His appointment was at 11:30 am; he was Called into exam room about 11:35 am. For years, driving him to his appointments, because of the treatment and dilations, that was fast! Their promptness and ability to schedule patients properly, that didn't waste their time impressed me. He was in with the doctor for about an hour, maybe a little longer. It takes a few minutes for the eyes to dilate; and then the treatments begin. When he was done, he was happy with the treatment. They take a variety of medical coverage plans; inquire first to make sure yours is one of them. The office clean, well organized, and there is breathing room. In the Main lobby is a small Coffee/Sandwich Shop - Eddies II. To pass the time and get something to eat while he was in the treatment room. Shortly after the visit, we both developed pink eye, which raised serious concerns about the care and hygiene during the appointment. During multiple follow-up visits, the approach felt repetitive and dismissive. Dr. Salzman primarily prescribed antibiotic eye drops at nearly every visit, even after my pink eye had already cleared. There was little explanation provided, and no meaningful discussion of what might be causing the ongoing issues. At one visit, she noticed an eyelash in my eye and again defaulted to prescribing more drops. At my last visit on Tuesday, I still had an issue with my left eye and was once again given antibiotic drops without a thorough evaluation or clear explanation. Overall, the appointments felt rushed and overly focused on prescribing medication, rather than carefully examining the issue or addressing concerns. I did not feel listened to or properly evaluated, and I left feeling frustrated rather than reassured. I expected a much more careful and patient-centered experience, especially for what began as a routine eye exam.

So he looked at me eye and asked me a lot of questions that immediately gave him a complete mental picture of my situation. He followed this with a thorough eye exam. Then he had me return for a biopsy of the "thing". I did return, he did the biopsy. (quick and painless due to his dexterity with a little numbing stuff) I left with a patch over my eye (which is legal in ny). I now am a more courageous person, having driven about 15 miles with one eye..... and i thank him for that. All in all, i think This is the best doctor i have ever been to.
