter cost £8. Never, ever, under any circumstances take your vehicle to this garage. In my opinion and that of the garage that fixed my vehicle they are completely incompetent for being unable to diagnose such a simple problem. Let me say that again. INCOMPETENT!

One of the most helpful garages I have come across... very friendly and superb advice that didn't…read moreresult in actual business for them on this occasion... looking forward to having my brakes done to repay that advice!!

You know what it's like when you move to a new town. You settle in, learn the best places to eat…read moreand drink, where to go and where to avoid. You've learned the rat-runs in and out for those occasions when the Temporary Traffic-Light Fairy has waved her Wand of Chaos on your route to work, and can quote fuel prices to the decimal point from every filling station in a five-mile radius. Happy in your new environment, you can settle down with the comfortable knowledge that you're becoming one of the locals. You've even given some thought to joining the local PTA and then it happens. Your car won't start, your MOT runs out, or bizarre noises more usually associated with mating polar bears start emanating from the mysterious jumble of pipes and metalwork that apparently has something to do with making your car go, but as far as you're concerned has been put in to support your washer-fluid tank. In desperation, you phone your old garage only to be told that it's not terribly convenient for one of their mechanics to drive 130 miles to listen to the weird grinding sound and isn't there someone local you can ask? Now you come back down to earth with a bump, your dreams of becoming accepted by the local community shattered. How could you ever have fooled yourself into thinking you've found a new home when you don't know who you can trust to fix your car, for crying out loud?! If you're an automotive imcompetent like myself, there are few things more daunting than finding a reliable garage in a new area. Where do you go? All your friends have conflicting opinions and horror stories about garages - from tales of flagrant overcharging to spontaneously-combusting VW Beetles - but none of them are prepared to go out on a limb and actually recommend one. Julie's-husband-Dave takes a quick look on your behalf, sucks breath between his teeth, mutters something incomprehensible about tappets and sidles off to watch the football. Is there anyone left to whom you can turn? Let me tell you now: there is, and it's VMR Autos. Over a frantic decade of moving from place to place like a bewildered pigeon that has lost its homing instinct and consequently nests in a different county every other month, I've seen a lot of garages, good and bad. This is, I promise you, one of the good ones. They charge reasonable prices, do a good job - when they SAY they will - are perfectly prepared to admit what is and isn't within their realms of expertise and have a great network of local specialist contacts for those truly perplexing problems. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them wholeheartedly and you can tell Dave from me that I wasn't fooled for a moment.
