My favorite part is the wide grass area which has held countless pick up football, soccer, wiffle ball, and any other field game. The basketball court is well kept and is a fun spot to practice skating when not in use for basketball. The playground has two nice sections, one designed for younger kids and another larger section with more advanced play equipment. They also have some of the better swings around.

We generally walk the outer edges of the shade in order to avoid the sun and the heat. The park is clean, including the restrooms. The times we have been here there were no encampments of those down on their luck. The outer perimeter of this park is somewhere like 1200 steps if you are counting. With the mature trees present, about 70% of this walking is in the shade if you go in the morning.

There are public restrooms, though I did notice that there were also port-a-potties out front - not sure what was up with that. There is a large covered area with long picnic tables and adjacent barbecue grills perfect for large groups to picnic. There is also a full sized tennis court, a full sized basketball court, and two basketball half courts. There were people practicing or playing on two of the baseball diamonds and on the tennis courts and random people picnicking with families the day of our visit. There is plenty of grass for kids or dogs to play on (please clean up after both groups) and picnic tables scattered randomly about the park. Even though it is a small park, there is a basketball court complete with nets, a volleyball court with a net, a large grassy field, and a large play structure for the kids with a layer of bark below to break falls. The addition of the overhead shade coverage is a game changer on those hot summer days. Ideally located on the bike path; other highlights include a nice half-court basketball court and a large grass area my friends and I were known to play football on in our youth. The only downside is there are not public restrooms at the park, so make sure all the kiddos take care of business before heading out for a fun day.
