This is the man to see. Highly valued mechanic!!!!!!!!!! Everything is reasonable and he is more proficient than most repair men. If you have any repair work you need go see him. He does offhand repair work now I think, but he is one of the few remaining repair men on the island. Also, he has many cameras and the best prices around. I bought an item from Koh's on eBay, and Jimmy was kind enough to open the store at 7pm just so I could pick it up in person after work. He was also just the kindest, most pleasant person to deal with, and you can tell he has a real passion for what he does. The quality one on one service reminds me of the family stores you'd go to in the 1970's. We bought a used Pentax K1000 here for a school photography class. The camera is built like a tank. We had a small issue with the frame counter since it is used. Took it to Jimmy and he repaired it while we waited. Once small family-owned stores like this are gone, that's it...we can look forward to dealing with big box stores and Amazon for all eternity. read more

This place fits 1 type of camera person. The hipster antique vintage Polaroids. For people like me, this place really doesn't do much for me. I came in on a slow day expecting to leave with a great camera and instead I left more confused than anything. The store has a sign that states buy, sell, trade. Well they won't buy my specific DSLR camera nor do they sell the canon 5D or 7D I need, nor would they trade my camera for anything remotely close to what I need that they have. They man (who I assume was the owner) must've been having a bad day. He was a slightly rude and 1 worded to me as I asked certain questions to see if I can at least buy something before I left. I was sadly disappointed. When I first saw this store I was excited to see a camera store so I can just spend all my money on it. But I probably won't ever be returning here again. Not sure how it's still in business today. read more

This store has a lot of hidden jewels, from my experience there the owner doesn't negotiate down too often, he's a tough nut to crack. But odds are more than likely you'll definitely find what you need. Even if you go there with no intentions of buying anything, you'll most likely walk out with something. read more

KOH Camera is a hidden "GEM" among camera stores. I found the owner Jimmy Koh to be a true professional, I brought my old camera (Bronica )in for repair or to upgrade, Jimmy Koh, looked at the unit and immediately stated that the only thing that was needed, was to replace two of the moving parts. Mr Koh repaired the item and the cost of repair was more than competitive. I ended buying additional items from the GEM. Great product selection and a very knowledgeable young man. read more

Located in the neighborhood of North Bellmore it is a very quiet suburban area, you would never know camera heaven has secretly tucked itself in here. The moment you enter his doors, you are greeted by a few glass display cases equipped with prehistoric Leica and Nikon cameras. Mr. Koh amazingly collects both antique and modern day pieces on ALL brands. He trades, he buys, he sells, and boy does he collect. On the side walls he carries an extensive stock of Billingham bags vary in different sizes and colors. No matter what other items he may have attained in his years, you just can't help notice the display cases and come back to gawk at each piece with admiration. You don't need to hear Mr. Koh's life's story in order to see the passion and the commitment he holds in his hobby. Kohs Camera a great little camera Store!!! I love there collection of Vintage Cameras. I have purchase all my Leica Equipment from them in the last 8 years. I also have an extensive Nikon collection as well and about half of that collection was purchased here. Jimmy the owner has always been professional and friendly. Pricing is always good and if they can meet or beat a price they will. They don't have a large selection of the latest gear but if your in to vintage cameras and Leica's you will love this place. Jimmy has cut back on some hours to take a little extra time off these days so make sure you call or check their schedule before showing up at the store. read more
