This effin place. Maybe it's good for folks who've been going here for service a while, but the experience has been sub-par for a newbie like me. I went to this location on two separate occasions. The first time I went there was because a colleague of mine noticed oil on the outside hood of my car. We popped the hood and there was oil all over the engine. We assessed prior to going in to Westbrook Auto that we had a oil gasket leak. My colleague could've fixed it but we were in our work clothes. I took it to Westbrook TELLING them I have an oil gasket leak that needed to be fixed. What I will say is that they called me back about my car in a few hrs, but when I went to pick it up, they charged me a fuggin $50 "diagnostic" fee plus supposedly fixing the gasket leak, totaling $168. I was like damn, that's dumb as hell but I paid it...whatever, small business. That was the first the encounter. The second encounter blew me.
A Friday morning I got up to go to work my car wouldn't start. I got a jump, started to drive, car cut out at an intersection. Got another jump and drove it straight to this place thinking they were professionals. In a few hrs they called me back telling me I need a new battery. I asked how much it would be. The guy is gonna tell me $224, for a battery installation. WTF-$124 for the battery, $45 "diagnostic" fee, and then some other bull-sh*t fee. I said nah my battery is under warranty. Took it to a little garage outta someone's home, and it turn's out I had loose wires connecting my alternator. So, my question is, WTF did I pay a diagnostic fee for? The wrong gahtdamn diagnosis?? I am so pissed at this place. read more
