Due to my work lease car contract I now have to take my car to Kwik fit for new tyres. I wasn't overl impressed with my experience yesterday, I was told it would be ready within the hour, I returned 45 minutes later my car exactly where I left it no tyre change. I then waited another 45 minutes for it to be done, I absolutely don't mind waiting if there is good reason but as no one came to speak to me I have know idea if this was the case. I did however leave with a new tyre so I suppose that's a point to Kwik Fit!

Upon closer inspection I could see my exhaust was hanging down and something had broken on it. I took it into Kwik Fit on Fishponds Road the next day. I'm always slightly worried going into a garage because being a young female I always think I am going to get ripped off or mocked for not knowing much about my vehicle. I was really pleased when they agreed to see my car straight away. I waited in their small reception area whilst they hoisted my car up on the ramp. They knew the problem straight away and gave me a quote on the spot. They were polite and efficient but I still got quotes elsewhere. It turns out they were the cheapest so I phoned to book my car in, which they conveniently said they could do on the following morning. Even more conveniently for me they said if I wanted to drop it there in the evening before the work was due they'd do it 8.30 the next morning, which I did. 8.30 the next morning I had a call to say it was ready for collection already! Since then I've also been in for a tyre change. I called in as soon as it went flat and within 10 minutes I was back on the road! I couldn't be more satisfied with the service at Kwik Fit on Fishponds Road.

Had to take the car elsewhere to fix the original problem AND to obtain proof (demanded by the fool manager) that the job had been done incorrectly. We did. He was not a happy little man. AVOID After two of…read moreour friends recommended this garage last year after they had some work done, saying it was fantastic. We were deeply disappointed at the service we have received. This seems to be a common problem after reading others reviews. Clearly in the last year things have changed for the worse. I booked my car in for a MOT and Service but due to the level of work required for the MOT and an additional fault, I just had the MOT and the other fault fixed and was planning to return my car for a service next month. On arrival at the garage no one spoke to me or offered to help for at least 5 minutes, there were no other customers and I was visible for the workers to see but yet no one approached me and reception was locked. Eventually I was spoken to and left my car with them. There was communication throughout the day but due to being at work, I had to get my partner to call up at one point. She found the gentleman she spoke to extremely rude and aggressive on the phone and he refused to give a rough time for when the car would be ready. We picked up the car and clarified a few points but everything seemed difficult, they do not like customers clarifying points. It all seemed hard work. One day later I noticed a fault with my car that was not there before I took the car in, so I rang the garage straight away. I was told it was a ' coincidence', not for one second was this a coincidence. I explained to the person I was speaking to my views and he said he would happily take a look, book the work in and charge me for it. This was a bit suspicious, almost like he knew what the fault was. The phone line was then put down and another gentleman picked it up, the same rude/aggressive male my partner had spoke to. He was not interested, didn't care. Refused to accept responsibility for the fault and said he didn't care that I would take the matter further. I was amazed at this man's attitude. Totally disgusting. At no point were we rude, we were polite and calm we paid our bill in full without fault. I did not expect or deserve such treatment. After reading these reviews after taking my car in, I only wish that I had read them before as I wouldn't have bothered taking my car to them. I have noted all the return comments from the company, I find it strange that they blame the customer every time. More than one customer has complained about the same rude and aggressive manner they conduct their business. Surely not all these customers are wrong. I will be seeking advice in how to take the matter further and emailing trading standards..

I always imagined e-tyres.co.uk were the cheapest source for new tyres. However, upon being…read morerecommended this place I have discovered further competitive prices. It's not the easiest place to get to, located at the top of a slope and on the peak of a tight 'boomerang' crescent. Due to limited space inside the depot it is also difficult to reverse from, though someone is at hand to guide you out. I wanted a 195/65/R15/H profile and the cheapest tyre was £38, which was temporarily out of stock. The next one up was £44.62 (VAT, balancing and valve inc.), though this was still cheaper than e-tyres. The mechanic examined my tyre and identified the reason it was losing air was because of bubbles that had formed on the inner lining of the alloy. He helpfully smoothed down the alloy at no extra charge. You don't feel like you're being 'had', which is important to me from any service where my mechanical nous is limited. The mechanic suggested I have another tyre changed, and pointed out the metal spikes that had begun to show from the worn rubber as the reason. Upon seeing the condition of that same tyre, one of the other guys bluntly told me that if he were a judge he'd take my licence away! That kind of stoney-faced statement can be mistaken for rudeness amongst more sensitive souls, but I personally appreciated his honesty. If you're after a quick, efficient service and cheap, good-value tyres then this is the place to come.

So, back to Cabot Tyres I went. Opted for a mid-range tyre that was a very competitive price, even compared to online. Great service, as always, and it would be the first place I recommend to others. Only downside was making a fool of myself trying to reverse out of the building!

Again, utterly brilliant!…read more Having traded in my seasoned banger for a car that I like less, but that is more shiny, runs smoother and smells better, (what can I say (?) I'm a gal whose crippled by nostalgia!)... I haven't needed to visit Venture Tyres for a while. However, at my latest Suzuki service, at Roadworthy in Bristol, they performed an incredibly thorough check and found a nail in one of my tyres... they even took pictures of it! Venture Tyres, situated on one of the main roads that goes through the industrial estate, is an easy spin from Roadworthy, which occupies a roomy slot on Fishponds Road. So, it was a no-brainer as to where I was going to go next. The route between the two means that I didn't even have to glance the city centre traffic, which is usually pretty hideous at any given time of the day. Greeted on the forecourt the formality of visiting the reception was dispensed with. In fact, my car was on a jack within three minutes of arriving! And it's not that they aren't busy... they are just so seamlessly and effortlessly efficient! I've never seen anything like it...! (But, I think I've finally figured it out... it's because they're so darned happy! Even on a miserable wet and windy day their feet don't drag and there's smiles all round.) Within five minutes the nail had been removed and the wheel had been knocked back into shape. (During the floods I hit some submerged debris and had a blow out. Drenched and miserable I crawled to the nearest tyre place where I was met with gloomy nonchalance. After removing the wheel I was told that it was misshapen, and then steely eyes slid over my face trying to ascertain if a few more quid could be squeezed out of my empty purse... the eyes acknowledged that it was unlikely... The tyre was eventually replaced and managed to stay firm despite the fact that the wheel remained heavily dented. I then paid a premium for shoddy workmanship and went home miserable. Shocking!) The chap at Venture did the work that they other garage weren't willing to do without additional payment, and he managed to remove the nail without damaging the tyre any further. This meant that no repair or replacement was necessary. All of this was done in a fraction of the time that I spent at the previous tyre place... and guess what they charged me...? NOTHING!!!!! That's right, I didn't pay a penny! I cannot tell you how happy (and relieved) I felt! But, instead of going home miserable, I immediately came home and switched on my computer and wrote this review. See the difference!? I say I didn't pay a penny, and it's true... but actually, I did 'spend' one... after the fix I paid the brand new state of the art loo a visit in the lovely new reception area, and lovely it was too... and still no charge! It's perhaps worth mentioning that, despite the name, Venture Tyres is not just a tyre shop... they are a proper garage and MOT centre. I've had a few MOT's done here. And no surprises really... they are a good deal cheaper than anywhere else in their class and the process has always been as easy as a walk in the park. Yep, Venture Tyres make my world a better place! BTW, Suzuki has no need to sweat it... my old car was a Suzuki as is my new one! (I'm just not very good at letting go!)
