I think I can totally say that the guys at PG Autos fit this bill exactly! I discovered them a year or two ago when I needed a new clutch for my Ford Ka , and as it was such a straightforward problem I thought I would ring round to get a few quotes, and I was totally surprised at the results. I got such a range of answers, mainly from £280-£400, from garages all offering exactly the same service! That is except PG Autos who offered to do the job for £180, a total bargain. Since then my whole family go to PG Autos for our MOT's and anything else that needs fixing and they always go out of their way to get you the best deal. It is great to have a mechanic you can trust!

The sad fact about these people is that they are liars and are carrying out fraudulent MOT tests that result in ordinary people shelling out £100's for unnecessary work. This kind of expense and stress is compounded by not having a car for days at a time while you either let them carry out the wasteful 'repairs' or take the car elsewhere as I did. Either way, they are there to rip you off. I had an experience and reliable welder swear blind he'd never known anything like it when F1 rejected' some fairly basic under body work this week. At a cost of £280 to me! I've yet to have the car passed after two trips to F1 but will do so at a local garage away from their bully boy tactics where 'knowledge' (mostly ingenguine) is power. My experience of them has not been uniformly perfect - but on the rare occasion when they make a mistake, they admit it, fix it, and don't repeat it. They have done an excellent job of fixing problems with my cars over the years without inflating the cost artificially; they usually pick the right solution first time but - and this is an absolute winner - their first choice is not to go for the most expensive thing possible. And when there is an expensive fix needed, they find the best way of doing it that isn't just throwing money at it. I've come to trust them completely with my car repairs and they do not let me down.
