Please everyone beware of Westcraft Homes and the bait and switch unethical practices that is going on not only with the agent Karen but the company itself. I had the same experience as Mr. Bridges in the below review. Only worse! My family is local in Kalispell which makes this experience even more upsetting. I along with a outside real agent contacted Karen regarding any home in Sliverbrook. Agreed she will never call you back. The unprofessional unethical sales tactics that she uses should and will be reported to the real estate board as well as a Hud complaint. She didn't want to sell me any home due to it being a veteran loan or that I didn't have 250k to put down on the lot that I wanted. The Veterans Administration have strict rules and regulations that this company doesn't meet. After no call back to my outside real agent or me. My poor mom who has a brain tumor went over to Karen and tried to get me a spec home that is available on the Westcraft website. Karen advised my mom and I over speaker phone that the base price is 395k but with additional upgrades it would be around 397k. She gave me the number to the preferred mortgage company. Asking me not to use any other lender. The contract would proceed after being pre qualified. Again she asked your not going to put any money down. I replied no it's a VA loan. I was going to put a deposit down in order to hold the home. I was pre qualified immediately. No response even to the mortgage regarding the contract Red flags went up for me when the preferred lender suggested a generic prequalification letter. I waited for a contract and where to send a deposit. Finally after a week I contacted Karen in writing. Where is the contract? I want to lock in the low interest. The house is complete. All she did was back peddle. The famous Karen words. "I need to put it in for final pricing." Another 2 weeks went by. The stalliing to to say it's a market increase. It's done on purpose in order to up the price.I kept pushing the lender and I need to lock in the rate the loan process takes 45 to 60 days the house is almost done. She advised me I was in first position. I requested that a optional price list needs to be present to the VA to meet appraisal. They don't want to do that because they have to account for the final price and that it wouldn't meet the appraisal. Feb 18, 2021 Karen tells me we aren't going to sell you the home. We are going put on the open market. It's going be 500,000 or over. Mr Bridges 40k is nothing. I requested Westcraft put it in writing that they will not sell me this house. Beware of Westcraft homes and a realtor named Karen. Westcraft homes is nothing more than a Bait and Switch home building organization. After contacting them about homes on Jan 9 2021, We met a realtor named Karen. Unfortunately we weren't given anyone else to work with as she seemed slow, uninterested and almost bored. But, after completing a schedule A Construction spec list for us that included all our options for a three-car home (Bitteroot plan on Lot # 91), the price totaled $661,900. We liked the price and told Karen we wanted to move with this house. She said she would immediately put it in for final pricing. That is when the stalling and price changing nightmare started. We waited patiently for this process to go through the needed channels. Karen led us to believe that the process would take only a day or two. For three days we never heard from Karen...no update, no nothing. I finally called her and she seemed confused so I re-explained who were were and asked if she had any news. She said it would take another day or so. Again, for three days went by and Karen never bothered to give us an update so I called. This time she seemed annoyed with my call and simply said, "I will call you when I hear something" then told us it was going to be "next week" before it gets priced. Her "few days" now had turned into 10 days. We started to feel she was avoiding us as we found her comment a bit abrasive. We waited patiently the following week, but again, we heard nothing from Karen. I finally wrote her a text asking for more info. That's when she told us there was going to be a price increase as things were busy. Then, several days later she wrote us a text telling us that The Elm plan was priced for us at $716,000. Then she told us she reminded them she had asked for the Bitteroot plan, but it had an increase of $20,000 in the house. and a 7% increase in our options. We were not aware of these sudden increases and there was nothing on their web site about the price of these plans. Still, we did the math and with what Karen told us, we calculated it to be $683,000. After thinking about this, we decided we would still go through with this major price increase. A few days later Karen wrote a text telling us that they were going to finish with our price quote "that day (hopefully)" which was a Monday. Then we heard nothing else from Karen. We didn't hear anything from Karen on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. So, now feeling exasperated by our anxious wait, we finally called her on Friday morning. She answered the phone and again seem confused and unable to answer our simple question "Karen, have you heard anything about our house?" All she could say was.."Oh..ah...I wrote you that the price was similar to the Elm...I think it was $701,000". I told her there was no email or text ever from her. And, we were shocked to hear that the price of this home was suddenly $18,000 more than even what she said it would be ($20,000 house increase plus 7% on our options) just a few days before. In other words, the house we were clearly quoted on January 26 at $661,900 was now almost $40,000 more in just one week. Bait and switch! Dishonest practice and an extremely unprofessional and an awkwardly slow real Estate agent who showed little if any respect for our feelings and needs. Do not waste your time with this company as they cannot be trusted to honestly work with you or provide to you, an agent who is professional, knowledgeable and thoughtful of your time and your needs. We will be moving to the Kalispell area, but we now know about Silverbrook and Westcraft Homes and will make sure others will know about their bait and switch practices.
