I had a few lenses I needed fixed. He fixed both and turned them back faster than any larger repair service such as canon would have at a lower price. Unfortunately one of the repairs was a tilt shift lens which is a bitt of a speciality. Upon bringing that lens to work it started doing some funny things again. While it was fixed I decided to send it to canon just to double check as I can have it fail at work. I shoot both commercial and residential architecture. The owner gladly gave me a refund and advised me what the additional problem may be as well as the part. The other lens which was a canon 16-35 now works flawlessly. In additional to being an expert as his craft he also is a good businessman. Prompt communication. Importantly, when I asked for a refund he reviewed his work and gladly refunded me with no hassle. When I first moved to Westbury, they were located near Century 21 and Mamma Teresas. A few years back, they moved to the corner of Old Country Road near Newbridge Road, by Wickers. Now, they have once again relocated a few blocks west, near Planet Fitness and Ella Marie Dance. They were once scammers and continue to be. I was late for an event and forgot my memory card for the camera, so i ran in. The huge store is basically empty and I got a song and dance about why a 1GB SD card was 18-25 bucks. Nothing less. I read the reviews of Westbury Camera, and they were correct! I had an external flash stuck in the hotshoe of my mirrorless camera. I resigned myself to at least losing the flash (~100bux) in order to extricate it. Mordi was very accommodating. Mordi was able to quickly get the flash removed AND he also did an adjust/repair to the flash to help prevent it from happening again---all while taking the time to explain the what/when/where. Don't. Just don't. At least not for repairs! I didn't utilize any other service and yet my repair was never done so I guess I did not use any service at all. After 3 weeks I asked for my camera back. Went to Geek Squad got my camera cleaned and repaired in less than a week. Do yourself a favor. Go to companies that actually care about their business. I'm not sure how to respond back to the response received but no.... good business's will keep the consumer aware of what's going on. I received no calls ever and your building hours weren't accurate. If you would've claimed my camera would take a month to repair than there wouldn't have been an issue.... but that wasn't the case. And if I knew that a reputable company could've done this prior to me seeking an actual camera shop. I would've started there to begin with. I was ignorant on that behalf but do not get upset because you were incapable of handling something as simple as keeping customers aware and updated on the matter. If you remember this incident. As a professional photographer, I'm very careful about who touches my camera. When I started to experience issues with focusing only days before a scheduled event, I knew sending my camera out to the manufacturer would not be an option as that would take too long. It's difficult finding reputable camera repair shops outside of NYC, let alone shops you can trust that won't take advantage of your wallet. I did some research and found that Westbury Camera had reviews far superior to any other shop in the area, so I took my chances. The owner was extremely friendly and knowledgable; he really took the time to talk with me and pinpoint exactly where I was having issues with my camera. This past week was the first time I've ever been in this store and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the owner very helpful but he also got the job done in about a day. I had to repair a small part on the inside of my lens. Gave it to them on Tuesday and it was ready by end of the day on Wednesday. When I picked up the lense he even threw in a little gift so I wouldn't scratch the lens while using the camera. I will definitely come here again if anything else were to happen with my camera. This place is wonderful! I grew up in Westbury and worked in the same shopping center where the second incarnation of this shop was set up. I never stepped inside, choosing to travel to B&H for all my equipment needs while in high school. This Easter morning I was visiting my old stomping grounds and I swung by the newest location to kill time... I'm in love! Modi (the name of the owner) now has a studio set up (for both photography and film-making) for rental at $50/hr, which is DIRT cheap compared to places around my apartment in Brooklyn, which average at $125+/hr. He has a limited amount of film but still carries the most popular types, which is understandable considering the client base in this area is probably mostly using digital. There is a plethora of old-school equipment and hard-to-find cameras here. I would definitely recommend this place to any one who is serious about photography. While there I purchased; a fully functioning Mamiya C330 105 mm lens 80 mm lens and was given a camera bag that is in new condition A body, two lenses, and a bag for $500 dollars. That's pretty amazing to me, compared to the prices I am accustomed to in NYC. Again, this shop is wonderful! I will be back whenever I'm in town. read more

Best camera service in Long Island. It's an easy accessible store and the owner, Modi is a friendly guy who's reasonable with his prices. I went in with a brand new Canon 5d Mark IV. The lens attached (Sigma 35mm 1.4) was loose and looked like it was about to fall off the camera body. I went into the store incredibly upset, thinking that I'd have to get a whole new lens. 15 minutes later, Modi had pinpointed the problem with my lens, fixed the loose screws within and even went to measures to ensure that there wouldn't be another internal issue with my lens in the future. I discovered Westbury Camera by accident after I was looking for an establishment that would fix the battery door on my late grandfather's Canon Powershot A590IS, which I now have in my possession and is a phenomenal camera that takes very high quality pictures and has worked perfectly since 2009, which was when me and my mother bought for him on his birthday. Unfortunately, the battery door had a crack in it and while I had wanted to replace it, I did not have the know-how or materials after I found out that while I would be able to buy a battery door inexpensively, I was worried about breaking the delicate components of the camera. With many excellent reviews and a nearby location, I called Westbury Camera and a gentleman named Modi, who was very friendly, polite, and welcoming invited to bring my camera over and that he would take a look at it, even though it was near closing as it was 6:15PM and he closes at 7:00PM. When I entered the shop, I found it to live up to the expression that looks can be deceiving as while it did not look huge from the outside, the inside was very large and had everything you needed, with various cameras and other components, two studios for portraits, and a repair area. I was then greeted by Modi, the owner, who could not have been friendlier, more patient, and more helpful, which was the same excellent impression he gave me over the phone. He immediately took my camera to the back and checked for an additional battery door, which he would have fixed. However, what he found struck me next, as he was able to quickly and easily fix the battery door using superglue, stating "that the damage was not as bad as I had thought." In addition, when I offered to pay him for his time, he asked me how I discovered him and I told him online. He told me not to worry and that all I had to do was leave him a positive review, which was a pleasant shock and I was glad to do after my excellent experience. He also admired my Canon Powershot A590IS, which he stated was phenominal and told me how happy he was to help me. I thanked him profusely and promised to return whenever I needed help or anything with my camera. All in all, I would definitely recommend Westbury Camera as they have amazing service and many items to help all kinds of photographers. read more
