I've only utilized this location once as anything other than a bottle shop and it was very nice but I'll hold off on a higher score until I've visited once or twice more and tried more of their bar offerings. Their location and accommodations are very nice. As part of the MSA Annex they share a large common area with a few other businesses. This common is minimally decorated, but very cozy with ample table and seating options offering both proximity to other groups or relative isolation from fellow patrons. The menu is both ample and refined without much in the way of frills occupying space. They have a nice selection of draft beers as well as cocktails on tap and others that can be made to order. Their wine selection is diverse and nice as well, but not my particular cup of tea. While there is no food to speak of they encourage you to try the offerings either within the Annex or from one of the food trucks that are frequently in the area. Overall this place seems hard to beat for a meet-up and I can't wait to visit again! read more

Super laid back yet modern, burly chic at the same time is the best way I could describe it. Great atmosphere, professional bartenders who were very polite. The live performers were super authentic and set really set the tone. This is a great place to go if you are not into the club scene but still want to socialize. I didn't get a chance to try the food but the cocktails were very original and fresh, nothing sugary. I tried the Cactus Wren and my friend got the San Pedro. I don't usually drink rum which is in the wren and when I tried it it was very prominent. In a good way. I think it was probably very good quality it just wasn't for me so I switched it to the margarita which I'm super picky about. It was perfect. It didn't taste like syrup it tasted like someone just squeezed the lime and added just enough bitters to even it out. read more

This place is one of a kind and bound to be a weekend destination for locals and non-locals alike. The bar opens up to a quaint, industrial (weird to use those two adjectives together, but it's true) shopping area made of shipping containers, with immediate street car access. As in, you hop off the street car and step right into the shopping area. The shops are modern and feel upscale. Probably out of my price range, but that makes it no less fun to look. Everything at the bar is on tap, which is different and very cool. I was excited to order one of the cocktails on tap. It was stronger than expected. We walked around the shopping plaza together talking and settled into some seats at a picnic table in a quiet area. Tons of people at the opening, and between that and the live music, it was a little hard to hear. Anyway, great place. Go see for yourself. read more

This is a very nice bar, located in a hipsterish location with buildings made from cargo containers. The place is kind of boring once you get over the excitement of the locale. However the prices are reasonable and the bartenders here are awesome. Definitely not a typical bar/pub atmosphere. It had more of a pop up feel to it. It's just there, and you are welcome to sit at one of their cafeteria style tables. That doesn't mean it is bad, it just lacks character. Hopefully, it will change, and have the ability to forge an identity in the future. read more

As an offshoot of Tap&Bottle, Westbound has a bit of a pedigree to live up to, and for the most part does. The seating arrangements are a bit weird, and it's stupid hot in the summer, but it brings a nice openness to the Annex. The tap list is always solid, the cocktails are surprisingly boozy, and they also have alcho-popsicles. A welcome Oasis in the West-of-the-freeway drinking desert. read more

It is the second time I've been here for wine with friends. It's a super cute spot to have some drinks and nice conversation. however I am hesitate, as well as my friends to return due to the bartenders demeanor. We arrived at 8:30 and ordered a bottle of wine and at 10:30 we were rudely interrupted twice 20 minutes before closing, basically kicking us out. This is the second time this has been done to my friends and I at this establishment which is awfully disappointing due to the nice space they have. Won't be back anytime soon, work on your customer service. read more

As I was told twice by the bartender, this place is not a full bar. They have wine and beer on tap and some local liquor for mixed drinks. But if you want a mixer they charge you for a full bottle (such as tonic or ginger ale). The place was very busy and the staff seemed to handle the business well and quickly,but the drinks here are nothing exceptional. If it were more like a full bar it would be a better experience. read more

This little shop is part of the MSA Annex and they have plenty of choices on tap including beers, wine, and cocktails. They also have a "grab and go" store. All the seating is outside so make sure you are ok with the heat, or just wait till it gets a little cooler at night. The night we went they were very busy and the service was terrible. The local beer choices were great though. I may give it another try on a weeknight instead of a weekend. read more

I love this little sister to Tap & Bottle. I have not gotten to experience the outdoor seating part yet but the little bottle shop is nice. It's always clean (pandemic clean), well stocked and the staff have been friendly. I love the walk-in beer cooler, especially during the hot summer. There is an overwhelming selection of beer and to me, it's not clearly laid out. I wasn't clear on what the various colored labels were about. Maybe they meant nothing? Finding beers to try was a fun treasure hunt nonetheless. I'm sure the staff will help if you don't know where to start or need suggestions. On top of beer they have liquor, wine, and cocktails to go. Since the shop is so small you know they don't just have alcohol for the sake of filling shelves. They carefully select and are constantly changing their stock. Want to try new tequila? Go here. Want to find a unique wine? Go here! Bonus, if you know what you want or don't want to go in you can do curbside or delivery. I tried their pickup for a few of their cocktails. I loved the margarita. It wasn't overly sweet. We were very excited to try out this new venture from Tap and Bottle. An Annex created by shipping containers sounded super cool. We arrived and were basically the only customers there. There was no music playing, no real ambiance and the bar tender was a snobby young man who was not at all what we expected. We asked for a menu and then told to, "sit wherever." We sat in odd shaped "beach furniture" and after about 15 minutes the young man walked over to take our order. Just FYI they do not have any real bartenders, everything comes from a tap. We ordered the 4 Roses bourbon drink, the bartender brought it over, and immediately asked for payment. We just looked at him, "really?" we hadn't even tried the drink and we where the only ones there?! We paid. The drink was awful, straight syrup flavor, so blazingly sweet, my friend gagged. We sat there for maybe another 20 minutes, no one ever came back to our table, when we got up to leave there was no response. This is a strange bar with rude "bar tenders" there is no ambience, no real "vibe" we won't be back. Hopefully at there grand opening they iron out there issues and hire some friendly people, that would be a great start. read more

Want to give 4.5. Great outdoor patio ambience, good beer selection, and and the noise/crowd is just right. Great place outside the bustle of downtown and seems like a great place to enjoy a low-to-moderate key night with a small group of friends. Also convenient you can get beer to go from their shop. I really enjoy this bar at the MSA Annex. The biggest reason is that during the summer there's a shaded and AIR CONDITIONED section of seating. My favorite spot is in the left corner with the bench and comfy pillows. Also, westbound is the MSA Annex. It's basically in the center and offers a place of solitude and beer. Favorite of course is Papago Orange blossom. There cocktails are strong and creative!! I enjoy the fact that you can take your food from Kukai or Beaut and grab a beer and eat at Westbound. read more
