I was and am still delighted with the work Zvara did on my floors almost two years ago (yes, this…read morereview is well over due!). I bought a home with beautiful hardwoods in most of the house, but with about 500 sq ft of carpet in the back two rooms (from a carport conversion). When Peter came to my house, he was the only 1 of 4 floor specialist that knew my floor was red and white short board mixed oak (he was even able to give me a little history lesson on why the flooring was so popular in the midcentury). Peter was incredibly knowledgable and friendly. He also gave me options for my staircase but was not pushy at all. When the work began, his son came to my house with a crew of about 2-3, all of whom where incredibly clean and respectful. They ripped up all the carpet and had the flooring completely laid in 1 day!!! The second day they came back and did the finishing touches (top coat and put baseboards back on). I was able to walk on my floor by 6:00 pm and move the furniture back within 24 hours. While not the cheapest option, their bid was competitive with the others who told me I only had only short white oak boards. In addition, the other contractors also wanted to lay a subfloor which was not necessary. I felt the extra $ was totally worth the knowledge Peter brought and the confidence he would match my floors as closely as possible. My floors turned out perfect! My additional space no longer looks like an addon and my guest cannot believe the flooring in not orginal to the house. I cannot say enough good things or recommend Zvara enough! Thank you.

Our lovely cat, Harley, has been the reason for us re-flooring literally 4 rooms and 2 stair cases with hard woods from the original carpet. Damn cat! Mike and his crew are in the door on time and within 5 minutes they're working at a furious pace. They're professional, always happy, and work their asses off. In June of last year (2013) we decided to completely redo our floors to a darker stain and have our floors sanded and refinished after living in our home for 12.5 years. There was never a question in our mind who we would use. We didn't even get a second bid because we got other bids before and they couldn't come close to his pricing. They did a phenomenal job and we trust Mike so much that we did all this while on vacation out of the US and left him with our keys. Here's a stroy to tell you what a great businessman and human Mike is. We brought in painters to do a large job for us. The painters swore they were licensed and bonded. They came in and refinished our cabinets and painted countless walls. And, on top of all of that, they managed to unplug our refrigerator for 5 days...with all the food and ice still in it. Destroyed our floors, 6 months after we just had them redone. Turned out that they weren't licensed or bonded and we ended up dealing with huge ramifications. Mike came back out and had to do the whole job over and, knowing that ultimately we were going to be eating some costs because the amount still due to the painters (which we weren't going to pay them) didn't cover our loses. He did the second job on a discount and did a great job. We had an issue with one room not completely matching (not Mike's fault) because of sun bleaching and our decision to not redo that room again but Mike found a way to make it all work. 6 jobs later with Mike and countless referrals his way and I can tell you that he is the best with the best prices. I will take the time out of any day to talk with you to tell you of my experience if you'd like. We met Mike through a referral. He's not a personal friend of ours, etc. This is just one happy customer telling you that Mike is your guy. As for Darth's comment and giving him a one star, all I can say is that I agree with punctuality but that everyone has their days and the reality is that in 2011 the economy was still a little bad and the reason that he was likely late is that this guy is really busy doing great work. Give him a second chance.

Not only was Daniel reliable and timely with his responses, but he was so incredibly easy to work with. I was a little unsure on whether to do all wood vs. wood tread with white risers. Per Daniel's suggestion, I went with the wood tread with white risers. It was the less expensive option, and it looks REALLY good! Had he not presented that option, I may have spent more and been less content with the outcome. Jacek's customer service stood out from the start. He invited us to his hardwood provider out in Woodenville to go over options and talk specifics. Also, all the while being very flexible in terms of timing and schedules. Speaking of timing, we had a very tight schedule, I won't go into specifics but I'll share that we essentially had a 3-4 week window and Jacek was able to make it work in very short notice. Finally, in further demonstration of his phenomenal customer service, when it came to picking the finish for our floor, he met us late evening/early Friday night after work. He then had his team come in on the weekend to get a jump start so that they were finished by mid-week, a week before our deadline. In the end, we are very happy with the quality of service. The floors look absolutely amazing and they left very little trace (aside from the new beautiful hardwood) of ever being here; Almost no dust and the baseboards only require the expected minimal paint to cover where they were nailed back in.
