First there is the name which give you a hint of the vibe, an old school reimagined as a boutique hotel. The school themed decor follows through from the minute you walk in the door to your room. The designers thoughtfully left many elements of the school and incorporated them perfectly. The rooms are spacious and well thought out too. Beds are comfortable bathrooms are well lit (hard to find in hotels) and every space is exceptionally clean. I stayed on a Monday so the restaurant was not open but no worries there are a number of good restaurant choices within a 2 block walk. The only issue is a minor one that wouldn't matter if you don't work out when traveling. The workout room only has one elliptical machine, 2 treadmills and a few weights. The elliptical was a brand I was not familiar with and I wasn't able to get it going to use. The space is small but large enough to add a bike or another elliptical. I would love to find more hotels like this when traveling for work, it would make it more fun. I would definately stay here if I come through again. I can see where this would be a fun place to host an event.

A fantastic little getaway in the camper that's not too far from home no matter where in the St. Louis area you live. Affordable camping with two very clean shower houses, fishing, archery ranges, two pavilions and a clubhouse to rent for occasions. Playgrounds for the kids and grandkids, affordable camper storage for members, and a nice walking trail with a mysterious hidden spring in the woods. We bring our kayaks down sometimes and paddle around the big lake. It's a really nice club to be a part of.

Because we couldn't get away for any length of time, I was looking for a unique place where I could surprise my husband with a mini-vacation for our 13th anniversary. Gothic Heights Inn was beyond perfect. Once we entered the building, it felt as if we had been transported to a remote location outside of our own city. The shared spaces are indescribably beautiful and peaceful with a full kitchen, secluded sitting areas, and even a piano. The original woodwork has been preserved throughout the bed and breakfast, and the impact is stunning. We stayed in the Riverfront Suite, which was perfectly decorated and felt like an oasis of privacy. And even though the temperature was below freezing, we completely enjoyed the rooftop hot tub and the gorgeous view of the city after dark. Needless to say, my husband was completely surprised that such a special place was hidden so close to us, and also needless to say, we are already talking about our next staycation escape to this little paradise.

I was shocked to hear that we get refunded the remainder of the month if we don't finish it out. That's uncommon and a great touch! The RV park is located close to a bad area (east St. Louis) however i felt safe my entire stay and i was in the front spot right in front of Sawmill BBQ. Sure you hear ambulances throughout the day.. sure you hear road noise... sure.. but isn't that expected knowing that it is located on a busy road? Again, i stayed in the front spot so i had front row to the noise and none of that bothered me. Some people find reasons to complain on reviews about little stuff like that. It's really not that big of a deal lol. If you're picky about stuff like that then this park is not for you and you will just miss out on the opportunity to stay at a great park. Lots of travel nurses stayed here from my understanding as well. Washers ran about $2-2.50 depending on load and same for dryers. Not bad! Also don't forget your Sawmill BBQ discount for staying at this park!

I called around and the weekly rates for motels here ran between 150-170. I thought the name of this place was too cute. So I picked it. I wish I hadn't picked it. Let me tell you. On the edge of the tub was an inch of crust. There were plants of some kind in the bed. Ants crawling everywhere. The phone books have an inch of dust on them. Then I became violently ill and had diarrhea and fever for three days. I am sure the room is toxic. I asked the obese maid to clean the bathroom, but then felt bad because she was obviously too physically disabled to do so. She left the crust on the tub and only cleaned the shit off the toilet bowl. They haven't offered me clean towels once. They haven't offered to take out the trash. I took it out this morning on my own.
